Psalms 105:1-119:176

MKJV(i) 1 O give thanks to Jehovah; call on His name; make known His deeds among the people. 2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; talk of all His wonderful works. 3 Glory in His holy name; let the heart of those who seek Jehovah rejoice. 4 Seek Jehovah and His strength; seek His face evermore. 5 Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, 6 seed of His servant Abraham, sons of Jacob His chosen. 7 He is Jehovah our God; His judgments are in all the earth. 8 He has remembered His covenant forever, the Word which He commanded to a thousand generations; 9 the covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac; 10 and He confirmed it to Jacob for a Law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant, 11 saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance; 12 when they were a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it. 13 When they went from one nation to another, from a kingdom to another people, 14 He allowed no man to do them wrong; yea, He reproved kings for their sakes, 15 saying, Touch not my anointed, and do My prophets no harm. 16 And He called for a famine on the land; He broke the whole staff of bread. 17 He sent a man before them, Joseph, being sold for a servant; 18 whose feet they hurt with chains; he was laid in iron, 19 until the time that his word came, the Word of Jehovah refined him. 20 The king sent and set him free; the ruler of the people, and let him go free. 21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all he owned, 22 to chain his leaders at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom. 23 Israel also came into Egypt, and Jacob resided in the land of Ham. 24 And He increased His people greatly and made them stronger than their enemies. 25 He turned their heart to hate His people, to deal craftily with His servants. 26 He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron whom He had chosen. 27 They showed His signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham. 28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they did not rebel against His Word. 29 He turned their waters into blood, and killed their fish. 30 Their land swarmed with frogs in the rooms of their kings. 31 He spoke, and there came fly swarms and gnats in all their borders. 32 He gave them hail for rain and flaming fire in their land. 33 He struck their vines also and their fig trees, and broke the trees of their borders. 34 He spoke, and locusts came, and larvae without number; 35 and they ate up all the plants in their land, and ate the fruit of their ground. 36 He also struck all the first-born in their land, the chief of all their strength. 37 He also brought them out with silver and gold; and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. 38 Egypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen on them. 39 He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night. 40 They asked, and He brought quail, and satisfied them with the food of heaven. 41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. 42 For He remembered His holy promise and Abraham His servant. 43 And He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness, 44 and gave them the lands of the nations; and they inherited the labor of the people, 45 so that they might take heed to His Precepts and keep His Laws. Praise Jehovah! 106 1 Praise Jehovah. O give thanks to Jehovah; for He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 2 Who can utter the mighty acts of Jehovah, or cause all His praise to be heard? 3 Blessed are those who keep judgment, he who does righteousness at all times. 4 Remember me, O Jehovah, with the favor of Your people; O visit me with Your salvation, 5 that I may see the good of Your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, to glory with Your inheritance. 6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. 7 Our fathers did not understand Your wonders in Egypt; they did not remember the multitude of Your mercies, but rebelled at the sea, even at the Red Sea. 8 But He saved them for His name's sake, to make His mighty power known. 9 And He rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up; so He led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. 10 And He saved them from the hand of the hater, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. 11 And the waters covered their enemies; there was not one of them left. 12 Then they believed His Words; they sang His praise. 13 They hurried and forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel; 14 but they lusted greedily in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert. 15 And He gave them what they asked, but sent leanness into their soul. 16 And they were jealous of Moses in the camp, and Aaron the saint of Jehovah. 17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. 18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. 19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped the melted image. 20 And they changed their Glory into the likeness of an ox that eats grass. 21 They forgot God their Deliverer, who had done great things in Egypt; 22 wonderful works in the land of Ham, fearful things by the Red Sea. 23 And He said that He would destroy them, if Moses His chosen had not stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, so that He should not destroy them. 24 And they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe His Word, 25 but murmured in their tents, and did not listen to the voice of Jehovah. 26 And He lifted up His hand to them, to overthrow them in the wilderness; 27 to overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands. 28 And they joined themselves to Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead, 29 and provoked Him to anger with their doings; and the plague broke in on them. 30 Then Phinehas stood and interceded, and the plague was stayed. 31 And it was counted to him for righteousness to all generations forevermore. 32 And they angered Him at the waters of strife so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes; 33 because they provoked his spirit so that he spoke rashly with his lips. 34 They did not destroy the nations as Jehovah commanded them; 35 but were mixed among the nations, and learned their works. 36 And they served their idols, which were a snare to them. 37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, 38 and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was defiled with blood. 39 And they were defiled with their works, and went lusting in their doings. 40 And the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against His people, and He detested His inheritance. 41 And He gave them into the hand of the nations; and those who hated them ruled over them. 42 And their enemies oppressed them, and they were humbled under their hand. 43 Many times He delivered them, but they rebelled in their counsel and sank in their iniquities. 44 And He looked on their affliction when He heard their cry; 45 and He remembered His covenant for them, and was moved to pity, according to the multitude of His mercies. 46 And He gave them to tender mercies before the face of all their captors. 47 Save us, O Jehovah our God, and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to Your holy name and to triumph in Your praise. 48 Blessed is Jehovah, the God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting; and let all the people say, Amen. Praise Jehovah! 107 1 O give thanks to Jehovah, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, 3 and gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness, in a desert by the way; they found no city to dwell in. 5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. 6 Then they cried to Jehovah in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles. 7 And He guided them by the right way, so as to go to a city to live in. 8 Oh that men would praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! 9 For He satisfies the thirsty soul, and fills the hungry soul with good. 10 Those who sit in the darkness and in the shadow of death, being chained in affliction and iron; 11 because they rebelled against the Words of God, and despised the advice of the Most High. 12 and He humbled their heart with labor; they fell down, and none was helping. 13 Then they cried to Jehovah in their distress, and He saved them out of their troubles. 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in two. 15 Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! 16 For He has broken the gates of bronze, and cut the bars of iron in two. 17 Fools are afflicted because of their rebellion, and because of their iniquities. 18 Their soul hates all kinds of food; and they draw near the gates of death. 19 Then they cry to Jehovah in their distress, and He saves them out of their troubles. 20 He sent His Word and heals them, and delivers them from their pitfalls. 21 Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! 22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing! 23 They who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters; 24 these see the works of Jehovah and His wonders in the deep. 25 For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. 26 They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble. 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and all their wisdom is swallowed up. 28 And they cry to Jehovah in their trouble, and He brings them out of their troubles. 29 He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. 30 And they are glad because they are quiet; so He brings them to their desired haven. 31 Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! 32 And let them exalt Him in the congregation of the people, and praise Him in the gathering of the elders. 33 He sets rivers to a wilderness and water-springs to thirsty ground; 34 a fruitful land to a salty desert, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it. 35 He turns the wilderness into water-ponds, and dry ground into water-springs. 36 And He makes the hungry dwell there, so that they may prepare a city to live in; 37 and sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. 38 He also blesses them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and does not allow their cattle to become few. 39 Again, they have become few, and humbled through harshness, affliction, and sorrow. 40 He pours scorn on nobles, and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no path. 41 But He raises up the poor from affliction and sets families like a flock. 42 The upright shall see and rejoice; and all iniquity shall stop its mouth. 43 Whoever is wise, and will observe these things, they shall understand the mercies of Jehovah. 108 1 A Song, A Psalm of David. O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and I will give praise, even with my glory. 2 Awake, harp and lyre; I will awake early. 3 I will praise You, O Jehovah, among the peoples; and I will sing praises to You among the nations. 4 For Your mercy is great above the heavens; and Your truth reaches to the clouds. 5 Be lifted up, O God, above the heavens; and Your glory above all the earth; 6 so that Your beloved may be delivered; save with Your right hand, and answer me. 7 God has spoken in His holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and I will measure out the valley of Succoth. 8 Gilead is Mine; Manasseh is Mine and Ephraim is the strength of My head; Judah is My lawgiver; 9 Moab is My washpot; I will cast out My shoe over Edom; I will triumph over Philistia. 10 Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom? 11 O God, have You not cast us off? And, O God, will You not go out with our armies? 12 Give us help from trouble; for vain is the deliverance of man. 13 Through God we shall do mighty things; for He shall trample our enemies. 109 1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. O God of my praise, do not be silent; 2 for the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me; they spoke against me with a lying tongue. 3 And they surrounded me with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. 4 For my love they are my foes; but I am in prayer. 5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. 6 Set a wicked man over him; and let an adversary stand at his right hand, 7 when he is judged, let him be condemned; and let his prayer become sin. 8 Let his days be few; let another take his office. 9 Let his sons be fatherless, and his wife a widow. 10 Let his sons always beg and be vagabonds, and seek food out of their ruins. 11 Let the money-lender lay a snare for all that is his; and let strangers take the fruit of his labor. 12 Let there be none to give mercy to him; nor any to favor his fatherless children. 13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out. 14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered to Jehovah; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. 15 Let them be always before Jehovah, that He may cut off their memory from the earth, 16 because he did not remember to do mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, and sought to kill the broken-hearted. 17 Yea, he loved cursing, so let it come to him; he delighted not in blessing, and it was far from him. 18 As he clothed himself with cursing, as with his robe, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. 19 Let it be to him as the robe which covers him, and for a girdle with which he is always clothed. 20 This is the reward of my foes from Jehovah, and of them who speak evil against my soul. 21 But You, Lord Jehovah, deal kindly with me for Your name's sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me. 22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. 23 As a shadow when it is stretched out, I am gone; I am shaken off like the locust. 24 My knees stumble from fasting; and my flesh is losing its fatness. 25 And I became a shame to them; they looked on me; they shook their heads. 26 Help me, O Jehovah my God; save me according to Your mercy; 27 and they will know that this is Your hand; that You, Jehovah, have done it. 28 They will curse, but You will bless; they arise, and are ashamed; but let Your servant rejoice. 29 Let my foes be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own shame, as with a cloak. 30 I will greatly praise Jehovah with my mouth; yea, I will praise Him among the multitude. 31 For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those who condemn his soul. 110 1 A Psalm of David. Jehovah said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand until I place Your enemies as Your footstool. 2 Jehovah shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion; rule in the midst of Your enemies. 3 Your people shall be willing in the day of Your power, in holy adornment from the womb of the morning: You have the dew of Your youth. 4 Jehovah has sworn, and will not repent, You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. 5 The Lord at Your right hand shall strike through kings in the day of His wrath. 6 He shall judge among the nations, He shall fill them with dead bodies; He shall shatter heads over much of the earth. 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way; therefore He shall lift up the head. 111 1 Praise Jehovah! I will praise Jehovah with all my heart, in the council of the upright, and of the congregation. 2 The works of Jehovah are great, sought out by all those who have pleasure in them. 3 His work is honorable and glorious; and His righteousness is standing forever. 4 He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; Jehovah is gracious and full of pity. 5 He has given food to those who fear Him; He will always be mindful of His covenant. 6 He has shown His people the power of His works, to give to them the inheritance of the nations. 7 The works of His hands are truth and judgment; all His commands are true, 8 standing fast forever and ever; they are done in truth and uprightness. 9 He sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever; holy and awesome is His name. 10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; all practicing them have good understanding; His praise stands forever. 112 1 Praise Jehovah! Blessed is the man who fears Jehovah, who delights greatly in His Commandments. 2 His seed shall be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness stands forever. 4 To the upright there arises light in the darkness; he is gracious and full of pity and righteousness. 5 A good man shows favor, and lends; he will guide his business with fairness. 6 Surely he shall not be moved forever; the righteous shall be remembered forever. 7 He shall not be afraid of bad news; his heart is fixed, trusting in Jehovah. 8 His heart is sure; he shall not be afraid though he sees his oppressors. 9 He has scattered abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be lifted up with honor. 10 The wicked shall see and be vexed; he shall gnash with his teeth and melt away; the desire of the wicked shall perish. 113 1 Praise Jehovah! Praise, O servants of Jehovah, praise the name of Jehovah. 2 Blessed is the name of Jehovah from this time forth and forevermore. 3 From the rising of the sun to its going down, Jehovah's name is to be praised. 4 Jehovah is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like Jehovah our God, who dwells on high, 6 who humbles Himself to behold the things in the heavens and in the earth! 7 He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill, 8 in order to make him sit with nobles, with the nobles of his people. 9 He causes the barren to dwell in the house as a joyful mother of sons. Praise Jehovah! 114 1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, 2 Judah was His sanctuary, and Israel was His kingdom. 3 The sea saw it and fled; Jordan was driven back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. 5 What ailed you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you turned back, 6 O mountains that skipped like rams, O little hills like lambs? 7 Earth, tremble at the presence of Jehovah, at the presence of the God of Jacob, 8 who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters. 115 1 Not to us, O Jehovah, not to us, but to Your name give glory, for Your mercy and for Your truth's sake. 2 Why should the nations say, Where now is their God? 3 But our God is in Heaven; He has done whatever He has pleased. 4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. 5 They have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see; 6 they have ears, but they do not hear; they have noses, but they do not smell; 7 they have hands, but they do not handle; they have feet, but they do not walk; they do not mutter through their throat. 8 The ones who make them are like them, and everyone who trusts in them. 9 O Israel, trust in Jehovah; He is their help and their shield. 10 O house of Aaron, trust in Jehovah; He is their help and their shield. 11 You who fear Jehovah, trust in Jehovah; He is their help and their shield. 12 Jehovah has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. 13 He will bless those who fear Jehovah, both small and great. 14 Jehovah shall add on to you, even on you and on your sons. 15 You are blessed of Jehovah who made the heavens and the earth. 16 The heavens, even the heavens, are Jehovah's; but the earth He has given to the sons of men. 17 The dead do not praise Jehovah, nor do any who go down into silence. 18 But we will bless Jehovah from this time forth and forevermore. Praise Jehovah! 116 1 I love Jehovah because He hears my voice and my prayers. 2 Because He has bowed down His ear to me, therefore I will call on Him in my days. 3 The sorrows of death hemmed me in, and the pains of hell took hold on me; I found trouble and sorrow. 4 Then I called on the name of Jehovah; O Jehovah, I beseech You, deliver my soul. 5 Gracious is Jehovah, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. 6 Jehovah keeps the simple; I was brought low, and He helped me. 7 Return to your rest, O my soul; for Jehovah has dealt bountifully with you. 8 For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from falling. 9 I will walk before Jehovah in the land of the living. 10 I believed, therefore I have spoken; I was greatly afflicted; 11 I said in my haste, All men are liars. 12 What shall I give to Jehovah for all His benefits toward me? 13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of Jehovah. 14 I will pay my vows to Jehovah now in the presence of all His people. 15 Precious in the sight of Jehovah is the death of His saints. 16 O Jehovah, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, and the son of Your handmaid; You have loosed my bonds. 17 I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on the name of Jehovah. 18 I will pay my vows to Jehovah now in the presence of all His people, 19 in the courts of Jehovah's house, in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise Jehovah! 117 1 O praise Jehovah, all nations; praise Him, all peoples. 2 For His merciful kindness is great toward us; and the truth of Jehovah endures forever. Praise Jehovah! 118 1 O give thanks to Jehovah; for He is good; because His mercy endures forever. 2 Let Israel now say that His mercy endures forever. 3 Let the house of Aaron now say that His mercy endures forever. 4 Let those who fear Jehovah now say that His mercy endures forever. 5 I called on Jehovah in distress; Jehovah answered me, and set me in a large place. 6 Jehovah is for me, I will not fear; what can man do to me? 7 Jehovah is for me among those who help me; and I will see my desire on those who hate me. 8 It is better to trust in Jehovah than to trust in man. 9 It is better to trust in Jehovah than to trust in princes. 10 All the nations surround me, but in the name of Jehovah I will destroy them. 11 They surround me; yea, they surround me, but in the name of Jehovah I will destroy them. 12 They surround me like bees; they are put out like the fire of thorns; for in the name of Jehovah I will cut them off. 13 You have thrust hard at me so that I might fall; but Jehovah helped me. 14 Jehovah is my strength and song, and He is my salvation. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of Jehovah does mighty things. 16 The right hand of Jehovah is lifted up; the right hand of Jehovah does mighty things. 17 I shall not die, but live and declare the works of Jehovah. 18 Jehovah has sorely chastened me; but He has not given me over to death. 19 Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go into them, and I will praise Jehovah. 20 This is the gate of Jehovah into which the righteous shall enter. 21 I will praise You; for You have heard me, and are my salvation. 22 The Stone which the builders refused has become the Head of the corner. 23 This is from Jehovah; it is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day which Jehovah has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. 25 Save now, I beseech You, O Jehovah; O Jehovah, I beseech You, cause us to prosper now. 26 Blessed is He coming in the name of Jehovah; we have blessed You out of the house of Jehovah. 27 God is Jehovah, who gives light to us. Tie the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. 28 You are my God, and I will exalt You; You are my God, I will praise You. 29 Oh give thanks to Jehovah; for He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 119 1 ALEPH: Blessed are the upright in the way, who walk in the Law of Jehovah. 2 Blessed are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek Him with all the heart. 3 They also do no iniquity; they walk in His ways. 4 You have commanded us to keep Your Commandments carefully. 5 O that my ways were fixed to keep Your Precepts! 6 Then I shall not be ashamed, when I have respect to all Your Commandments. 7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart when I have learned Your righteous judgments. 8 I will keep Your Precepts; do not forsake me completely. 9 BETH: With what shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your Word. 10 With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me wander from Your Commandments. 11 I have hidden Your Word in my heart, so that I might not sin against You. 12 Blessed are You, O Jehovah; teach me Your Precepts. 13 With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches. 15 I will think on Your Commandments and have respect to Your ways. 16 I will delight myself in Your Precepts; I will not forget Your Word. 17 GIMEL: Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your Word. 18 Open my eyes, so that I may behold wonderful things out of Your Law. 19 I am a stranger in the earth; do not hide Your Commandments from me. 20 My soul breaks for the longing that it has to Your judgments at all times. 21 You have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who go astray from Your Commandments. 22 Remove cursing and scorn from me; for I have kept Your testimonies. 23 Princes also sat and spoke against me; but Your servant thought on Your Precepts. 24 Your testimonies also are my delight and my advisers. 25 DALETH: My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to Your Word. 26 I have declared my ways, and You hear me; teach me Your Precepts. 27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works. 28 My soul weeps for grief; strengthen me according to Your Word. 29 Remove from me the way of lying; and grant me Your Law graciously. 30 I have chosen the way of truth; I have laid Your judgments before me. 31 I have stuck to Your testimonies; O Jehovah, do not put me to shame. 32 I will run the way of Your Commandments, when You shall enlarge my heart. 33 HE: O Jehovah, teach me the way of Your Precepts, and I shall keep it to the end. 34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your Law; yea, I shall observe it with all my heart. 35 Cause me to walk in the path of Your Commandments; for I delight in them. 36 Bow my heart to Your testimonies, and not to unjust gain. 37 Turn away my eyes from seeing vanity; in Your way give me life. 38 Make Your Word sure to Your servant, who is devoted to Your fear. 39 Turn away my shame which I fear; for Your judgments are good. 40 Behold, I have longed after Your Commandments; in Your righteousness give me life. 41 VAU: Let Your mercies come to me, O Jehovah, even according to Your salvation, according to Your Word. 42 And I shall have something to answer him who mocks me; for I trust in Your Word. 43 And take not the Word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in Your judgments. 44 And I shall keep Your Law continually forever and ever. 45 And I will always walk in a broad place; for I seek Your Commandments. 46 I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. 47 And I will delight myself in Your Commandments, which I have loved. 48 And I will lift up my hands to Your Commandments which I have loved; and I will think on Your Precepts. 49 ZAYIN: Remember the Word to Your servant, on which You have caused me to hope. 50 This is my comfort in my affliction; for Your Word has given me life. 51 The proud have utterly scorned me; yet I have not turned aside from Your Law. 52 I remembered Your judgments of old, O Jehovah, and have comforted myself. 53 Horror has taken hold on me because of the wicked who forsake Your Law. 54 Your Precepts have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. 55 I have remembered Your name, O Jehovah, in the night, and have kept Your Law. 56 This was done to me, because I kept Your Commandments. 57 CHETH: You are my portion, O Jehovah; I have said that I would keep Your Words. 58 I looked for Your favor with all my heart; be merciful to me according to Your Word. 59 I thought on my ways, and turned my feet to Your testimonies. 60 I made haste and did not delay to keep Your Commandments. 61 The bands of the wicked have robbed me; but I have not forgotten Your Law. 62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You because of Your righteous judgments. 63 I am a companion of all who fear You, and of those who keep Your Commandments. 64 O Jehovah, the earth is full of Your mercy; teach me Your Precepts. 65 TETH: You have dealt well with Your servant, O Jehovah, according to Your Word. 66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge; for I have believed Your Commandments. 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray; but now I have kept Your Word. 68 You are good, and do good; teach me Your Precepts. 69 The proud have forged a lie against me; I will keep Your Commandments with all my heart. 70 Their heart is without feeling, like fat; but I delight in Your Law. 71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted, so that I might learn Your Precepts. 72 The Law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver. 73 JOD: Your hands have made me and formed me; give me understanding so that I may learn Your Commandments. 74 They who fear You will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in Your Word. 75 I know, O Jehovah, that Your judgments are right, and that You have afflicted me in faithfulness. 76 I beseech You, let Your merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to Your Word to Your servant. 77 Let Your tender mercies come to me so that I may live; for Your Law is my delight. 78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they perverted my cause with lying; I will think on Your Commandments. 79 Let those who fear You turn to me, and those who have known Your testimonies. 80 Let my heart be sound in Your Precepts, so that I may not be ashamed. 81 KAPH: My soul faints for Your salvation; I hope in Your Word. 82 My eyes fail for Your Word, saying, When will You comfort me? 83 For I am like a wineskin in the smoke; I do not forget Your Precepts. 84 How many are the days of Your servant? When will You carry out judgment on my persecutors? 85 The proud have dug pits for me, which are not according to Your Law. 86 All Your Commandments are faithful; they persecute me with lying; help me. 87 They had almost finished me on earth; but I did not forsake Your Commandments. 88 According to Your loving-kindness give me life; so shall I keep the testimony of Your mouth. 89 LAMED: Forever, O Jehovah, Your Word is settled in the heavens. 90 Your faithfulness is to all generations; You have founded the earth, and it remains. 91 They stand to this day according to Your ordinances; for all are Your servants. 92 Unless Your Law had been my delight, I should then have perished in my affliction. 93 I will never forget Your Commandments; for with them You have given me life. 94 I am Yours, save me; for I have sought Your Commandments. 95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me; but I will think on Your testimonies. 96 I have seen an end to all perfection; Your Commandment is exceedingly broad. 97 MEM: Oh how I love Your Law! It is my meditation all the day. 98 Through Your Commandments You make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers; for Your testimonies are my prayer. 100 I understand more than the old men, because I keep Your Commandments. 101 I have kept my feet from every evil way, so that I might keep Your Word. 102 I have not departed from Your judgments; for You have taught me. 103 How sweet are Your Words to my taste! More than honey to my mouth! 104 Through Your Commandments I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. 105 NUN: Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. 106 I have sworn, and I raised it, that I will keep Your righteous judgments. 107 I am afflicted very much; O Jehovah, give me life according to Your Word. 108 I pray You, take the free-will offerings of my mouth, O Jehovah, and teach me Your judgments. 109 My life is in my hand daily; yet I do not forget Your Law. 110 The wicked have laid a snare for me; yet I do not go astray from Your Commandments. 111 I have taken Your testimonies as an inheritance forever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart. 112 I have bowed down my heart to do Your Precepts always to the end. 113 SAMECH: I hate half-hearted thoughts; but Your Law do I love. 114 You are my hiding-place and my shield; I hope in Your Word. 115 Depart from me, you evil-doers, for I will keep the Commandments of my God. 116 Uphold me according to Your Word, that I may live; and let me not be ashamed of my hope. 117 Hold me up, and I shall be safe; and I will always have respect to Your Precepts. 118 You have trampled all those who go astray from Your Precepts; for their deceit is falsehood. 119 You put away all the wicked of the earth like waste; therefore I love Your testimonies. 120 My flesh trembles in fear of You; and I am afraid of Your judgments. 121 AYIN: I have done the just and right thing; leave me not to those who crush me. 122 Be surety for Your servant for good; let not the proud press me down. 123 My eyes fail for Your salvation, and for the Word of Your righteousness. 124 Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy, and teach me Your Precepts. 125 I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies. 126 It is time for Jehovah to work; for they have broken Your Law. 127 Therefore I love Your Commandments above gold; yea, even fine gold. 128 Therefore I count all Your Commandments concerning all things to be right; I hate every false way. 129 PE: Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them. 130 The entrance of Your Words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. 131 I opened my mouth and panted; for I longed for Your Commandments. 132 Look on me, and be merciful to me, as You usually do to those who love Your name. 133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me. 134 Deliver me from the oppression of man; and I will keep Your Commandments. 135 Make Your face shine on Your servant; and teach me Your Precepts. 136 Rivers of water run down my eyes, because they do not keep Your Law. 137 TZADDI: You are righteous, O Jehovah, and Your judgments are right. 138 In Your testimonies You have commanded righteousness and faithfulness exceedingly. 139 My zeal has eaten me up, because my enemies have forgotten Your Words. 140 Your Word is very pure; therefore Your servant loves it. 141 I am small and despised; yet I do not forget Your Commandments. 142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your Law is the truth. 143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me; save me, and I shall keep Your testimonies. 147 I went before the dawning of the morning and cried; I hoped in Your Word. 148 My eyes go before the night watches, so that I might think on Your Word. 149 Hear my voice according to Your loving-kindness; O Jehovah, according to Your judgment give me life. 150 They draw near, those who follow after wickedness; they are far from Your Law. 151 You are near, O Jehovah, and all Your Commandments are truth. 152 Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever. 153 RESH: Look on my affliction, and deliver me; for I do not forget Your Law. 154 Plead my cause, and deliver me; according to Your Word give me life. 155 Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek Your Precepts. 156 Great are Your tender mercies, O Jehovah; according to Your judgments give me life. 157 Many are my persecutors and my enemies, yet I do not turn aside from Your testimonies. 158 I saw the traitors, and was grieved because they did not keep Your Word. 159 See how I love Your Commandments;
