1 Now you will gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops. He has laid siege against us. They will kill* the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, which are little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of you he will come out to me who is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from long-ago, from the days of everlasting.
3 Therefore he will give them up until the time that she who travails has brought forth. Then the residue of his brothers will return to the sons of Israel. 4 And he will stand and will feed his flock in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah his God and they will abide. For now he will be great to the ends of the earth.
