John 2:1-11

Murdock(i) 1 And on the third day there was a feast in Cana, a city of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 And also Jesus and his disciples were invited to the feast. 3 And the wine fell short: and his mother said to Jesus: They have no wine. 4 Jesus said to her: What is in common to me and thee? Not yet hath my hour come. 5 His mother said to the waiters: Whatever he saith to you, do it. 6 And there were there six waterpots of stone, set for the purification of Jews, containing each two or three quadrantalia. 7 Jesus said to them: Fill those water-pots with water. And they filled them to the top. 8 He said to them: Draw now, and carry to the master of the feast. And they carried. 9 And when the master of the feast tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know whence it came, (although the waiters knew, as they had filled the pots with water,) the master of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 and said to him: Every man first bringeth forward the good wine, and when they are satiated, then that which is inferior; but thou hast kept the good wine till now. 11 This is the first sign, which Jesus wrought at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory: and his disciples believed on him.
