John 3:26-30

Thomson(i) 26 and they went to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with thee on the bank of the Jordan, to whom thou didst bear testimony, behold he is baptizing, and all are flocking to him. 27 In reply to which, John said, A man can receive nothing from heaven, unless it be given him. 28 You yourselves are witnesses for me that I said, "I am not the Christ; but that I am sent before him. 29 He is the bridegroom, who hath the bride. But the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth exceedingly on the account of the bridegroom's voice. This joy of mine therefore, is complete. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
