Psalms 111:1-150:6 Praise the LORD! I will thank the LORD with all my heart; in the council of the upright, and of the assembly.

VIN⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ Praise the LORD! I will thank the LORD with all my heart; in the council of the upright, and of the assembly. ² Great are the works of the LORD, Sought after by all who delight in them." ³ Glorious and majestic is his doing, and his righteousness endureth for ever. ⁴ He has made his wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate. ⁵ He gives food to those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. ⁶ He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the heritage of the nations. ⁷ The works of his hands are faithfulness and justice; all his precepts are reliable. ⁸ They are sustained forever and ever, done with faithfulness and uprightness. ⁹ He sent redemption unto his people: he has commanded his covenant forever: holy and awesome is his name. ¹⁰ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who do them have a good understanding. His praise endures forever. ¹¹² ¹ Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD; he takes great delight in his commands. ² His seed will be mighty in the land, the generation of the upright will be blessed. ³ Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. ⁴ Risen—in darkness, is light to the upright, The gracious and compassionate and righteous. ⁵ Well will it be with the man who is kind, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with justice. ⁶ For he will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered forever. ⁷ He will not be afraid of evil news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. ⁸ His heart is secure, he has no fears; in the end he will look in triumph on his adversaries. ⁹ He has scattered abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be lifted up with honor. ¹⁰ The wicked shall see it, and be vexed; he will gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the longing of the wicked shall perish. ¹¹³ ¹ Praise the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. ² Let the name of the Lord be blessed, now and forevermore. ³ From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. ⁴ The LORD is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens. ⁵ Who is like the LORD our God, who is enthroned on high, ⁶ who stoops down to view both heaven and earth? ⁷ He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the dunghill ⁸ to seat them with princes, with the princes of his people. ⁹ He settles the barren woman in her home, as a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD. ¹¹⁴ ¹ When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign language, ² Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. ³ The sea looked and fled; the Jordan turned back; ⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. ⁵ What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back? ⁶ O mountains, that you skipped like rams? O hills, like lambs? ⁷ Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, ⁸ who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of waters. ¹¹⁵ ¹ Not to us, LORD, not to us, but to your name be given glory on account of your gracious love and faithfulness. ² Why do the nations say, Where is their God now? ³ Our God is in heaven. He does whatever he pleases. ⁴ Their idols, are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men,— ⁵ They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see. ⁶ they have ears, but they cannot hear; they have noses, but they cannot smell; ⁷ They have hands but they cannot feel: They have feet, but they cannot walk: nor can they utter a sound with their throat. ⁸ Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them. ⁹ House of Israel, trust in the LORD; He is their Help and their Shield." ¹⁰ O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. ¹¹ You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their helper and shield. ¹² The LORD remembers us. He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel. He will bless the house of Aaron. ¹³ He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great. ¹⁴ May the LORD give you increase, you and your children. ¹⁵ May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth. ¹⁶ The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but he gave the earth to human beings. ¹⁷ The dead do not praise the LORD, nor any who go down into silence, ¹⁸ but we will bless the LORD, from now on and forever. Praise the LORD! ¹¹⁶ ¹ I love the LORD because he has heard my prayer for mercy; ² Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. ³ The cords of death compassed me, and the pains of Sheol gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow ⁴ Then I called on the name of the LORD: "O LORD, please save my life!" ⁵ The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate; ⁶ The LORD preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me. ⁷ Return to your rest, O soul; for the LORD has blessed you. ⁸ For You have delivered my soul from death, my eye from tears, my feet from stumbling. ⁹ I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁰ I believed, therefore I said, "I am greatly afflicted." ¹¹ I said in my haste, "All men are liars." ¹² How can I repay the LORD for all the good that he has done for me? ¹³ I will lift up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people. ¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. ¹⁶ LORD, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid. You have freed me from my chains. ¹⁷ I will bring you a thanksgiving offering and call on the name of the LORD! ¹⁸ I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of the house of the LORD; in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD! ¹¹⁷ ¹ Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. ² For his mercy is great toward us; and the truth of the LORD [endureth] for ever. Praise ye the LORD ¹¹⁸ ¹ Give thanks to the LORD for He is good, for His grace endures forever. ² Let Israel say, "His loyal love is forever." ³ Let the house of Aaron say, "His loyal love is forever." ⁴ Let those who fear the LORD say, "His loyal love is forever." ⁵ In my distress I called to the LORD; he answered me and set me free. ⁶ the LORD is with me, I will not be afraid; what can man do to me? ⁷ the LORD is for me as my helper, and so I will look in triumph on those who hate me. ⁸ It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. ⁹ It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. ¹⁰ All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the LORD, I cut them off. ¹¹ They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. In the name of the LORD I indeed cut them off. ¹² They surrounded me like bees but they are quenched like the burning thorns. In the name of the LORD I cut them off. ¹³ I was pushed, yea pushed so as to fall, Yet the LORD, He helped me." ¹⁴ The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. ¹⁵ The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD does mighty things. ¹⁶ the LORD's right hand is exalted; the LORD's right hand does valiantly. ¹⁷ I shall not die: but live and proclaim the works of the Lord. ¹⁸ The LORD has chastened me severely: but he has not given me over unto death. ¹⁹ Open for me the gates of righteousness, and I will go in at them and give thanks to the Lord. ²⁰ This is the gate of the LORD, through which the righteous will enter. ²¹ I will give thee thanks, for thou hast answered me, and art become my salvation. ²² The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. ²³ From the LORD came this; It is marvelous in our eyes. ²⁴ This is the day the LORD has made let us rejoice and be glad in it! ²⁵ O Lord, save me: O Lord, give good success. ²⁶ Blessed be he that comes in the name of the LORD; from the house of the LORD we bless you. ²⁷ The LORD is God, and he has given us light. Bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar. ²⁸ You are my God, and I will give thanks to you. You are my God, I will exalt you. ²⁹ O give thanks to the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. ¹¹⁹ ¹ ALEPH. Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. ² Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart. ³ Yes, they do nothing wrong. They walk in his ways. ⁴ You have commanded your precepts, that we should fully obey them. ⁵ Oh that my ways were steadfast to obey your statutes! ⁶ Then I would not be ashamed when I look to all your commands. ⁷ I will praise you with an upright heart, as I learn your righteous decrees. ⁸ I will heed your statutes; do not utterly forsake me. ⁹ BET How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. ¹⁰ I have sought you with all of my heart; do not let me drift away from your commands. ¹¹ I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. ¹² Praise you, O LORD. Teach me your statutes. ¹³ With my lips I recount All the ordinances from Your mouth. ¹⁴ I rejoice in the way of your witnesses as over all wealth; ¹⁵ I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways. ¹⁶ I am delighted with your statutes; I will not forget your word. ¹⁷ GIMEL Do good to your servant. I will live and I will obey your word. ¹⁸ Open my eyes that I may observe wonderful things from your law. ¹⁹ I am a stranger on the earth. Do not hide your commandments from me. ²⁰ My soul is consumed with longing for your decrees at all times. ²¹ You rebuke the arrogant, the accursed, who stray from your commands. ²² Remove from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies. ²³ Though princes sit and slander me, your servant will meditate on your statutes. ²⁴ Yea, Thy testimonies are my delight, they are my counsellors. ²⁵ My soul is laid low in the dust; revive me according to Your word! ²⁶ I declared my ways, and you answered me. Teach me your statutes. ²⁷ Let me understand the teaching of your precepts! Then I will meditate on your wondrous works. ²⁸ My soul is weary with sorrow: strengthen me according to your word. ²⁹ Remove from me the deceptive way, and graciously give me your law. ³⁰ I have chosen the way of truth. I have set your ordinances before me. ³¹ I cling to your testimonies; O LORD, do not let me be put to shame. ³² I run in the path of your commandments, for you have set my heart free. ³³ HEY Teach me, LORD, the way of your statutes. I will keep them to the end. ³⁴ Make me understand, and I will preserve Your law And keep it with all my heart." ³⁵ aim me in the path of your misvoth; for therein I delight: ³⁶ Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain. ³⁷ Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways. ³⁸ Fulfill your promise to your servant, that you may be feared. ³⁹ Take away my disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances are good. ⁴⁰ Look, I long for your precepts. Revive me in your righteousness. ⁴¹ And let Your benignities come to me, O LORD, Your salvation according to Your promise." ⁴² Then I will have an answer for the one who taunts me, for I trust your word. ⁴³ Do not snatch the word of truth out of my mouth, for I put my hope in your ordinances. ⁴⁴ Then I will always keep your Law, forever and ever, ⁴⁵ I will walk in liberty, for I have sought your precepts. ⁴⁶ I also will speak of your testimonies before kings and will not be put to shame. ⁴⁷ I will delight myself in your commandments, because I love them. ⁴⁸ I will lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes. ⁴⁹ ZAYIN Remember your word to your servant, because you gave me hope. ⁵⁰ This is my comfort in my misery: that your word preserves my life. ⁵¹ The arrogant mock me excessively, but I do not swerve from your Law. ⁵² I have remembered your ancient ordinances, LORD, and I take comfort in them. ⁵³ Rage seizes me because of the wicked, those who forsake your law. ⁵⁴ Your statutes have been my songs in the house where I live. ⁵⁵ In the night I remember your name, LORD, and keep your instruction. ⁵⁶ This has become mine, that I observe your precepts. ⁵⁷ You are my Portion, O LORD; I have promised to keep Your words." ⁵⁸ I have sought your favor with all of my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. ⁵⁹ I considered my ways, and turned my steps to your statutes. ⁶⁰ I will hurry, and not delay, to obey your commandments. ⁶¹ The ropes of the wicked bind me, but I won’t forget your law. ⁶² At midnight I will get up to thank you for your righteous ordinances. ⁶³ I am a friend of all those who fear you, of those who observe your precepts. ⁶⁴ The earth is full of your loving kindness! O LORD teach me your statutes. ⁶⁵ TET. Do good to your servant, according to your word, LORD. ⁶⁶ Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments. ⁶⁷ Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. ⁶⁸ You are good and are doing us good; Teach me Your statutes. ⁶⁹ The arrogant smear me with lies; I keep your precepts with my whole heart. ⁷⁰ Their heart is callous and fat, but I delight in Your law. ⁷¹ It is good for me that I was afflicted, so that I might learn your statutes. ⁷² The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. ⁷³ ( ι - [Yod.]) Your hands made and formed me; give me understanding, that I may learn your commands. ⁷⁴ May those who fear you see me and be glad, for I have hoped in your word. ⁷⁵ I know, O LORD, that your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me. ⁷⁶ Now may Your benignity become my comfort, According to Your promise to Your servant." ⁷⁷ Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight. ⁷⁸ Let the arrogant be ashamed, for they subvert me with a lie. I shall meditate on your precepts. ⁷⁹ Let those who fear you turn to me. They will know your statutes. ⁸⁰ Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed. ⁸¹ My soul is exhausted looking for Your salvation; I have set my hope in Your word. ⁸² My eyes fail for your word. I say, "When will you comfort me?" ⁸³ For I am like a wineskin in the smoke; I do not forget Your Precepts. ⁸⁴ How many days must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who persecute me? ⁸⁵ The proud have dug pits for me, contrary to your law. ⁸⁶ All Your commands are faithful; they persecute me with lying; help me! ⁸⁷ They had almost wiped me from the earth, but I did not forsake your precepts. ⁸⁸ Preserve my life according to your loving kindness, so I will obey the statutes of your mouth. ⁸⁹ LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in the heavens. ⁹⁰ Your faithfulness is throughout all generations. You established the earth, and it stands. ⁹¹ Your laws remain to this day, for all things serve you. ⁹² If your law had not been my delight I would have perished in my affliction. ⁹³ I will never forget your precepts, for with them, you have revived me. ⁹⁴ I am yours. Save me, for I have sought your precepts. ⁹⁵ The wicked have waited for me, to destroy me. I will consider your statutes. ⁹⁶ Of all perfection I saw a limit; thy command is very broad. ⁹⁷ O How I love your law! It is my meditation all day long. ⁹⁸ Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, because they are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more insight than all my teachers, for your laws are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I have more common sense than the elders, for I observe your precepts. ¹⁰¹ I have kept my feet from every evil way, so that I might keep Your Word. ¹⁰² I have not departed from your judgments: for you have taught me. ¹⁰³ How sweet are your words to my taste! Sweeter than honey to my mouth! ¹⁰⁴ I obtain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every false way. ¹⁰⁵ NUN Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. ¹⁰⁶ I have sworn, and have confirmed it, that I will obey your righteous ordinances. ¹⁰⁷ I am afflicted very much. Revive me, O LORD, according to your word. ¹⁰⁸ Accept, O Lord, the freewill offerings of my mouth, and teach me Your judgments. ¹⁰⁹ Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I do not forget your instruction. ¹¹⁰ The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I have not gone-astray from your precepts. ¹¹¹ I inherited thy testimonies forever: for they are the joy of my heart. ¹¹² My heart is ever ready to keep your rules, even to the end. ¹¹³ SAMEKH I hate double-minded men, but I love your law. ¹¹⁴ You are my covert and my shield; I hope in Your word. ¹¹⁵ Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God. ¹¹⁶ Sustain me according to your word that I may live. Do not let me be ashamed of my hope. ¹¹⁷ Hold me up, and I shall be safe; and I will always have respect to Your Precepts. ¹¹⁸ You reject all those who stray from your statutes, for their deceit is in vain. ¹¹⁹ You remove all the wicked of the earth like dross; therefore I love your decrees. ¹²⁰ My flesh trembles for fear of you. I am afraid of your judgments. ¹²¹ [Ayin] I have done what is right and just: leave me not to my oppressors. ¹²² Ensure your servant's well-being. Don't let the proud oppress me. ¹²³ My eyes fail looking for your salvation, for your righteous word. ¹²⁴ Deal with your servant according to your mercy, and teach me your statutes. ¹²⁵ I am your servant; give me understanding, that I may know your statutes. ¹²⁶ It is time to act, LORD, for they break your Law. ¹²⁷ Therefore I love your commandments more than gold, yes, more than pure gold. ¹²⁸ Therefore I consider all of your precepts to be right. I hate every false way. ¹²⁹ Your laws are wonderful. Therefore I obey them! ¹³⁰ The unfolding of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple. ¹³¹ I open my mouth and pant as I long for your commands. ¹³² Turn to me, and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. ¹³³ Fix my steps in Your word; and let no evil rule over me. ¹³⁴ Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep your precepts. ¹³⁵ Make your face shine upon your servant, and teach me your statutes. ¹³⁶ Streams of waters flowed down my eyes when I kept not your law. ¹³⁷ {Tsadi} Righteous art thou, O LORD, and true is thy judgment. ¹³⁸ You have commanded Your statutes in righteousness; they are fully trustworthy. ¹³⁹ My zeal wears me out, because my enemies ignore your words. ¹⁴⁰ Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them. ¹⁴¹ I am small and despised. I do not forget your precepts. ¹⁴² Your righteousness is forever, and Your law is truth. ¹⁴³ Trouble and anguish have taken hold of me, but Your commandments are my delight. ¹⁴⁴ Your laws are righteous forever. Give me understanding that I may live. ¹⁴⁵ I cried with all my heart. Answer me, O LORD! I will observe your statutes. ¹⁴⁶ I call out to You; O save me, And I will keep Your testimonies." ¹⁴⁷ I rise before dawn and cry for help. I put my hope in your words. ¹⁴⁸ My eyes stay open through the night watches, that I might meditate on your word. ¹⁴⁹ Hear my voice according to your loving kindness. Give me life, O LORD, according to your ordinances. ¹⁵⁰ Those who pursue a wicked purpose draw near; they are far from your law. ¹⁵¹ You are near, O LORD, and all your commands are truth. ¹⁵² Of old I have known from your laws that you have founded them forever. ¹⁵³ Resh. Look on my affliction and deliver me; for I do not forget Your law. ¹⁵⁴ Defend my case and redeem me; revive me according to your promise. ¹⁵⁵ Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes. ¹⁵⁶ Your mercies are great, O LORD; preserve my life according to your ordinances. ¹⁵⁷ Many are they that persecute me and oppress me; but I have not declined from Your testimonies. ¹⁵⁸ I look at the faithless with loathing, because they do not observe your word. ¹⁵⁹ See how I love your precepts; enliven me, O Yah Veh, according to your mercy. ¹⁶⁰ All of your words are truth. Every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever. ¹⁶¹ Princes persecute me without cause, but my heart trembles because of your word. ¹⁶² I rejoice at your word, as one who finds great spoil. ¹⁶³ I hate and abhor falsehood but I love Your law. ¹⁶⁴ Seven times in a day I praise You For Your righteous ordinances. ¹⁶⁵ Great peace have they who love thy law: and nothing shall cause them to stumble. ¹⁶⁶ I hope for your salvation, O LORD, and do your commands. ¹⁶⁷ I obey your laws and love them exceedingly. ¹⁶⁸ I have obeyed your precepts and your testimonies, for all my ways are before you. ¹⁶⁹ Let my cry come before you, O LORD; give me understanding according to your word. ¹⁷⁰ Let my supplication come before you: deliver me according to your word. ¹⁷¹ May my lips utter praise, for you teach me your statutes. ¹⁷² Let my tongue sing of your word, for all your commandments are righteousness. ¹⁷³ Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts. ¹⁷⁴ I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law is my delight. ¹⁷⁵ Let me live that it may praise you. May your ordinances help me. ¹⁷⁶ I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant; for I have not forgotten Your commandments. ¹²⁰ ¹ A Song of Ascents. I cried to the LORD in my distress, and he responded to me. ² Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue! ³ What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, deceitful tongue? ⁴ The arrows of the hero sharpened, with burning coals of broom. ⁵ Woe is me, that I live in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar! ⁶ I have lived too long with those who hate peace. ⁷ I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war. ¹²¹ ¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? ² My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. ³ He will not give your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. ⁴ Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. ⁵ the LORD is your protector; the LORD is your shade at your right hand. ⁶ The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. ⁷ The LORD will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. ⁸ The LORD will guard your goings and comings, from this time on and forever. ¹²² ¹ A song of ascents. Of David. I rejoiced in those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD." ² Our feet are standing In your gateways, O Jerusalem, ³ Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together: ⁴ Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, to the testimony of Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD. ⁵ for there the thrones of judgment settle - the thrones of the house of David. ⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be at ease. ⁷ May peace be within your walls, security within your palaces." ⁸ For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will say, "Peace be within you." ⁹ For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good. ¹²³ ¹ A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to you, the one enthroned in the heavens. ² Look, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes look to the LORD, our God, until he has mercy on us. ³ Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. ⁴ For long enough have men of pride made sport of our soul. ¹²⁴ ¹ A Song of degrees of David. ¶ If the LORD had not been for us, now may Israel say, ² if the LORD had not been on our side, when men came against us, ³ then they had swallowed us alive when they kindled their wrath against us: ⁴ Then the flood waters would have overwhelmed us, the torrent would have flooded over us; ⁵ the swollen waters would have swept us away. ⁶ Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be wounded by their teeth. ⁷ Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowlers' snare; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. ⁸ Our help is in the name of the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth. ¹²⁵ ¹ A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. ² As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people from this time forth and forevermore. ³ For the scepter of wickedness won't remain over the allotment of the righteous; so that the righteous won't use their hands to do evil. ⁴ Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in heart. ⁵ And those who turn aside to their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel. ¹²⁶ ¹ When the LORD brought back those who returned to Zion, we were like those who dream. 2 Then our mouths were filled with laughter, and our tongues formed joyful shouts. By Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. ² It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones. ³ Children are an inheritance from the LORD. They are a blessing from him. ⁴ Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. ⁵ Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They shall not be put to shame when they speak with their enemies in the gate. ¹²⁸ ¹ A song of ascents. Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways. ² for you eat the labor of your palms; blithed - and good with you ³ Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house. Your children will be like olive shoots about your table. ⁴ Look, thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD. ⁵ May the LORD bless you from Zion so that you may see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life. ⁶ And may you see your children's children. Let Israel say, ² Often they distressed me from my youth, Yet they have not prevailed over me. ³ The plowers plowed on my back. They made their furrows long. ⁴ The LORD is righteous he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked. ⁵ Let all who hate Zion be turned away and be ashamed. ⁶ Let them be like grass on the housetops, that withers before it grows up, ⁷ with which a reaper cannot fill his hand, nor the binder of sheaves his arms, ⁸ Nor do those who pass by say: "The blessing of the LORD be upon you! We bless you in the name of the LORD." ¹³⁰ ¹ A song of ascents. Out of the depths I call to you, O LORD. ² Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions. ³ If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? ⁴ But with you there is forgiveness, so that you may be feared. ⁵ I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His Word I hope. ⁶ My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. ⁷ O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption ⁸ He will redeem Israel from all their sins. ¹³¹ ¹ LORD, my heart isn't haughty, nor my eyes lofty; nor do I concern myself with great matters, or things too wonderful for me. 2 Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me. ³ O Israel, hope in the LORD from now until forever. ¹³² ¹ [A song of ascents.] LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions: ² Remember how he swore an oath to the LORD and made this vow to the Mighty One of Jacob. ³ "I will not enter my house, or lie down on my bed, ⁴ I will give no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids, ⁵ until I find out a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." ⁶ We heard about it in Ephrata; we found it in the fields of Jaar. ⁷ Let us go to his dwelling place. Let us worship at his footstool. ⁸ Arise, LORD, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your strength. ⁹ Let your priests be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!” ¹⁰ For the sake of your servant David do not reject your anointed one. ¹¹ The LORD made an oath to David from which he will not retreat: "One of your sons I will set in place on your throne. ¹² If your sons keep my covenant and my statutes that I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever." ¹³ For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling. ¹⁴ "This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it. ¹⁵ I will bless its provisions abundantly; I will satiate its poor with food.f ¹⁶ And I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. ¹⁷ There I will cause a horn to grow for David; I will set a lamp for my anointed one. ¹⁸ I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent." ¹³³ ¹ A song of ascents. Look, how good and how pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity. ² It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard, Aaron's beard, coming down upon the edge of his robes. ³ Like the dew of Hermon, which fell upon the hill of Zion. For there the LORD promised his blessing, and life forevermore. ¹³⁴ ¹ Behold, praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, who stand by night in the house of the LORD. ² Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and praise the LORD. ³ May the LORD who fashions heaven and earth bless you from Zion. ¹³⁵ ¹ Praise the LORD. Praise the name of the LORD. Praise him, you servants of the LORD, ² you who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God. ³ Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good. Sing praises to his name, for that is pleasant. ⁴ For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself; Israel for his own possession. ⁵ For I know that the LORD is great, and our Lord is greater than all gods. ⁶ The LORD does whatever pleases him in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all its deep regions. ⁷ He causes clouds to rise from the edge of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain; he brings out the wind from his storehouses. ⁸ He struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animal. ⁹ He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. ¹⁰ He struck many nations, and killed mighty kings, ¹¹ Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan, ¹² and he gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel. ¹³ Your name, LORD, endures forever; your renown, LORD, throughout all generations. ¹⁴ For the LORD will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants. ¹⁵ The idols of the nations are silver and gold, Work of the hands of man. ¹⁶ They have a mouth, but cannot speak: eyes they have, but they cannot see; ¹⁷ they have ears, but they do not hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. ¹⁸ Those who make them will be like them, yes, everyone who trusts in them. ¹⁹ O house of Israel, praise the LORD. Those who tormented us demanded songs of joy: "Sing us one of the songs of Zion." ⁴ How could we sing the song of the LORD in a foreign land? ⁵ If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill. ⁶ Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not consider Jerusalem my highest joy. ⁷ Remember, O LORD, against the sons of Edom, the day of Jerusalem; who said, Lay [it] bare, Lay [it] bare, down to its foundation! ⁸ Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, he will be happy who repays you, as you have done to us. ⁹ Blessed is he who seizes your little ones and dashes them against the stone! ¹³⁸ ¹ Of David. I give you thanks with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise. ² I will bow down toward Your holy temple, and give thanks to Your Name for Your grace and for Your truth; for You have exalted above all things your name and your word. ³ When I called, you answered me. You made me bold. You strengthened me. ⁴ All the kings of the earth shall praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth. ⁵ Yes, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD; for the glory of the LORD is great. ⁶ Though the LORD is high, yet He looks upon the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar. ⁷ Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve me alive. You understand my thought from afar. ³ Thou measurest my going about and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. ⁴ For not a word is on my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, You know it all. ⁵ You hem me in behind and before, You have laid Your hand on me. ⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; too high, I cannot attain unto it. ⁷ Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? ⁸ If I go up to heaven, you are there: or if I make my bed in the underworld, you are there. ⁹ If I lift up the wings of the dawn, and I alight on the far side of the sea, ¹⁰ even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me. ¹¹ If I say: Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light around me. ¹² even the darkness doesn’t hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness is like light to you. ¹³ For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. ¹⁴ I praise you, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it well. ¹⁵ My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. ¹⁶ Your eyes saw my embryo and all were written in your book; the days ordained for me. Even this before one had taken place. ¹⁷ How precious to me are your thoughts, God. How vast is the sum of them. ¹⁸ If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with you. ¹⁹ If only you, God, would kill the wicked. Get away from me, you bloodthirsty men! ²⁰ For they go against you with evil designs, and your haters make sport of your name. ²¹ Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD? And do I not loathe those who rise up against you? ²² I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them my enemies. ²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. ²⁴ And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. ¹⁴⁰ ¹ For the music director. A psalm of David. Rescue me, O LORD, from evil men. Preserve me from violent men, ² who craft evil plans in their minds, inciting wars every day. ³ They sharpen their tongue as sharp as a snake's; the venom of a viper is under their lips. Selah ⁴ Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the man of violence, who have purposed to overthrow my steps. ⁵ The proud have hidden a snare for me, they have spread the cords of a net by the path. They have set traps for me. Selah. ⁶ I have said to the Lord, You are my God: give ear, O Lord, to the voice of my prayer. ⁷ LORD, my Lord, my strong deliverer, you have protected my head in the time of battle. ⁸ LORD, do not grant the desires of the wicked. Do not let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah. ⁹ Let the heads of those who surround me be covered with their own threats. ¹⁰ Let burning coals fall upon them! Let them be cast into fire, into miry pits, no more to rise. ¹¹ Let not the slanderer become established in the land. May evil quickly hunt down the violent man. ¹² I know that the lord shall deal with the case of the poor, and the cause of the needy. ¹³ Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name, while the upright live in your presence. ¹⁴¹ ¹ A Psalm of David. O LORD, I cry to You; hasten to me; hear my voice when I cry to You. ² Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice. ³ Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. ⁴ Let not my heart turn aside to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men who work iniquity; and let me not eat of their delicacies. ⁵ Let the righteous strike me, it is kindness; let him reprove me, it is like oil on the head; don't let my head refuse it; Yet my prayer is always against evil deeds. ⁶ Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock. They will hear my words, for they are well spoken. ⁷ As when one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol. ⁸ But my eyes are on You, O Sovereign LORD; in You I take refuge, do not leave my soul naked. ⁹ Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, from the traps of evildoers. ¹⁰ Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass over. ¹⁴² ¹ I cry with my voice to the LORD. With my voice, I ask the LORD for mercy. 2 I pour out my complaint before him. I tell him my troubles. ³ When my spirit faints within me, you know my way. On the path where I walk, they have hidden a trap for me; ⁴ Look on my right, and see; for there is no one who is concerned for me. Refuge has fled from me. No one cares for my soul. ⁵ I cry out to you, O LORD. I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living." ⁶ Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need. Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. ⁷ Release me from prison so that I may praise your name. Righteous people will surround me because you are good to me. ¹⁴³ ¹ A psalm of David. O LORD, hear my prayer; listen to my supplications. In your faithfulness answer me, and in your righteousness. ² And do not enter into judgment with your servant, because no one alive is righteous before you. ³ For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground. He has made me dwell in dark places like those long dead. ⁴ And so my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is desolate. ⁵ I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your doings. I muse on the labor of your hands. ⁶ I spread out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah. ⁷ Answer me quickly, O LORD for my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will become like those who go down to the pit. ⁸ In the morning let me hear of your gracious love, for in you I trust. Cause me to know the way I should take, because I have set my hope on you. ⁹ Deliver me from my enemies, O LORD. I take refuge in you. ¹⁰ Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground. ¹¹ For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life; in your righteousness bring me out of trouble. ¹² In your loving kindness, cut off my enemies and destroy all those who afflict me. Blessed is the LORD my rock, who is teaching My hands for war, my fingers for battle. ² my loyal love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, and one in whom I take refuge, the one who subdues peoples under me. ³ LORD, what is man, that you care for him? Or the son of man, that you think of him? ⁴ Man is like the breath: his days are like a passing shadow. ⁵ Part your heavens, LORD, and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke. ⁶ Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy, shoot your arrows and confuse them. ⁷ Stretch out your hands from on high; Rescue me and deliver me from many waters, from the hand of foreigners, ⁸ Their mouths speak lies, and their right hand deceives, ⁹ I will sing a new song to you, God. On a ten-stringed lyre, I will sing praises to you. ¹⁰ You who gives salvation to kings, who delivers His servant David from the evil sword. ¹¹ Rescue me and deliver me from the control of foreigners, whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand deceives. ¹² Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants, our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace. ¹³ Our barns will be full, filled with all kinds of provision; our sheep will bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields. ¹⁴ Our oxen will pull heavy loads, there will be no breaking in and no going away, and no crying in our streets. ¹⁵ Blessed are the people who have it thus. Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD. ¹⁴⁵ ¹ A praise psalm by David. I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever. ² Every day I will praise you. I will extol your name forever and ever. ³ Great is the LORD, and very worthy of praise, and his greatness is unsearchable. ⁴ One generation will commend your works to another, and will declare your mighty acts. ⁵ I will speak of the glorious honor of Your majesty, and of Your wonderful works. ⁶ And they will speak of the power of your awesome deeds, and I will tell of your greatness. ⁷ They will utter the memory of your great goodness, and will sing of your righteousness. ⁸ the LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in loyal love. ⁹ the LORD is good to all, And His compassions are over all His works." ¹⁰ All your works will give thanks to you, the LORD. Your saints will extol you. ¹¹ They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your might; ¹² To make known to the children of men his mighty acts, and the glorious splendour of his kingdom. ¹³ Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your dominion endures throughout all generations. the LORD is faithful in all his words, and loving in all his deeds. ¹⁴ the LORD upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down. ¹⁵ The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due time. ¹⁶ You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing. ¹⁷ The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and faithful in all his deeds. ¹⁸ the LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. ¹⁹ He fulfilleth the desire of them that fear him; he heareth their cry, and saveth them. ²⁰ the LORD watches over all those who love Him; but all the wicked He will destroy. ²¹ My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD! All flesh will praise his holy name forever and ever. ¹⁴⁶ ¹ Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. ² I will praise the LORD while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I am still alive. ³ Don’t put your trust in princes, in a son of man in whom there is no help. ⁴ When they stop breathing, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans evaporate! ⁵ Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God: ⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, the one who keeps faith forever, ⁷ He executes justice for the oppressed. He gives food to the hungry. the LORD sets the prisoners free. ⁸ the LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the righteous. ⁹ the LORD protects the strangers. He supports the fatherless and the widow, but he overthrows the way of the wicked. ¹⁰ The LORD will reign forever; your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD. ¹⁴⁷ ¹ Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant and fitting to praise him. ² the LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel. ³ He heals the broken-hearted, and binds up their wounds. ⁴ He determines the number of the stars; he calls them all by their names. ⁵ Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; his understanding is infinite ⁶ The LORD upholds the humble. He brings the wicked down to the ground. ⁷ Sing to the LORD a song of thanksgiving. Make music to our God with a harp. ⁸ He covers the sky with clouds. He provides rain for the ground. He makes grass grow on the mountains. ⁹ He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call. ¹⁰ He takes no delight in the strength of the horse, nor any pleasure in the legs of a man. ¹¹ the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, the ones who hope for his loyal love. ¹² Laud the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion, ¹³ for he strengthens the bars of your gates. He blesses your children within you; ¹⁴ He grants peace within your borders, satisfying you with the finest of wheat. ¹⁵ He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. ¹⁶ He gives snow like wool: he scatters the frost like ashes. ¹⁷ He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can stand before his cold? ¹⁸ He sends out his word and melts them; he blows his breath, the water flows. ¹⁹ He speaks his word to Jacob, his laws and judgments to Israel. ²⁰ He has not done this for just any nation. They do not know his ordinances. Praise the LORD. ¹⁴⁸ ¹ Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens. Praise him in the heights above. ² Praise him, all his angels: praise him, all his hosts. ³ Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. ⁴ Praise him, you highest heaven and the water above the sky. ⁵ Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. ⁶ And he put them in place forever and ever, by a decree he gave that will not pass away. ⁷ Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures, and all depths. ⁸ lightning and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling his word; ⁹ Ye mountains, and all hills, fruit trees, and all cedars; ¹⁰ wild animals and all livestock; small creatures and flying birds; ¹¹ Ye kings of the earth, and all nations; ye princes, and all judges of the earth; ¹² young men and maidens, old men and children, ¹³ Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above the earth and the heavens. ¹⁴ He also lifts up the horn of His people, the praise of all His saints, of the sons of Israel, a people near to Him, Praise the LORD. ¹⁴⁹ ¹ Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. ² Let Israel rejoice in his Maker; let the sons of Zion be joyful in their King. ³ Let them praise his name with dancing. Let them make music to him with tambourines and lyres. ⁴ For the LORD takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation. ⁵ Let the saints rejoice in honor. Let them sing for joy on their beds. ⁶ May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hand, ⁷ to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, ⁸ to bind their kings with fetters, and their nobles with manacles of iron; ⁹ to carry out on them the judgment written; this is an honor for all His saints. Praise the LORD! ¹⁵⁰ ¹ Praise the LORD! Praise God in his holy place. Praise him in his mighty heavens. ² Praise him for his mighty acts.
