Jerusalem! thou that killest the prophets and stonest them who are sent to thee! how often have I desired to gather thy children even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings; but you would not! ³⁸ behold this house of yours is left desolate ³⁹ for you. For I say to you, Henceforth you shall not see me until you say, Blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord.
