Riverside⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁷ When he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said, "Brood of vipers, who directed you to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Produce fruit fitting for a change of heart, ⁹ and do not think of saying to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father,' for I tell you God is able out of these stones to raise up children for Abraham. ¹⁰ Now the axe is lying at the root of the trees. Every tree that does not yield good fruit will be cut down and cast into the fire.
