1 Chronicles 28:6-10 And God hath said to me, Thy son Solomon shall build my house, and my court; for I have chosen him to be my son; and I will be to him a father;

Thomson⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁶ And God hath said to me, Thy son Solomon shall build my house, and my court; for I have chosen him to be my son; and I will be to him a father; ⁷ and I will establish his kingdom forever, provided he exert his power to keep my commandments and my judgments as at this day. ⁸ Now therefore, in the presence of all the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, I adjure you to keep and to seek all the commandments of the Lord our God, that you may possess this good land and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you forever. ⁹ And now, Solomon, my son, know thou the God of thy fathers, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searcheth all hearts and knoweth every thought. If thou seek him, he will be found by thee; but if thou forsake him, he will at last forsake thee. ¹⁰ Observe now, since the Lord hath chosen thee to build a house for him for a sanctuary, be strong and do it.
