John 19:38-42

Thomson(i) 38 After this, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but for fear of the Jews, a concealed one, asked leave of Pilate to take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate granted it. He therefore came and took away the body of Jesus. 39 And Nicodemus, he who formerly came to Jesus by night, came also with a mixture of myrrh and aloes, weighing about a hundred pounds. 40 So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it up in linen swathings with the spices, according to the Jewish custom of embalming. 41 Now at the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. 42 Therefore on account of the preparation of the Jews, they laid Jesus there, because the tomb was nigh at hand.
