3 H8085 וישׁמעו heard H1121 בני (Now the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H3588 כי that H5927 עלו were gone up H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4709 המצפה to Mizpeh.) H559 ויאמרו Then said H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H1696 דברו Tell H349 איכה how H1961 נהיתה was H7451 הרעה wickedness? H2063 הזאת׃ this

4 H6030 ויען answered H376 האישׁ the husband H3881 הלוי H376 אישׁ H802 האשׁה of the woman H7523 הנרצחה that was slain, H559 ויאמר and said, H1390 הגבעתה into Gibeah H834 אשׁר that H1144 לבנימן to Benjamin, H935 באתי I came H589 אני I H6370 ופילגשׁי and my concubine, H3885 ללון׃ to lodge.

5 H6965 ויקמו rose H5921 עלי against H1167 בעלי And the men H1390 הגבעה of Gibeah H5437 ויסבו H5921 עלי upon H853 את H1004 הבית H3915 לילה me by night, H853 אותי H1819 דמו thought H2026 להרג to have slain H853 ואת H6370 פילגשׁי me: and my concubine H6031 ענו have they forced, H4191 ותמת׃ that she is dead.

6 H270 ואחז And I took H6370 בפילגשׁי my concubine, H5408 ואנתחה and cut her in pieces, H7971 ואשׁלחה and sent H3605 בכל her throughout all H7704 שׂדה the country H5159 נחלת of the inheritance H3478 ישׂראל of Israel: H3588 כי for H6213 עשׂו they have committed H2154 זמה lewdness H5039 ונבלה and folly H3478 בישׂראל׃ in Israel.

7 H2009 הנה Behold, H3605 כלכם ye all H1121 בני children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel; H3051 הבו give H1697 לכם דבר your advice H6098 ועצה and counsel. H1988 הלם׃ here

8 H6965 ויקם arose H3605 כל And all H5971 העם the people H376 כאישׁ man, H259 אחד as one H559 לאמר saying, H3808 לא We will not H1980 נלך go H376 אישׁ any H168 לאהלו to his tent, H3808 ולא neither H5493 נסור turn H376 אישׁ will we any H1004 לביתו׃ into his house.

9 H6258 ועתה But now H2088 זה this H1697 הדבר the thing H834 אשׁר which H6213 נעשׂה we will do H1390 לגבעה to Gibeah; H5921 עליה against H1486 בגורל׃ by lot

10 H3947 ולקחנו And we will take H6235 עשׂרה ten H376 אנשׁים men H3967 למאה of a hundred H3605 לכל throughout all H7626 שׁבטי the tribes H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3967 ומאה and a hundred H505 לאלף of a thousand, H505 ואלף and a thousand H7233 לרבבה out of ten thousand, H3947 לקחת to fetch H6720 צדה victual H5971 לעם for the people, H6213 לעשׂות that they may do, H935 לבואם when they come H1387 לגבע to Gibeah H1144 בנימן of Benjamin, H3605 ככל according to all H5039 הנבלה the folly H834 אשׁר that H6213 עשׂה they have wrought H3478 בישׂראל׃ in Israel.

11 H622 ויאסף were gathered H3605 כל So all H376 אישׁ the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל against H5892 העיר the city, H376 כאישׁ man. H259 אחד as one H2270 חברים׃ knit together

12 H7971 וישׁלחו sent H7626 שׁבטי And the tribes H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H582 אנשׁים H3605 בכל through all H7626 שׁבטי the tribe H1144 בנימן of Benjamin, H559 לאמר saying, H4100 מה What H7451 הרעה wickedness H2063 הזאת this H834 אשׁר that H1961 נהיתה׃ is done

13 H6258 ועתה Now H5414 תנו therefore deliver H853 את H376 האנשׁים the men, H1121 בני the children H1100 בליעל of Belial, H834 אשׁר which H1390 בגבעה in Gibeah, H4191 ונמיתם that we may put them to death, H1197 ונבערה and put away H7451 רעה evil H3478 מישׂראל of Israel: H3808 ולא not H14 אבו would H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H8085 לשׁמע hearken H6963 בקול to the voice H251 אחיהם of their brethren H1121 בני But the children H3478 ישׂראל׃

14 H622 ויאספו gathered themselves together H1121 בני But the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H4480 מן out of H5892 הערים the cities H1390 הגבעתה unto Gibeah, H3318 לצאת to go out H4421 למלחמה to battle H5973 עם against H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

15 H6485 ויתפקדו were numbered H1121 בני And the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H3117 ביום time H1931 ההוא at that H5892 מהערים out of the cities H6242 עשׂרים twenty H8337 ושׁשׁה and six H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men H8025 שׁלף that drew H2719 חרב sword, H905 לבד beside H3427 מישׁבי the inhabitants H1390 הגבעה of Gibeah, H6485 התפקדו which were numbered H7651 שׁבע seven H3967 מאות hundred H376 אישׁ men. H970 בחור׃ chosen

16 H3605 מכל every one H5971 העם people H2088 הזה this H7651 שׁבע seven H3967 מאות hundred H376 אישׁ men H970 בחור H334 אטר H3027 יד H3225 ימינו H3605 כל H2088 זה every one H7049 קלע could sling H68 באבן stones H413 אל at H8185 השׂערה a hair H3808 ולא and not H2398 יחטא׃ miss.

17 H376 ואישׁ And the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H6485 התפקדו were numbered H905 לבד beside H1144 מבנימן H702 ארבע four H3967 מאות hundred H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men H8025 שׁלף that drew H2719 חרב sword: H3605 כל all H2088 זה these H376 אישׁ men H4421 מלחמה׃ of war.
