But if any one hath not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his. ¹⁰ But if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive, because of a justification; ¹¹ and if the spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he who hath raised up the Christ from the dead will quicken even those dead bodies of yours by his spirit which dwelleth in you. ¹² Therefore we, brethren, are not debtors to the flesh, that we should live according to the flesh; ¹³ for if you live according to the flesh, you are dying; but if you by the spirit mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live. ¹⁴ For as many as are led by the spirit of God, are sons of God. ¹⁵ For you have not received a spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received a spirit of adoption, by which we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ This very spirit beareth joint witness with our spirit that we are children of God; ¹⁷ and if children, then heirs; heirs indeed of God, and joint heirs with Christ if we suffer with him so that with him we may also be glorified.
