VIN⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁷ Elisha came to Damascus. Now Ben-Hadad king of Aram was ill, and he was told, "The man of God has come up here." ⁸ So the king told Hazael, "Take a gift with you and go meet the man of God. Inquire of the LORD through him and ask, 'Will I recover from this sickness.'" ⁹ So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden, and came and stood before him, and said, "Your son Benhadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, 'Will I recover from this sickness?'" ¹⁰ Elisha said to him, "Go; say to him, 'You shall certainly recover,' but the LORD has shown me that he certainly will die."
