1 Timothy 2:1-15

VIN(i) 1 I urge therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men; 2 for kings and all those in authority, so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable before God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for allthe testimony given at the proper time. 7 To this I was appointed a herald and an apostle — I am telling the truth, I am not lying — a teacher of Gentiles in faith and truth. 8 Therefore, I want men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension. 9 and I would have the women dress becomingly, with modesty and self-control, not with plaited hair or gold or pearls or costly clothes, 10 but with good deeds, as is proper for women who profess to worship God. 11 A woman must learn in quietness and full submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And it was not Adam who was deceived. It was the woman who was deceived and became a lawbreaker. 15 But she will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith, and love, and holiness, with sobriety.
