Mark 7:1-5

WPNT(i) 1 Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered around Him, having come from Jerusalem. 2 And upon seeing some of His disciples eating bread with ‘unclean’—that is, ceremonially unwashed—hands, they found fault. 3 (Because the Pharisees, indeed all the Jews, do not eat unless they wash their hands in a special way, holding to the tradition of the elders. 4 When they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other things they have received and hold—washings of cups, pitchers, copper vessels and couches.) 5 Then the Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”
