Either were ye baptised in the name of Paul? ¹⁴ I thank God that I baptised none of you, but Crispus and Gaius, ¹⁵ lest any should say that I in mine own name had baptised. ¹⁶ I baptised also the house of Stephanas. Furthermore know I not whether I baptised any man of you or no. ¹⁷ For Christ sent me not to baptise, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should have been made of none effect.
