23 for the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church,he, who is the Saviour of the body.
24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it,
26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the bath of the water in the word;
27 that he himself might present to himself the church, glorious, having no spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 In like manner husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself;
29 for no one ever yet hated his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ doth the church;
30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 "For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh."
32 This mystery is a great one; but I am speaking of Christ and of the church.
33 However, do ye also severally love each one his own wife as himself; and let the wife see that she reverence her husband.
