H3068 And the LORD H1696 spake [H8762]   H4872 unto Moses H559 , saying [H8800]  ,
H6942 Sanctify [H8761]   H1060 unto me all the firstborn H6363 , whatsoever openeth H7358 the womb H1121 among the children H3478 of Israel H120 , both of man H929 and of beast: it is mine.
H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799]   H5971 unto the people H2142 , Remember [H8800]   H2088 this H3117 day H3318 , in which ye came out [H8804]   H4714 from Egypt H1004 , out of the house H5650 of bondage H2392 ; for by strength H3027 of hand H3068 the LORD H3318 brought you out [H8689]   H2557 from this place : there shall no leavened bread H398 be eaten [H8735]  .
H3117 This day H3318 came ye out [H8802]   H2320 in the month H24 Abib.
H3068 And it shall be when the LORD H935 shall bring [H8686]   H776 thee into the land H3669 of the Canaanites H2850 , and the Hittites H567 , and the Amorites H2340 , and the Hivites H2983 , and the Jebusites H7650 , which he sware [H8738]   H1 unto thy fathers H5414 to give [H8800]   H776 thee, a land H2100 flowing [H8802]   H2461 with milk H1706 and honey H5647 , that thou shalt keep [H8804]   H5656 this service H2320 in this month.
H7651 Seven H3117 days H398 thou shalt eat [H8799]   H4682 unleavened bread H7637 , and in the seventh H3117 day H2282 shall be a feast H3068 to the LORD.
H4682 Unleavened bread H398 shall be eaten [H8735]   H7651 seven H3117 days H2557 ; and there shall no leavened bread H7200 be seen [H8735]   H7603 with thee, neither shall there be leaven H7200 seen [H8735]   H1366 with thee in all thy quarters.
H5046 And thou shalt shew [H8689]   H1121 thy son H3117 in that day H559 , saying [H8800]   H5668 , This is done because of H2088 that H3068 which the LORD H6213 did [H8804]   H3318 unto me when I came forth [H8800]   H4714 out of Egypt.
H226 And it shall be for a sign H3027 unto thee upon thine hand H2146 , and for a memorial H5869 between thine eyes H3068 , that the LORD'S H8451 law H6310 may be in thy mouth H2389 : for with a strong H3027 hand H3068 hath the LORD H3318 brought thee out [H8689]   H4714 of Egypt.
H8104 Thou shalt therefore keep [H8804]   H2708 this ordinance H4150 in his season H3117 from year H3117 to year.
H3068 And it shall be when the LORD H935 shall bring [H8686]   H776 thee into the land H3669 of the Canaanites H7650 , as he sware [H8738]   H1 unto thee and to thy fathers H5414 , and shall give [H8804]   it thee,
H5674 That thou shalt set apart [H8689]   H3068 unto the LORD H6363 all that openeth H7358 the matrix H6363 , and every firstling H7698 that cometh H929 of a beast H2145 which thou hast; the males H3068 shall be the LORD'S.
H6363 And every firstling H2543 of an ass H6299 thou shalt redeem [H8799]   H7716 with a lamb H6299 ; and if thou wilt not redeem [H8799]   H6202 it, then thou shalt break his neck [H8804]   H1060 : and all the firstborn H120 of man H1121 among thy children H6299 shalt thou redeem [H8799]  .
H1121 And it shall be when thy son H7592 asketh [H8799]   H4279 thee in time to come H559 , saying [H8800]   H559 , What is this? that thou shalt say [H8804]   H2392 unto him, By strength H3027 of hand H3068 the LORD H3318 brought us out [H8689]   H4714 from Egypt H1004 , from the house H5650 of bondage:
H6547 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh H7185 would hardly [H8689]   H7971 let us go [H8763]   H3068 , that the LORD H2026 slew [H8799]   H1060 all the firstborn H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt H1060 , both the firstborn H120 of man H1060 , and the firstborn H929 of beast H2076 : therefore I sacrifice [H8802]   H3068 to the LORD H6363 all that openeth H7358 the matrix H2145 , being males H1060 ; but all the firstborn H1121 of my children H6299 I redeem [H8799]  .
H226 And it shall be for a token H3027 upon thine hand H2903 , and for frontlets H5869 between thine eyes H2392 : for by strength H3027 of hand H3068 the LORD H3318 brought us forth [H8689]   H4714 out of Egypt.
H6547 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh H5971 had let the people H7971 go [H8763]   H430 , that God H5148 led [H8804]   H1870 them not through the way H776 of the land H6430 of the Philistines H3588 , although H7138 that was near H430 ; for God H559 said [H8804]   H5971 , Lest peradventure the people H5162 repent [H8735]   H7200 when they see [H8800]   H4421 war H7725 , and they return [H8804]   H4714 to Egypt:
H430 But God H5437 led H5971 the people H5437 about [H8686]   H1870 , through the way H4057 of the wilderness H5488 of the Red H3220 sea H1121 : and the children H3478 of Israel H5927 went up [H8804]   H2571 harnessed H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt.
H4872 And Moses H3947 took [H8799]   H6106 the bones H3130 of Joseph H7650 with him: for he had straitly [H8687]   H7650 sworn [H8689]   H1121 the children H3478 of Israel H559 , saying [H8800]   H430 , God H6485 will surely [H8800]   H6485 visit [H8799]   H5927 you; and ye shall carry up H6106 my bones H5927 away [H8689]   hence with you.
H5265 And they took their journey [H8799]   H5523 from Succoth H2583 , and encamped [H8799]   H864 in Etham H7097 , in the edge H4057 of the wilderness.
H3068 And the LORD H1980 went [H8802]   H6440 before H3119 them by day H5982 in a pillar H6051 of a cloud H5148 , to lead [H8687]   H1870 them the way H3915 ; and by night H5982 in a pillar H784 of fire H215 , to give them light [H8687]   H3212 ; to go [H8800]   H3119 by day H3915 and night:
H4185 He took not away [H8686]   H5982 the pillar H6051 of the cloud H3119 by day H5982 , nor the pillar H784 of fire H3915 by night H6440 , from before H5971 the people.
ERV(i) 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine. 3 And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten. 4 This day ye go forth in the month Abib. 5 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month. 6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD. 7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee, in all thy borders. 8 And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying, It is because of that which the LORD did for me when I came forth out of Egypt. 9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of the LORD may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt. 10 Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year. 11 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee, 12 that thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the womb, and every firstling which thou hast that cometh of a beast; the males shall be the LORD’S. 13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy sons shalt thou redeem. 14 And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: 15 and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem. 16 And it shall be for a sign upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt. 17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: 18 but God led the people about, by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea: and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt. 19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you. 20 And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness. 21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; that they might go by day and by night: 22 the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, departed not from before the people.
