1 By night on my bed, I sought him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.
2 I will get up now, and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.
3 The watchmen going about the city found me. I said, Have you seen Him whom my soul loves?
4 I had just passed them, and then I found the one I love. I held him and wouldn't let him go, until I brought him to my mother's house to the room of the one who conceived me.
5 I adjure you, O maidens of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or by the does of the field, do not arouse or awaken love until it pleases!
6 What is this coming up from the desert like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense from all the fragrant powders of the merchant?
7 Look, it is Solomon's carriage. Sixty mighty men are around it, of the mighty men of Israel.
8 All of them are wearing swords and are experienced in battle. Each has his sword on his thigh, ready for the terror of the night.

11 Go out, you daughters of Zion, and see king Solomon, with the crown with which his mother has crowned him, in the day of his weddings, in the day of the gladness of his heart.
