2 H935 And when thou comest [H8804] H7200 thither, look out [H8798] H3058 there Jehu H1121 the son H3092 of Jehoshaphat H1121 the son H5250 of Nimshi H935 , and go in [H8804] H6965 , and make him arise up [H8689] H8432 from among H251 his brethren H935 , and carry [H8689] H2315 him to an inner H2315 chamber;

3 H3947 Then take [H8804] H6378 the box H8081 of oil H3332 , and pour [H8804] H7218 it on his head H559 , and say [H8804] H559 , Thus saith [H8804] H3068 the LORD H4886 , I have anointed [H8804] H4428 thee king H3478 over Israel H6605 . Then open [H8804] H1817 the door H5127 , and flee [H8804] H2442 , and tarry [H8762] not.

4 H5288 So the young man H5288 , even the young man H5030 the prophet H3212 , went [H8799] H7433 to Ramothgilead H1568 .

5 H935 And when he came [H8799] H8269 , behold, the captains H2428 of the host H3427 were sitting [H8802] H559 ; and he said [H8799] H1697 , I have an errand H8269 to thee, O captain H3058 . And Jehu H559 said [H8799] H559 , Unto which of all us? And he said [H8799] H8269 , To thee, O captain.

6 H6965 And he arose [H8799] H935 , and went [H8799] H1004 into the house H3332 ; and he poured [H8799] H8081 the oil H7218 on his head H559 , and said [H8799] H559 unto him, Thus saith [H8804] H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H4886 , I have anointed [H8804] H4428 thee king H5971 over the people H3068 of the LORD H3478 , even over Israel.

7 H5221 And thou shalt smite [H8689] H1004 the house H256 of Ahab H113 thy master H5358 , that I may avenge [H8765] H1818 the blood H5650 of my servants H5030 the prophets H1818 , and the blood H5650 of all the servants H3068 of the LORD H3027 , at the hand H348 of Jezebel.

8 H1004 For the whole house H256 of Ahab H6 shall perish [H8804] H3772 : and I will cut off [H8689] H256 from Ahab H8366 him that pisseth [H8688] H7023 against the wall H6113 , and him that is shut up [H8803] H5800 and left [H8803] H3478 in Israel:

And he said [H8799] H3045 unto them, Ye know [H8804] H376 the man H7879 , and his communication.

12 H559 And they said [H8799] H8267 , It is false H5046 ; tell [H8685] H559 us now. And he said [H8799] H559 , Thus and thus spake [H8804] H559 he to me, saying [H8800] H559 , Thus saith [H8804] H3068 the LORD H4886 , I have anointed [H8804] H4428 thee king H3478 over Israel.

13 H4116 Then they hasted [H8762] H3947 , and took [H8799] H376 every man H899 his garment H7760 , and put [H8799] H1634 it under him on the top H4609 of the stairs H8628 , and blew [H8799] H7782 with trumpets H559 , saying [H8799] H3058 , Jehu H4427 is king [H8804] .

14 H3058 So Jehu H1121 the son H3092 of Jehoshaphat H1121 the son H5250 of Nimshi H7194 conspired [H8691] H3141 against Joram H3141 . (Now Joram H8104 had kept [H8802] H7433 Ramothgilead H1568 H3478 , he and all Israel H6440 , because H2371 of Hazael H4428 king H758 of Syria.

15 H4428 But king H3088 Joram H7725 was returned [H8799] H7495 to be healed [H8692] H3157 in Jezreel H4347 of the wounds H761 which the Syrians H5221 had given [H8686] H3898 him, when he fought [H8736] H2371 with Hazael H4428 king H758 of Syria H3058 .) And Jehu H559 said [H8799] H3426 , If it be H5315 your minds H408 , then let none H3318 go forth [H8799] H6412 nor escape H5892 out of the city H3212 to go [H8800] H5046 to tell [H8687] H3157 it in Jezreel.

16 H3058 So Jehu H7392 rode in a chariot [H8799] H3212 , and went [H8799] H3157 to Jezreel H3141 ; for Joram H7901 lay [H8802] H274 there. And Ahaziah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3381 was come down [H8804] H7200 to see [H8800] H3141 Joram.

17 H5975 And there stood [H8802] H6822 a watchman [H8802] H4026 on the tower H3157 in Jezreel H7200 , and he spied [H8799] H8229 the company H3058 of Jehu H935 as he came [H8800] H559 , and said [H8799] H7200 , I see [H8802] H8229 a company H3088 . And Joram H559 said [H8799] H3947 , Take [H8798] H7395 an horseman H7971 , and send [H8798] H7125 to meet [H8800] H559 them, and let him say [H8799] H7965 , Is it peace?

18 H3212 So there went [H8799] H7392 one on horseback [H8802] H5483 H7125 to meet [H8800] H559 him, and said [H8799] H559 , Thus saith [H8804] H4428 the king H7965 , Is it peace H3058 ? And Jehu H559 said [H8799] H7965 , What hast thou to do with peace H5437 ? turn [H8798] H310 thee behind H6822 me. And the watchman [H8802] H5046 told [H8686] H559 , saying [H8800] H4397 , The messenger H935 came [H8804] H7725 to them, but he cometh not again [H8804] .

19 H7971 Then he sent out [H8799] H8145 a second H7392 on horseback [H8802] H5483 H935 , which came [H8799] H559 to them, and said [H8799] H559 , Thus saith [H8804] H4428 the king H7965 , Is it peace H3058 ? And Jehu H559 answered [H8799] H7965 , What hast thou to do with peace H5437 ? turn [H8798] H310 thee behind me.

20 H6822 And the watchman [H8802] H5046 told [H8686] H559 , saying [H8800] H935 , He came [H8804] H7725 even unto them, and cometh not again [H8804] H4491 : and the driving H4491 is like the driving H3058 of Jehu H1121 the son H5250 of Nimshi H5090 ; for he driveth [H8799] H7697 furiously.

21 H3088 And Joram H559 said [H8799] H631 , Make ready [H8798] H7393 . And his chariot H631 was made ready [H8799] H3088 . And Joram H4428 king H3478 of Israel H274 and Ahaziah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3318 went out [H8799] H376 , each H7393 in his chariot H3318 , and they went out [H8799] H7125 against [H8800] H3058 Jehu H4672 , and met [H8799] H2513 him in the portion H5022 of Naboth H3158 the Jezreelite.

22 H3088 And it came to pass, when Joram H7200 saw [H8800] H3058 Jehu H559 , that he said [H8799] H7965 , Is it peace H3058 , Jehu H559 ? And he answered [H8799] H7965 , What peace H5704 , so long as H2183 the whoredoms H517 of thy mother H348 Jezebel H3785 and her witchcrafts H7227 are so many?

23 H3088 And Joram H2015 turned [H8799] H3027 his hands H5127 , and fled [H8799] H559 , and said [H8799] H274 to Ahaziah H4820 , There is treachery H274 , O Ahaziah.

24 H3058 And Jehu H7198 drew a bow H4390 with his full [H8765] H3027 strength H5221 , and smote [H8686] H3088 Jehoram H2220 between his arms H2678 , and the arrow H3318 went out [H8799] H3820 at his heart H3766 , and he sunk down [H8799] H7393 in his chariot.

25 H559 Then said [H8799] H920 Jehu to Bidkar H7991 his captain H5375 , Take up [H8798] H7993 , and cast [H8685] H2513 him in the portion H7704 of the field H5022 of Naboth H3158 the Jezreelite H2142 : for remember [H8798] H7392 how that, when I and thou rode [H8802] H6776 together H310 after H256 Ahab H1 his father H3068 , the LORD H5375 laid [H8804] H4853 this burden upon him;

26 H7200 Surely I have seen [H8804] H570 yesterday H1818 the blood H5022 of Naboth H1818 , and the blood H1121 of his sons H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD H7999 ; and I will requite [H8765] H2513 thee in this plat H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD H5375 . And they did so at the going up H1483 to Gur H2991 , which is by Ibleam H5127 . And he fled [H8799] H4023 to Megiddo H4191 , and died [H8799] there.

28 H5650 And his servants H7392 carried [H8686] H3389 him in a chariot to Jerusalem H6912 , and buried [H8799] H6900 him in his sepulchre H1 with his fathers H5892 in the city H1732 of David.

29 H259 And in the eleventh H6240 H8141 H8141 year H3141 of Joram H1121 the son H256 of Ahab H274 began Ahaziah H4427 to reign [H8804] H3063 over Judah.

30 H3058 And when Jehu H935 was come [H8799] H3157 to Jezreel H348 , Jezebel H8085 heard [H8804] H7760 of it; and she painted [H8799] H6320 H5869 her face H3190 , and tired [H8686] H7218 her head H8259 , and looked out [H8686] H2474 at a window.

31 H3058 And as Jehu H935 entered in [H8804] H8179 at the gate H559 , she said [H8799] H2174 , Had Zimri H7965 peace H2026 , who slew [H8802] H113 his master?

32 H5375 And he lifted up [H8799] H6440 his face H2474 to the window H559 , and said [H8799] H8259 , Who is on my side? who? And there looked out [H8686] H8147 to him two H7969 or three H5631 eunuchs.

33 H559 And he said [H8799] H8058 , Throw her down [H8798] H8058 . So they threw her down [H8799] H1818 : and some of her blood H5137 was sprinkled [H8799] H7023 on the wall H5483 , and on the horses H7429 : and he trode her under foot [H8799] .

34 H935 And when he was come in [H8799] H398 , he did eat [H8799] H8354 and drink [H8799] H559 , and said [H8799] H6485 , Go [H8798] H779 , see now this cursed [H8803] H6912 woman, and bury [H8798] H4428 her: for she is a king's H1323 daughter.

35 H3212 And they went [H8799] H6912 to bury [H8800] H4672 her: but they found [H8804] H518 no more of her than H1538 the skull H7272 , and the feet H3709 , and the palms H3027 of her hands.

36 H7725 Wherefore they came again [H8799] H5046 , and told [H8686] H559 him. And he said [H8799] H1697 , This is the word H3068 of the LORD H1696 , which he spake [H8765] H3027 by H5650 his servant H452 Elijah H8664 the Tishbite H559 , saying [H8800] H2506 , In the portion H3157 of Jezreel H3611 shall dogs H398 eat [H8799] H1320 the flesh H348 of Jezebel:

37 H5038 And the carcase H348 of Jezebel H1828 shall be as dung H6440 upon the face H7704 of the field H2506 in the portion H3157 of Jezreel H559 ; so that they shall not say [H8799] H348 , This is Jezebel.
