Romans 11:2-6

ISV(i) 2 God has not rejected his people whom he chose long ago. Do you not know what the Scripture says in the story about Elijah, when he pleads with God against Israel? 3 "Lord, they have killed your prophets and demolished your altars. I am the only one left, and they are trying to take my life." 4 But what was the divine reply to him? "I have reserved for myself 7,000 people who have not knelt to worship Baal." 5 So it is at the present time: there is a remnant, chosen by grace. 6 But if this is by grace, then it is no longer on the basis of actions. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.
