Luke 2:23-33

Matthew(i) 23 (as it is wryttem in the lawe of the Lorde: euerye male that fyrst openeth the mattrix, shall be called holye to the Lord) 24 and to offer (as it is sayde in the lawe of the Lorde) a payre of turtel doues or two yonge pygyons. 25 And beholde ther was a man in Hierusalem whose name was Symeon. And the same man was iuste and feared God, and longed for the consolacion of Israel and the holye ghost was in him. 26 And an aunswere was geuen him of the holye ghost, that he shoulde not se death, before he had sene the Lordes Christe. 27 And he came by inspiration into the tempell. And when the father and mother broughte in the childe Iesus, to do for him after the custome of the lawe, 28 then toke he him vp in hys armes and sayed. 29 Lorde. Nowe lettest thou thy seruaunt departe in peace, accordinge to thy promes. 30 For mine eyes haue sene the sauiour sent from the. 31 Which thou hast prepare before the face of all people. 32 A lyght to lighten the gentils and the glorye of thy people Israel. 33 And his father and mother meruayled at those thinges which were spoken of him.
