Proverbs 3:1-35

MLV(i) 1 My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commandments. 2 Because length of days and years of life and peace, they will add to you.
Do not let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them about your neck, write them upon the tablet of your heart, 4 so you will find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. 6 Acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear Jehovah and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your navel and marrow to your bones.
Honor Jehovah with your substance and with the first-fruits of all your increase, 10 so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.
My son, do not despise the chastening of Jehovah, nor be weary of his reproof. 12 Because whom Jehovah loves he reproves and he whips every son whom he receives.
The man who finds wisdom is fortunate, and the man who gets understanding. 14 Because the gain of it is better than the gain of silver and the profit of it than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies and none of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.
Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold upon her. And everyone who retains her is fortunate.
Jehovah founded the earth by wisdom. He established the heavens by understanding. 20 The depths were broken up and the skies drop down the dew by his knowledge.
My son, do not let them depart from your eyes. Keep sound-wisdom and discretion, 22 so they will be life to your soul and adornment to your neck.
Then you will walk in your way securely and your foot will not stumble. 24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. 25 Do not be afraid of sudden fear, nor of the desolation of the wicked, because it comes. 26 Because Jehovah will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being taken.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, Go and come again and tomorrow I will give, when you have it by you.
Do not devise evil against your neighbor, since he dwells securely by you.
Do not contend with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm.
Do not envy the man of violence and choose none of his ways. 32 Because the perverse man is an abomination to Jehovah, but his friendship is with the upright.
The curse of Jehovah is in the house of a wicked man, but he graces the habitation of the righteous.
Surely the Lord is opposed to the arrogant, but he gives favor to the lowly.
The wise will inherit glory, but shame will be the promotion of fools.
