13 G2296 Marvel [G5720] G3361 not G3450 , my G80 brethren G1487 , if G2889 the world G3404 hate [G5719] G5209 you.

14 G1492 We know [G5758] G3754 that G2249 we G3327 have passed [G5758] G1537 from G2288 death G1519 unto G2222 life G3754 , because G25 we love [G5719] G80 the brethren G25 . He that loveth [G5723] G3361 not G80 his brother G3306 abideth [G5719] G1722 in G2288 death.

15 G3956 Whosoever G3404 hateth [G5723] G846 his G80 brother G2076 is [G5748] G443 a murderer G2532 : and G1492 ye know [G5758] G3754 that G3756 no G3956 G443 murderer G2192 hath [G5719] G166 eternal G2222 life G3306 abiding [G5723] G1722 in G846 him.

16 G1722 Hereby G5129 G1097 perceive we [G5758] G26 the love G3754 of God, because G1565 he G5087 laid down [G5656] G846 his G5590 life G5228 for G2257 us G2532 : and G2249 we G3784 ought [G5719] G5087 to lay down [G5721] G5590 our lives G5228 for G80 the brethren.

17 G1161 But G3739 whoso G302 G2192 hath [G5725] G2889 this world's G979 good G2532 , and G2334 seeth [G5725] G846 his G80 brother G2192 have [G5723] G5532 need G2532 , and G2808 shutteth up [G5661] G846 his G4698 bowels G575 of compassion from G846 him G4459 , how G3306 dwelleth [G5719] G26 the love G2316 of God G1722 in G846 him?

18 G3450 My G5040 little children G25 , let us G3361 not G25 love [G5725] G3056 in word G3366 , neither G1100 in tongue G235 ; but G2041 in deed G2532 and G225 in truth.

19 G2532 And G1722 hereby G5129 G1097 we know [G5719] G3754 that G2070 we are [G5748] G1537 of G225 the truth G2532 , and G3982 shall assure [G5692] G2257 our G2588 hearts G1715 before G846 him.

20 G3754 For G1437 if G2257 our G2588 heart G2607 condemn us [G5725] G3754 , G2316 God G2076 is [G5748] G3187 greater G2257 than our G2588 heart G2532 , and G1097 knoweth [G5719] G3956 all things.

21 G27 Beloved G3362 , if G2257 our G2588 heart G2607 condemn [G5725] G2257 us G3362 not G2192 , then have we [G5719] G3954 confidence G4314 toward G2316 God.

22 G2532 And G3739 whatsoever G1437 G154 we ask [G5725] G2983 , we receive [G5719] G3844 of G846 him G3754 , because G5083 we keep [G5719] G846 his G1785 commandments G2532 , and G4160 do [G5719] G701 those things that are pleasing G846 in his G1799 sight.

23 G2532 And G3778 this G2076 is [G5748] G846 his G1785 commandment G2443 , That G4100 we should believe [G5661] G3686 on the name G846 of his G5207 Son G2424 Jesus G5547 Christ G2532 , and G25 love [G5725] G240 one another G2531 , as G1325 he gave [G5656] G2254 us G1785 commandment.

24 G2532 And G5083 he that keepeth [G5723] G846 his G1785 commandments G3306 dwelleth [G5719] G1722 in G846 him G2532 , and G846 he G1722 in G846 him G2532 . And G1722 hereby G5129 G1097 we know [G5719] G3754 that G3306 he abideth [G5719] G1722 in G2254 us G1537 , by G4151 the Spirit G3739 which G1325 he hath given [G5656] G2254 us.
