Psalms 97:1-119:176 the LORD reigneth: let the earth be glad, let the many isles rejoice.

VIN⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ the LORD reigneth: let the earth be glad, let the many isles rejoice. ² Cloud and thick darkness are surrounding him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. ³ A fire goes before him, and burns up his adversaries on every side. ⁴ His lightning lights up the world. The earth sees, and trembles. ⁵ Mountains melt like wax before the LORD before the LORD of all the earth. ⁶ The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. ⁷ Let all who serve an image be ashamed, those who boast about idols. Worship him, all you gods. ⁸ Zion heard, and rejoiced; and the daughters of Judah were glad, because of thy judgments, O LORD. ⁹ For you, LORD, are most high above all the earth. You are exalted far above all gods. ¹⁰ You who love the LORD, hate evil. He protects the lives of his faithful; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked. ¹¹ Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. ¹² Be glad in the LORD, you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name. ⁹⁸ ¹ Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things. His right hand, and his holy arm, have worked salvation for him. 2 the LORD has made his salvation known. He has uncovered his righteousness for the nations to see. ³ He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. ⁴ Shout joyfully to the LORD all the earth. Break out into joyful singing, and make music. ⁵ Make melody to the LORD with the harp, With the harp and the sound of melody." ⁶ With trumpets and the sound of a ram's horn shout in the presence of the LORD, the king! ⁷ Let the sea roar, and the fullness of it; the world, and those who live in it. ⁸ Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing for joy together. ⁹ Let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity. ⁹⁹ ¹ the LORD reigns! Let the nations tremble. He sits enthroned between the cherubim: let the earth be moved. ² Great is the LORD in Zion, And exalted is He over all the peoples." ³ Let them praise your great and awesome name! He is holy. ⁴ The King's strength also loves justice. You do establish equity. You execute justice and righteousness in Jacob. ⁵ Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool. He is holy! ⁶ Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel was among those who call on his name. They called on the LORD, and he answered them. ⁷ He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies and the statute he gave to them. ⁸ O LORD our God, you answered them. You were a forgiving God to them, and an avenger of their evil deeds. ⁹ Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the LORD our God is holy! ¹⁰⁰ ¹ Shout for joy to the LORD, all you lands. 2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before His face with joyful singing. ³ Know that the LORD, he is God. It is he who has made us and we are his. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture. ⁴ Enter his gates with thanksgiving, his courts with praise. Give thanks to him; bless his name. ⁵ For the LORD is good, His grace endures forever, His faithfulness to all generations. ¹⁰¹ ¹ A Psalm by David. I will sing of grace and justice. To You, the LORD, I will sing praises. ² I will be careful to live a blameless life. When will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a blameless heart. ³ I will set no vile thing before my eyes. I hate the deeds of faithless men. They will not cling to me. ⁴ A perverse heart will be far from me. I will have nothing to do with evil. ⁵ Whoso slandereth his neighbour in secret, him will I destroy; whoso is haughty of eye and proud of heart, him will I not suffer. ⁶ My eyes will be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me. He who walks in a perfect way, he will minister to me. ⁷ He who practices deceit won't dwell within my house. He who speaks falsehood won't be established before my eyes. ⁸ Every morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land: to cut off all workers of iniquity from the city of the LORD. ¹⁰² ¹ A prayer of one afflicted, when he grows faint and pours out his lament before the LORD. O LORD, hear my prayer, and let my cry for help come to you. ² Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress. Incline your ear to me. In the day when I call answer me quickly. ³ For my days vanish like smoke, And my bones burn hot like glowing embers." ⁴ My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. ⁵ Because of the sound of my groaning my bones cling to my skin. ⁶ I have become like a pelican of the wilderness; ⁷ I lie awake, I have become like a lonely bird on a housetop. ⁸ All day long my enemies have reproached me. Those who deride me used my name as a curse. ⁹ I have eaten ashes as food and mixed my drink with tears ¹⁰ because of your indignation and your wrath; for you have taken me up and thrown me away. ¹¹ My days are like a lengthened shadow and I wither away like grass. ¹² But you, LORD, will abide forever; your renown endures to all generations. ¹³ You will arise to extend compassion on Zion, for it is time to show her favor the appointed time has come. ¹⁴ (102:15) For thy servants hold dear her stones, and her very dust they cherish. ¹⁵ So the nations will fear the name of the LORD; all the kings of the earth your glory. ¹⁶ For the Lord will rebuild Sion and appear in his glory. ¹⁷ He will turn to the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their prayer. ¹⁸ Let this be written for a later generation, When a people yet being created shall praise Yah." ¹⁹ For he looketh down from his sanctuary; out of the heaven doth the LORD behold the earth, ²⁰ to hear the groans of the prisoner; to free those who are condemned to death; ²¹ That the name of the LORD may be declared in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem, ²² when the peoples and the kingdoms are gathered together to serve the LORD. ²³ He hath prostrated, in the way, my strength,—He hath shortened my days. ²⁴ Do not take me away in the midst of my days; Your years are through all generations. ²⁵ In the beginning You, O Lord, laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of Your hands. ²⁶ "They will perish, but you endure. All of them will wear out like a garment; like clothing you will renew them and they will be renewed. ²⁷ But you remain the same; your years never end. ²⁸ The children of your servants will continue, and their descendants will be established before you." ¹⁰³ ¹ {Of David} Praise the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me praise his holy name. ² Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. ³ who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, ⁴ who redeems your life from corruption; who crowns you with mercy and compassion; ⁵ who satisfies your desire with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. ⁶ the LORD works righteousness and judgments for all the oppressed. ⁷ who made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel. ⁸ the LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loyal love. ⁹ He will not always chasten, nor will he keep his anger forever. ¹⁰ He has not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. ¹¹ For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His grace toward those who fear Him. ¹² As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. ¹³ Like a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him. ¹⁴ For he knows how we are made. He remembers that we are dust. ¹⁵ As for man, his days are as grass: his beautiful growth is like the flower of the field. ¹⁶ For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. ¹⁷ But the loyal love of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to their children's children, ¹⁸ to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his precepts. ¹⁹ The LORD has established his throne in heaven and his kingdom rules over all. ²⁰ Bless the LORD, you his angels, you mighty heroes who do his word by obeying the sound of his word. ²¹ Bless the LORD, all you his hosts, you his attendants who do his will. ²² Praise the LORD, all you his works in all places of his dominion. Praise the LORD, O my soul. ¹⁰⁴ ¹ Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great. You are clothed with honor and majesty, ² He covers himself with light as with a garment. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain. ³ He lays the beams of his chambers in the waters. He makes the clouds his chariot. He walks on the wings of the wind. ⁴ He makes winds his angels, and flames of fire his servants. ⁵ He laid the earth on its foundations; it shall not be shaken forever. ⁶ You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. ⁷ At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they ran off. ⁸ they ascend by the mountains; they descend by the valleys to the place you founded for them. ⁹ You have set a boundary they cannot cross; they will never again cover the earth. ¹⁰ He causes springs to gush forth into rivers that flow between the mountains. ¹¹ They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild donkeys quench their thirst. ¹² The birds of the sky nest by them, they sing among the branches. ¹³ He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. ¹⁴ He causes grass to sprout for the cattle and plants for people to cultivate, to produce food from the land, ¹⁵ and wine that gladdens the heart of man and oil to make his face to shine and bread that strengthens man's heart. ¹⁶ The trees of the LORD are satisfied the cedars of Lebanon that He planted; ¹⁷ where the birds make their nests. The stork makes its home in the fir trees. ¹⁸ The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the conies ¹⁹ He made the moon for seasons; the sun knows its going down. ²⁰ You bring darkness and it becomes night; when every beast of the forest prowls. ²¹ The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God. ²² The sun rises, and they steal away, and lie down in their dens. ²³ Man goes out to his work, to his labor until the evening. ²⁴ How manifold are Thy works, O LORD! In wisdom hast Thou made them all; the earth is full of Thy creatures. ²⁵ The sea is so big and wide with many creatures, living things both large and small. ²⁶ There the ships go, and leviathan, whom you formed to play there. ²⁷ They all wait for you to give them their food at the proper time. ²⁸ You give to them; they gather. You open your hand; they are satisfied with good. ²⁹ You hide your face, they are terrified. You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. ³⁰ When you send your spirit, they are created, and you replenish the surface of the earth. ³¹ May the glory of the LORD endure for ever; let the LORD rejoice in His works! ³² He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke. ³³ I will sing to the LORD all my life. I will sing praise to my God as long as I exist. ³⁴ May my meditation be pleasing to him. I will be glad in the LORD. ³⁵ Let the sinners perish from the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, O my soul. Praise the LORD! ¹⁰⁵ ¹ O give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name. Make known among the peoples his practices. ² Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; talk of all His wonderful works. ³ Glory in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek the LORD rejoice. ⁴ Seek ye the LORD and his strength: seek his face always. ⁵ Remember His wonders that He has done, His miracles, and the judgments of His mouth, ⁶ O seed of Abraham, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones. ⁷ He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth. ⁸ He remembered his covenant forever, the word he commanded to a thousand generations. ⁹ Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac; ¹⁰ He presented it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant. ¹¹ saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan, the portion of your inheritance; ¹² When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it. ¹³ they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. ¹⁴ He suffered no man to do them wrong, yea, for their sake He reproved kings: ¹⁵ "Do not touch my anointed ones. Do my prophets no harm." ¹⁶ He called for a famine on the land, He destroyed the piles of food. ¹⁷ He sent a man before them. Joseph was sold for a slave. ¹⁸ They bruised his feet with shackles. His neck was locked in irons, ¹⁹ until his word came to pass; till the oracle of the Lord tried him. ²⁰ The king sent and released him, even the ruler of peoples, and let him go free. ²¹ He made him master of his house, and ruler of all his possession. ²² To bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom. ²³ Then Israel came to Egypt. Jacob lived as a foreigner in the land of Ham. ²⁴ And he made his people very fruitful. He also made them stronger than their enemies. ²⁵ He turned their heart to hate his people, to conspire against his servants. ²⁶ He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. ²⁷ They performed his signs among them, his wonders in the land of Ham. ²⁸ He sent darkness, and made it dark. And they rebelled against his words. ²⁹ He turned their waters into blood, and caused their fish to die. ³⁰ Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the rooms of their kings. ³¹ He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats in all their country. ³² He turned their rain into hail, into flaming fire in their land. ³³ And he struck their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their territory. ³⁴ He spoke, and the locusts came, and the grasshoppers, without number, ³⁵ They consumed every green plant in their land, and devoured the fruit of their soil. ³⁶ He struck also all the firstborn in their land, the first fruits of all their manhood. ³⁷ He brought Israel out with silver and gold, and no one among his tribes stumbled. ³⁸ Egypt was glad when they departed, because the fear of them had fallen upon them. ³⁹ He spread out a cloud as a covering, And fire, to give light by night, ⁴⁰ They asked, and he brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. ⁴¹ He opened a rock, and water gushed out flowing like a river in the desert. ⁴² For He remembered His holy word and His servant Abraham; ⁴³ He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with a song of joy. ⁴⁴ He gave them the lands of other nations. They inherited what others had worked for. ⁴⁵ that they might keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Praise the LORD. ¹⁰⁶ ¹ Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His grace endures forever. ² Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD, or fully declare all his praise? ³ Blessed are those who observe justice, he who does righteousness at all times. ⁴ Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people. Look after me when you deliver, ⁵ That I may see the prosperity of thy chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the joy of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance. ⁶ We have sinned with our fathers; we have done amiss, and dealt wickedly. ⁷ Our fathers in Egypt did not understand your wonders. They did not remember your abundant kindnesses. But they rebelled by the Red Sea. ⁸ But He saved them for His name's sake, to make His mighty power known. ⁹ He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert. ¹⁰ He saved them from the hand of the one who hated them and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. ¹¹ But waters covered their adversaries; not one of them survived. ¹² Then they believed his word and sung his praise. ¹³ But they quickly forgot his deeds and did not wait for his counsel. ¹⁴ but gave in to their craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland. ¹⁵ And he gave them their request, but sent a wasting disease into their souls. ¹⁶ yet they provoked Moses in the camp and Aaron the consecrated of the Lord. ¹⁷ the earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; and covered the company of Abiram. ¹⁸ a fire burnt in their witness - the flame burnt the wicked: ¹⁹ At Mount Horeb they made a statue of a calf. They worshiped an idol made of metal. ²⁰ Thus they exchanged their glory for an image of a bull that eats grass. ²¹ They forgot God, who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt, ²² wonders in the land of Ham, awesome deeds by the Red Sea. ²³ So he said he would exterminate them, had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to reverse his wrath from destroying them. ²⁴ Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They did not believe his word, ²⁵ They complained in their tents. They did not obey the LORD. ²⁶ So he lifted up his hand unto them, that he would let them fall in the desert; ²⁷ kill their descendants among the nations, and scatter them throughout various lands. ²⁸ They also attached themselves to Baal of Peor, and they ate sacrifices offered to the dead. ²⁹ Thus they provoked to anger by their deeds, and a plague broke out among them. ³⁰ Then Phinehas stood and intervened, and the plague was stayed; ³¹ That was credited to him for righteousness, for all generations to come. ³² And they angered Him at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill for Moses because of them; ³³ for they rebelled against his spirit so that he babbled with his lips: ³⁴ They did not destroy the peoples, as the LORD commanded them, ³⁵ but they mingled with the nations and learned their works, ³⁶ They served their idols, which became a snare to them. ³⁷ They sacrificed their sons And their daughters to demons; ³⁸ and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was defiled with blood, ³⁹ Thus they defiled themselves by their deeds, And they prostituted themselves by their actions." ⁴⁰ Therefore the Lord was incensed against his people, and abhorred his inheritance. ⁴¹ He handed them over to other nations, and those who hated them ruled them. ⁴² Their enemies oppressed them and made them subject to their power. ⁴³ Many times He delivered them, but they rebelled in their counsel and sank in their iniquities. ⁴⁴ Yet he looked upon their distress when he heard their cry. ⁴⁵ he remembered his covenant and according to the multitude of his mercies; ⁴⁶ He also made them to be pitied by all those who carried them captive. ⁴⁷ Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, so that we may give thanks to your holy name and boast in your praise. ⁴⁸ Thanks be to the LORD the God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say amen. Praise the LORD! ¹⁰⁷ ¹ Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His grace endures forever. ² Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He redeemed from the hand of the foe; ³ and gathered from the lands, from east and from west, from north and from south. ⁴ They wandered in desolate wilderness; they found no road to a city where they could live. ⁵ They were hungry and thirsty: their soul fainted in them. ⁶ Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. ⁷ He led them in a straight way to find a city where they could live. ⁸ Let them give thanks to the LORD for his gracious love and his awesome deeds for mankind. ⁹ For He satisfies the empty soul, and fills the hungry soul with good things, ¹⁰ Those who sat in darkness and gloom, prisoners of misery and iron— ¹¹ because they rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the Most High; ¹² And he humbled with trouble their heart; they stumbled, and there was none to help; ¹³ Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke away their chains. ¹⁵ Let them give thanks to the LORD for his gracious love, and for his awesome deeds to mankind. ¹⁶ For he has broken the gates of bronze, and cut through bars of iron. ¹⁷ Because of their rebellious ways, fools suffered for their iniquities. ¹⁸ They loathed all food, and even reached the gates of death. ¹⁹ Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. ²⁰ He sent his message and healed them. He rescued them from the grave. ²¹ Let them give thanks to the LORD for his gracious love, and for his awesome deeds for mankind. ²² Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and talk about his works with shouts of joy. ²³ As for them who go to sea in ships, and traffick on the mighty waters; ²⁴ they saw the works of the LORD, and his wonderful deeds in the deep. ²⁵ For he spoke and raised up a stormy wind, and it whipped up its waves. ²⁶ They mount up to the heavens, and they go down to the depths: their soul pined away with evils. ²⁷ They reeled and staggered like a drunkard, and they were at their wits' end. ²⁸ Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distresses. ²⁹ He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves of the sea are still. ³⁰ Then they are glad because it is calm, so he brings them to their desired haven. ³¹ Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love and his wonderful deeds for the children of humankind, ³² Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the counsel of the elders. ³³ He turns rivers into a desert, water springs into a thirsty ground, ³⁴ and a fruitful land into a salt waste because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it. ³⁵ He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs. ³⁶ There he settled the hungry, where they built a city to live in. ³⁷ They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a productive harvest. ³⁸ And he blesses them and they multiply greatly, and he does not let their cattle become few. ³⁹ When they become few and they are bent down from the oppression of calamity and grief, ⁴⁰ he pours contempt on princes and causes them to wander in a trackless waste. ⁴¹ Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction, and increases their families like a flock. ⁴² The righteous will see this and rejoice, but all the wicked will shut their mouths. ⁴³ Whoever is wise, let him observe these things; Let them consider the benignities of the LORD." ¹⁰⁸ ¹ A Song. A Psalm by David. My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing and I will make music with my soul. ² Awake, harp and lyre. I will awake the dawn. ³ I will praise you, O LORD, among the people. I will sing praises to you among the nations. ⁴ For Your grace is great above the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. ⁵ Be exalted, God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth. ⁶ that your beloved may be rescued; save with your right and answer me. ⁷ God has spoken from his sanctuary: "In triumph, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Succoth. ⁸ Gilead is mine. Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is my helmet. Judah is my scepter. ⁹ Moab is My washbasin; Unto Edom shall I fling My sandal; Over Philistia shall I shout in triumph. ¹⁰ Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? ¹¹ Will not You, O God, who have rejected us? And will not You, O God, go forth with our armies? ¹² Give us help against the enemy, for the help of man is vain. ¹³ In God we shall do strength, and he will tread down our enemies. ¹⁰⁹ ¹ To the Director. A Davidic psalm.. God, whom I praise, do not be silent, ² Wicked and deceitful people have opened their mouths against me. They speak against me with lying tongues. ³ And, with words of hatred, have they surrounded me, and have made war upon me without cause: ⁴ In return for my love they accuse me, though I am in prayer. ⁵ And they repaid me evil for good: and hatred for my love. ⁶ Appoint the evil one to oppose him. Let an accuser stand at his right hand. ⁷ When he is judged, let him come out guilty, and let his prayer become as sin. ⁸ Let his days be few; and let another take his office of overseer. ⁹ May his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. ¹⁰ may his children be wandering beggars, let them be sought from their ruins. ¹¹ Let the creditor seize all that he has. Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor. ¹² May no one extend gracious love to him, or show favor to his fatherless children. ¹³ Let his descendants be cut off. Let their name be blotted out in the next generation. ¹⁴ Let the iniquity of his ancestors be remembered before the LORD, and let the sin of his mother not be blotted out. ¹⁵ let them be always before the LORD, so that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth; ¹⁶ For he didn't think to extend gracious love; he harassed to death the poor, the needy, and the broken hearted. ¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him; he also had no pleasure in blessing, and it was far from him. ¹⁸ He put on cursing like a robe, and it has come into his body like water, and into his bones like oil. ¹⁹ May those curses wrap around him like a garment, or like a belt that one always wears. ²⁰ May this be the way the LORD repays my accuser, those who speak evil against me. ²¹ But You, Sovereign LORD, deal kindly with me for Your name's sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me. ²² For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. ²³ I fade away like an evening shadow. I am shaken off like a locust. ²⁴ My knees are weak through fasting, my body is thin and lacks fat. ²⁵ I am become also a taunt unto them; when they see me, they shake their head. ²⁶ Help me, O LORD my God; save me according to your loyal love, ²⁷ that they may know that this is your hand; that you, LORD, have done it. ²⁸ Let them curse, but you bless. When they arise, they will be put to shame, but your servant will rejoice. ²⁹ May my accusers be clothed with shame and wrapped in their humiliation as with a robe. ³⁰ With my mouth I will greatly thank the Lord; and praise him in the midst of many: ³¹ for he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those judging his life. ¹¹⁰ ¹ A Psalm by David. the LORD says to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. ² the LORD will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies. ³ Your people will volunteer in the day of your power. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth. ⁴ The LORD has sworn, and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek." ⁵ The Lord is at your right hand. He will crush kings in the day of his wrath. ⁶ He will judge among the nations. He will heap up dead bodies. He will crush the ruler of the whole earth. ⁷ He will drink of the brook in the way; therefore he will lift up his head. ¹¹¹ ¹ Praise the LORD! I will thank the LORD with all my heart; in the council of the upright, and of the assembly. ² Great are the works of the LORD, Sought after by all who delight in them." ³ Glorious and majestic is his doing, and his righteousness endureth for ever. ⁴ He has made his wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate. ⁵ He gives food to those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. ⁶ He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the heritage of the nations. ⁷ The works of his hands are faithfulness and justice; all his precepts are reliable. ⁸ They are sustained forever and ever, done with faithfulness and uprightness. ⁹ He sent redemption unto his people: he has commanded his covenant forever: holy and awesome is his name. ¹⁰ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who do them have a good understanding. His praise endures forever. ¹¹² ¹ Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD; he takes great delight in his commands. ² His seed will be mighty in the land, the generation of the upright will be blessed. ³ Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. ⁴ Risen—in darkness, is light to the upright, The gracious and compassionate and righteous. ⁵ Well will it be with the man who is kind, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with justice. ⁶ For he will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered forever. ⁷ He will not be afraid of evil news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. ⁸ His heart is secure, he has no fears; in the end he will look in triumph on his adversaries. ⁹ He has scattered abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be lifted up with honor. ¹⁰ The wicked shall see it, and be vexed; he will gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the longing of the wicked shall perish. ¹¹³ ¹ Praise the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. ² Let the name of the Lord be blessed, now and forevermore. ³ From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. ⁴ The LORD is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens. ⁵ Who is like the LORD our God, who is enthroned on high, ⁶ who stoops down to view both heaven and earth? ⁷ He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the dunghill ⁸ to seat them with princes, with the princes of his people. ⁹ He settles the barren woman in her home, as a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD. ¹¹⁴ ¹ When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign language, ² Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. ³ The sea looked and fled; the Jordan turned back; ⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. ⁵ What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back? ⁶ O mountains, that you skipped like rams? O hills, like lambs? ⁷ Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, ⁸ who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of waters. ¹¹⁵ ¹ Not to us, LORD, not to us, but to your name be given glory on account of your gracious love and faithfulness. ² Why do the nations say, Where is their God now? ³ Our God is in heaven. He does whatever he pleases. ⁴ Their idols, are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men,— ⁵ They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see. ⁶ they have ears, but they cannot hear; they have noses, but they cannot smell; ⁷ They have hands but they cannot feel: They have feet, but they cannot walk: nor can they utter a sound with their throat. ⁸ Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them. ⁹ House of Israel, trust in the LORD; He is their Help and their Shield." ¹⁰ O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. ¹¹ You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their helper and shield. ¹² The LORD remembers us. He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel. He will bless the house of Aaron. ¹³ He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great. ¹⁴ May the LORD give you increase, you and your children. ¹⁵ May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth. ¹⁶ The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but he gave the earth to human beings. ¹⁷ The dead do not praise the LORD, nor any who go down into silence, ¹⁸ but we will bless the LORD, from now on and forever. Praise the LORD! ¹¹⁶ ¹ I love the LORD because he has heard my prayer for mercy; ² Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. ³ The cords of death compassed me, and the pains of Sheol gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow ⁴ Then I called on the name of the LORD: "O LORD, please save my life!" ⁵ The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate; ⁶ The LORD preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me. ⁷ Return to your rest, O soul; for the LORD has blessed you. ⁸ For You have delivered my soul from death, my eye from tears, my feet from stumbling. ⁹ I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁰ I believed, therefore I said, "I am greatly afflicted." ¹¹ I said in my haste, "All men are liars." ¹² How can I repay the LORD for all the good that he has done for me? ¹³ I will lift up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people. ¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. ¹⁶ LORD, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid. You have freed me from my chains. ¹⁷ I will bring you a thanksgiving offering and call on the name of the LORD! ¹⁸ I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of the house of the LORD; in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD! ¹¹⁷ ¹ Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. ² For his mercy is great toward us; and the truth of the LORD [endureth] for ever. Praise ye the LORD ¹¹⁸ ¹ Give thanks to the LORD for He is good, for His grace endures forever. ² Let Israel say, "His loyal love is forever." ³ Let the house of Aaron say, "His loyal love is forever." ⁴ Let those who fear the LORD say, "His loyal love is forever." ⁵ In my distress I called to the LORD; he answered me and set me free. ⁶ the LORD is with me, I will not be afraid; what can man do to me? ⁷ the LORD is for me as my helper, and so I will look in triumph on those who hate me. ⁸ It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. ⁹ It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. ¹⁰ All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the LORD, I cut them off. ¹¹ They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. In the name of the LORD I indeed cut them off. ¹² They surrounded me like bees but they are quenched like the burning thorns. In the name of the LORD I cut them off. ¹³ I was pushed, yea pushed so as to fall, Yet the LORD, He helped me." ¹⁴ The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. ¹⁵ The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD does mighty things. ¹⁶ the LORD's right hand is exalted; the LORD's right hand does valiantly. ¹⁷ I shall not die: but live and proclaim the works of the Lord. ¹⁸ The LORD has chastened me severely: but he has not given me over unto death. ¹⁹ Open for me the gates of righteousness, and I will go in at them and give thanks to the Lord. ²⁰ This is the gate of the LORD, through which the righteous will enter. ²¹ I will give thee thanks, for thou hast answered me, and art become my salvation. ²² The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. ²³ From the LORD came this; It is marvelous in our eyes. ²⁴ This is the day the LORD has made let us rejoice and be glad in it! ²⁵ O Lord, save me: O Lord, give good success. ²⁶ Blessed be he that comes in the name of the LORD; from the house of the LORD we bless you. ²⁷ The LORD is God, and he has given us light. Bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar. ²⁸ You are my God, and I will give thanks to you. Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. ² Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart. ³ Yes, they do nothing wrong. They walk in his ways. ⁴ You have commanded your precepts, that we should fully obey them. ⁵ Oh that my ways were steadfast to obey your statutes! ⁶ Then I would not be ashamed when I look to all your commands. ⁷ I will praise you with an upright heart, as I learn your righteous decrees. ⁸ I will heed your statutes; do not utterly forsake me. ⁹ BET How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. ¹⁰ I have sought you with all of my heart; do not let me drift away from your commands. ¹¹ I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. ¹² Praise you, O LORD. Teach me your statutes. ¹³ With my lips I recount All the ordinances from Your mouth. ¹⁴ I rejoice in the way of your witnesses as over all wealth; ¹⁵ I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways. ¹⁶ I am delighted with your statutes; I will not forget your word. ¹⁷ GIMEL Do good to your servant. I will live and I will obey your word. ¹⁸ Open my eyes that I may observe wonderful things from your law. ¹⁹ I am a stranger on the earth. Do not hide your commandments from me. ²⁰ My soul is consumed with longing for your decrees at all times. ²¹ You rebuke the arrogant, the accursed, who stray from your commands. ²² Remove from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies. ²³ Though princes sit and slander me, your servant will meditate on your statutes. ²⁴ Yea, Thy testimonies are my delight, they are my counsellors. ²⁵ My soul is laid low in the dust; revive me according to Your word! ²⁶ I declared my ways, and you answered me. Teach me your statutes. ²⁷ Let me understand the teaching of your precepts! Then I will meditate on your wondrous works. ²⁸ My soul is weary with sorrow: strengthen me according to your word. ²⁹ Remove from me the deceptive way, and graciously give me your law. ³⁰ I have chosen the way of truth. I have set your ordinances before me. ³¹ I cling to your testimonies; O LORD, do not let me be put to shame. ³² I run in the path of your commandments, for you have set my heart free. ³³ HEY Teach me, LORD, the way of your statutes. I will keep them to the end. ³⁴ Make me understand, and I will preserve Your law And keep it with all my heart." ³⁵ aim me in the path of your misvoth; for therein I delight: ³⁶ Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain. ³⁷ Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways. ³⁸ Fulfill your promise to your servant, that you may be feared. ³⁹ Take away my disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances are good. ⁴⁰ Look, I long for your precepts. Revive me in your righteousness. ⁴¹ And let Your benignities come to me, O LORD, Your salvation according to Your promise." ⁴² Then I will have an answer for the one who taunts me, for I trust your word. ⁴³ Do not snatch the word of truth out of my mouth, for I put my hope in your ordinances. ⁴⁴ Then I will always keep your Law, forever and ever, ⁴⁵ I will walk in liberty, for I have sought your precepts. ⁴⁶ I also will speak of your testimonies before kings and will not be put to shame. ⁴⁷ I will delight myself in your commandments, because I love them. ⁴⁸ I will lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes. ⁴⁹ ZAYIN Remember your word to your servant, because you gave me hope. ⁵⁰ This is my comfort in my misery: that your word preserves my life. ⁵¹ The arrogant mock me excessively, but I do not swerve from your Law. ⁵² I have remembered your ancient ordinances, LORD, and I take comfort in them. ⁵³ Rage seizes me because of the wicked, those who forsake your law. ⁵⁴ Your statutes have been my songs in the house where I live. ⁵⁵ In the night I remember your name, LORD, and keep your instruction. ⁵⁶ This has become mine, that I observe your precepts. ⁵⁷ You are my Portion, O LORD; I have promised to keep Your words." ⁵⁸ I have sought your favor with all of my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. ⁵⁹ I considered my ways, and turned my steps to your statutes. ⁶⁰ I will hurry, and not delay, to obey your commandments. ⁶¹ The ropes of the wicked bind me, but I won’t forget your law. ⁶² At midnight I will get up to thank you for your righteous ordinances. ⁶³ I am a friend of all those who fear you, of those who observe your precepts. ⁶⁴ The earth is full of your loving kindness! O LORD teach me your statutes. ⁶⁵ TET. Do good to your servant, according to your word, LORD. ⁶⁶ Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments. ⁶⁷ Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. ⁶⁸ You are good and are doing us good; Teach me Your statutes. ⁶⁹ The arrogant smear me with lies; I keep your precepts with my whole heart. ⁷⁰ Their heart is callous and fat, but I delight in Your law. ⁷¹ It is good for me that I was afflicted, so that I might learn your statutes. ⁷² The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. ⁷³ ( ι - [Yod.]) Your hands made and formed me; give me understanding, that I may learn your commands. ⁷⁴ May those who fear you see me and be glad, for I have hoped in your word. ⁷⁵ I know, O LORD, that your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me. ⁷⁶ Now may Your benignity become my comfort, According to Your promise to Your servant." ⁷⁷ Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight. ⁷⁸ Let the arrogant be ashamed, for they subvert me with a lie. I shall meditate on your precepts. ⁷⁹ Let those who fear you turn to me. They will know your statutes. ⁸⁰ Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed. ⁸¹ My soul is exhausted looking for Your salvation; I have set my hope in Your word. ⁸² My eyes fail for your word. I say, "When will you comfort me?" ⁸³ For I am like a wineskin in the smoke; I do not forget Your Precepts. ⁸⁴ How many days must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who persecute me? ⁸⁵ The proud have dug pits for me, contrary to your law. ⁸⁶ All Your commands are faithful; they persecute me with lying; help me! ⁸⁷ They had almost wiped me from the earth, but I did not forsake your precepts. ⁸⁸ Preserve my life according to your loving kindness, so I will obey the statutes of your mouth. ⁸⁹ LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in the heavens. ⁹⁰ Your faithfulness is throughout all generations. You established the earth, and it stands. ⁹¹ Your laws remain to this day, for all things serve you. ⁹² If your law had not been my delight I would have perished in my affliction. ⁹³ I will never forget your precepts, for with them, you have revived me. ⁹⁴ I am yours. Save me, for I have sought your precepts. ⁹⁵ The wicked have waited for me, to destroy me. I will consider your statutes. ⁹⁶ Of all perfection I saw a limit; thy command is very broad. ⁹⁷ O How I love your law! It is my meditation all day long. ⁹⁸ Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, because they are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more insight than all my teachers, for your laws are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I have more common sense than the elders, for I observe your precepts. ¹⁰¹ I have kept my feet from every evil way, so that I might keep Your Word. ¹⁰² I have not departed from your judgments: for you have taught me. ¹⁰³ How sweet are your words to my taste! Give me life, O LORD, according to your ordinances. ¹⁵⁰ Those who pursue a wicked purpose draw near; they are far from your law. ¹⁵¹ You are near, O LORD, and all your commands are truth. ¹⁵² Of old I have known from your laws that you have founded them forever. ¹⁵³ Resh. May your ordinances help me. ¹⁷⁶ I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant; for I have not forgotten Your commandments.
