2 Samuel 15:1-12

  1 H310 And it came to pass after this H53 , that Absalom H6213 prepared [H8799]   H4818 him chariots H5483 and horses H2572 , and fifty H376 men H7323 to run [H8801]   H6440 before him.

  2 H53 And Absalom H7925 rose up early [H8689]   H5975 , and stood [H8804]   H3027 beside H1870 the way H8179 of the gate H376 : and it was so, that when any man H7379 that had a controversy H935 came [H8800]   H4428 to the king H4941 for judgment H53 , then Absalom H7121 called [H8799]   H559 unto him, and said [H8799]   H335 , Of what H5892 city H559 art thou? And he said [H8799]   H5650 , Thy servant H259 is of one H7626 of the tribes H3478 of Israel.

  3 H53 And Absalom H559 said [H8799]   H7200 unto him, See [H8798]   H1697 , thy matters H2896 are good H5228 and right H4428 ; but there is no man deputed of the king H8085 to hear [H8802]   thee.

  4 H53 Absalom H559 said [H8799]   H7760 moreover, Oh that I were made [H8799]   H8199 judge [H8802]   H776 in the land H376 , that every man H7379 which hath any suit H4941 or cause H935 might come [H8799]   H6663 unto me, and I would do him justice [H8689]  !

  5 H376 And it was so, that when any man H7126 came nigh [H8800]   H7812 to him to do him obeisance [H8692]   H7971 , he put forth [H8804]   H3027 his hand H2388 , and took [H8689]   H5401 him, and kissed [H8804]   him.

  6 H1697 And on this manner H6213 did [H8799]   H53 Absalom H3478 to all Israel H935 that came [H8799]   H4428 to the king H4941 for judgment H53 : so Absalom H1589 stole [H8762]   H3820 the hearts H582 of the men H3478 of Israel.

  7 H7093 And it came to pass after H705 forty H8141 years H53 , that Absalom H559 said [H8799]   H4428 unto the king H3212 , I pray thee, let me go [H8799]   H7999 and pay [H8762]   H5088 my vow H5087 , which I have vowed [H8804]   H3068 unto the LORD H2275 , in Hebron.

  8 H5650 For thy servant H5087 vowed [H8804]   H5088 a vow H3427 while I abode [H8800]   H1650 at Geshur H758 in Syria H559 , saying [H8800]   H3068 , If the LORD H7725 shall bring me again [H8799]   [H8676]   H7725   [H8686]   H3389 indeed to Jerusalem H5647 , then I will serve [H8804]   H3068 the LORD.

  9 H4428 And the king H559 said [H8799]   H3212 unto him, Go [H8798]   H7965 in peace H6965 . So he arose [H8799]   H3212 , and went [H8799]   H2275 to Hebron.

  10 H53 But Absalom H7971 sent [H8799]   H7270 spies [H8764]   H7626 throughout all the tribes H3478 of Israel H559 , saying [H8800]   H8085 , As soon as ye hear [H8800]   H6963 the sound H7782 of the trumpet H559 , then ye shall say [H8804]   H53 , Absalom H4427 reigneth [H8804]   H2275 in Hebron.

  11 H53 And with Absalom H1980 went [H8804]   H3967 two hundred H376 men H3389 out of Jerusalem H7121 , that were called [H8803]   H1980 ; and they went [H8802]   H8537 in their simplicity H3045 , and they knew [H8804]   H1697 not any thing.

  12 H53 And Absalom H7971 sent [H8799]   H302 for Ahithophel H1526 the Gilonite H1732 , David's H3289 counsellor [H8802]   H5892 , from his city H1542 , even from Giloh H2076 , while he offered [H8800]   H2077 sacrifices H7195 . And the conspiracy H533 was strong H5971 ; for the people H7227 increased H1980 continually [H8802]   H53 with Absalom.
