Revelation 4:1-5:14

VIN(i) 1 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the voice, which I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this." 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne standing in heaven, with someone seated on it. 3 He who sat there had the appearance of jasper and sardius stones. A rainbow that looked like an emerald surrounded the throne. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones. On the thrones were twenty-four elders sitting, dressed in white garments, with crowns of gold on their heads. 5 Out from the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. In front of the throne seven blazing lamps were burning; they are the seven spirits of God. 6 And before the throne was something like a sea of glass, as clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, covered with eyes in front and back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man's, and the fourth was like an eagle flying. 8 And each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” 9 When the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for you have created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. 5 1 Then I saw in the right hand of Him who was seated on the throne a book with writing on both sides, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 No one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth could open the scroll or look inside it. 4 And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll, or to look in it. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.” 6 Then I saw a Lamb who appeared to have been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit of God sent out into all the earth. 7 And he came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb; each one had a harp, and they had golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation. 10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth." 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels about the throne, and about the beasts and the elders, and I heard thousand thousands, 12 In a loud voice they said: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” 13 And I heard every creature in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever.” 14 The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.
