It is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than to go, having two hands, into hell: into fire that never shall be quenched, ⁴⁴ where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out. ⁴⁵ Likewise, if thy foot offend thee, cut him off. For it is better for thee to go halt into life, than, having two feet, to be cast into hell: into fire that never shall be quenched, ⁴⁶ where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out. ⁴⁷ Even so, if thine eye offend thee, pluck him out. It is better for thee to go into the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire: ⁴⁸ where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out. ⁴⁹ "Every man therefore shall be salted with fire: And every sacrifice shall be seasoned with salt. ⁵⁰ Salt is good. But if the salt be unsavoury: what shall ye salt therewith? See that ye have salt in yourselves. And have peace among yourselves, one with another."
