1 Samuel 21 Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest : and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David , and said to him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?

3 H3426 Now therefore what is H3027 under thy hand H5414 [H8798] ? give H2568 me five H3899 loaves of bread H3027 in my hand H4672 [H8737] , or what there is present.

4 H3548 And the priest H6030 [H8799] answered H1732 David H559 [H8799] , and said H2455 , There is no common H3899 bread H3027 under my hand H3426 , but there is H6944 hallowed H3899 bread H5288 ; if the young men H8104 [H8738] have kept H389 themselves at least H802 from women.

6 H3548 So the priest H5414 [H8799] gave H6944 him hallowed H3899 bread: for there was no bread H3899 H6440 there but the showbread H5493 [H8716] , that was taken H6440 from before H3068 the LORD H7760 [H8800] , to put H2527 hot H3899 bread H3117 in the day H3947 [H8736] when it was taken away.

7 H376 Now a certain man H5650 of the servants H7586 of Saul H3117 was there that day H6113 [H8737] , detained H6440 before H3068 the LORD H8034 ; and his name H1673 was Doeg H130 , an Edomite H47 , the chief H7462 [H8802] of the herdmen H7586 that belonged to Saul.

8 H1732 And David H559 [H8799] said H288 to Ahimelech H3426 , And is there H371 not H3027 here under thy hand H2595 a spear H2719 or sword H3947 [H8804] ? for I have neither brought H2719 my sword H3627 nor my weapons H3027 with me H4428 , because the king's H1697 business H1961 [H8804] required H5169 [H8803] haste.

9 H3548 And the priest H559 [H8799] said H2719 , The sword H1555 of Goliath H6430 the Philistine H5221 [H8689] , whom thou slewest H6010 in the valley H425 of Elah H3874 [H8803] , behold, it is here wrapped H8071 in a cloth H310 behind H646 the ephod H3947 [H8799] : if thou wilt take H3947 [H8798] that, take H312 it: for there is no other H2108 except H2088 that here H1732 . And David H559 [H8799] said H5414 [H8798] , There is none like that; give it to me.

10 H1732 And David H6965 [H8799] arose H1272 [H8799] , and fled H3117 that day H6440 for fear H7586 of Saul H935 [H8799] , and went H397 to Achish H4428 the king H1661 of Gath.

11 H5650 And the servants H397 of Achish H559 [H8799] said H1732 to him, Is not this David H4428 the king H776 of the land H6030 [H8799] ? did they not sing H2088 one to another of him H4246 in dances H559 [H8800] , saying H7586 , Saul H5221 [H8689] hath slain H505 his thousands H1732 , and David H7233 his ten thousands?
