Numbers 21:4-9 ויסעו And they journeyed מהר ההר from mount דרך by the way ים sea, סוף of the Red לסבב to compass את ארץ the land אדום of Edom: ותקצר was much discouraged נפשׁ and the soul העם of the people בדרך׃ because of the way.

5 H1696 וידבר spoke H5971 העם And the people H430 באלהים against God, H4872 ובמשׁה and against Moses, H4100 למה Wherefore H5927 העליתנו have ye brought us up H4714 ממצרים H4191 למות to die H4057 במדבר in the wilderness? H3588 כי for H369 אין no H3899 לחם bread, H369 ואין neither H4325 מים water; H5315 ונפשׁנו and our soul H6973 קצה loatheth H3899 בלחם bread. H7052 הקלקל׃ this light

6 H7971 וישׁלח sent H3068 יהוה And the LORD H5971 בעם among the people, H853 את H5175 הנחשׁים serpents H8314 השׂרפים fiery H5391 וינשׁכו and they bit H853 את H5971 העם the people; H4191 וימת died. H5971 עם people H7227 רב and much H3478 מישׂראל׃

7 H935 ויבא came H5971 העם Therefore the people H413 אל to H4872 משׁה Moses, H559 ויאמרו and said, H2398 חטאנו We have sinned, H3588 כי for H1696 דברנו we have spoken H3068 ביהוה against the LORD, H6419 ובך התפלל and against thee; pray H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD, H5493 ויסר that he take away H5921 מעלינו from H853 את H5175 הנחשׁ the serpents H6419 ויתפלל prayed H4872 משׁה us. And Moses H1157 בעד for H5971 העם׃ the people.

8 H559 ויאמר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H4872 משׁה Moses, H6213 עשׂה Make H8314 לך שׂרף thee a fiery serpent, H7760 ושׂים and set H853 אתו H5921 על it upon H5251 נס a pole: H1961 והיה and it shall come to pass, H3605 כל that every one H5391 הנשׁוך that is bitten, H7200 וראה when he looketh upon H853 אתו H2425 וחי׃ it, shall live.

9 H6213 ויעשׂ made H4872 משׁה And Moses H5175 נחשׁ a serpent H5178 נחשׁת of brass, H7760 וישׂמהו and put H5921 על it upon H5251 הנס a pole, H1961 והיה and it came to pass, H518 אם that if H5391 נשׁך had bitten H5175 הנחשׁ a serpent H853 את H376 אישׁ any man, H5027 והביט when he beheld H413 אל when he beheld H5175 נחשׁ the serpent H5178 הנחשׁת of brass, H2425 וחי׃ he lived.
