Judges 16:4-22 ויהי And it came to pass אחרי afterward, כן afterward, ויאהב that he loved אשׁה a woman בנחל in the valley שׂרק of Sorek, ושׁמה whose name דלילה׃ Delilah.

5 H5927 ויעלו came up H413 אליה unto H5633 סרני And the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H559 ויאמרו her, and said H6601 לה פתי unto her, Entice H853 אותו H7200 וראי him, and see H4100 במה wherein H3581 כחו strength H1419 גדול his great H4100 ובמה and by what H3201 נוכל we may prevail H631 לו ואסרנהו against him, that we may bind H6031 לענתו him to afflict H587 ואנחנו him: and we H5414 נתן will give H376 לך אישׁ thee every one H505 אלף of us eleven hundred H3967 ומאה of us eleven hundred H3701 כסף׃ of silver.

6 H559 ותאמר said H1807 דלילה And Delilah H413 אל to H8123 שׁמשׁון Samson, H5046 הגידה Tell H4994 נא me, I pray thee, H4100 לי במה wherein H3581 כחך strength H1419 גדול thy great H4100 ובמה and wherewith H631 תאסר thou mightest be bound H6031 לענותך׃ to afflict

7 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליה unto H8123 שׁמשׁון And Samson H518 אם her, If H631 יאסרני they bind H7651 בשׁבעה me with seven H3499 יתרים withes H3892 לחים green H834 אשׁר that H3808 לא were never H2717 חרבו dried, H2470 וחליתי then shall I be weak, H1961 והייתי and be H259 כאחד as another H120 האדם׃ man.

8 H5927 ויעלו brought up H5633 לה סרני Then the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H7651 שׁבעה to her seven H3499 יתרים withes H3892 לחים green H834 אשׁר which H3808 לא had not H2717 חרבו been dried, H631 ותאסרהו׃ and she bound

9 H693 והארב Now men lying in wait, H3427 ישׁב abiding H2315 לה בחדר with her in the chamber. H559 ותאמר And she said H413 אליו unto H6430 פלשׁתים him, The Philistines H5921 עליך upon H8123 שׁמשׁון thee, Samson. H5423 וינתק And he broke H853 את H3499 היתרים the withes, H834 כאשׁר as H5423 ינתק is broken H6616 פתיל a thread H5296 הנערת of tow H7306 בהריחו when it toucheth H784 אשׁ the fire. H3808 ולא was not H3045 נודע known. H3581 כחו׃ So his strength

10 H559 ותאמר said H1807 דלילה And Delilah H413 אל unto H8123 שׁמשׁון Samson, H2009 הנה Behold, H2048 התלת thou hast mocked H1696 בי ותדבר me, and told H413 אלי me, and told H3576 כזבים H6258 עתה now H5046 הגידה tell H4994 נא me, I pray thee, H4100 לי במה wherewith H631 תאסר׃ thou mightest be bound.

11 H559 ויאמר And he said H413 אליה unto H518 אם her, If H631 אסור they bind me fast H631 יאסרוני they bind me fast H5688 בעבתים ropes H2319 חדשׁים with new H834 אשׁר that H3808 לא never H6213 נעשׂה were occupied, H4399 בהם מלאכה were occupied, H2470 וחליתי then shall I be weak, H1961 והייתי and be H259 כאחד as another H120 האדם׃ man.

12 H3947 ותקח therefore took H1807 דלילה Delilah H5688 עבתים ropes, H2319 חדשׁים new H631 ותאסרהו and bound H559 בהם ותאמר him therewith, and said H413 אליו unto H6430 פלשׁתים him, The Philistines H5921 עליך upon H8123 שׁמשׁון thee, Samson. H693 והארב And liers in wait H3427 ישׁב abiding H2315 בחדר in the chamber. H5423 וינתקם And he broke H5921 מעל them from off H2220 זרעתיו his arms H2339 כחוט׃ like a thread.

13 H559 ותאמר said H1807 דלילה And Delilah H413 אל unto H8123 שׁמשׁון Samson, H5704 עד H2008 הנה H2048 התלת thou hast mocked H1696 בי ותדבר me, and told H413 אלי me, and told H3576 כזבים me lies: H5046 הגידה tell H4100 לי במה me wherewith H631 תאסר thou mightest be bound. H559 ויאמר And he said H413 אליה unto H518 אם her, If H707 תארגי thou weavest H853 את H7651 שׁבע the seven H4253 מחלפות locks H7218 ראשׁי of my head H5973 עם with H4545 המסכת׃ the web.

14 H8628 ותתקע And she fastened H3489 ביתד with the pin, H559 ותאמר and said H413 אליו unto H6430 פלשׁתים him, The Philistines H5921 עליך upon H8123 שׁמשׁון thee, Samson. H3364 וייקץ And he awaked H8142 משׁנתו out of his sleep, H5265 ויסע and went away H854 את H3489 היתד with the pin H708 הארג of the beam, H854 ואת H4545 המסכת׃ and with the web.

15 H559 ותאמר And she said H413 אליו unto H349 איך him, How H559 תאמר canst thou say, H157 אהבתיך I love H3820 ולבך thee, when thine heart H369 אין not H854 אתי with H2088 זה H7969 שׁלשׁ me these three H6471 פעמים times, H2048 התלת me? thou hast mocked H3808 בי ולא and hast not H5046 הגדת told H4100 לי במה me wherein H3581 כחך strength H1419 גדול׃ thy great

16 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H3588 כי when H6693 הציקה she pressed H1697 לו בדבריה with her words, H3605 כל him daily H3117 הימים him daily H509 ותאלצהו and urged H7114 ותקצר was vexed H5315 נפשׁו him, that his soul H4191 למות׃ unto death;

17 H5046 ויגד That he told H853 לה את H3605 כל her all H3820 לבו his heart, H559 ויאמר and said H4177 לה מורה a razor H3808 לא unto her, There hath not H5927 עלה come H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁי mine head; H3588 כי for H5139 נזיר a Nazarite H430 אלהים unto God H589 אני I H990 מבטן womb: H517 אמי from my mother's H518 אם if H1548 גלחתי I be shaven, H5493 וסר will go H4480 ממני womb: H3581 כחי then my strength H2470 וחליתי me, and I shall become weak, H1961 והייתי and be H3605 ככל like any H120 האדם׃ man.

18 H7200 ותרא saw H1807 דלילה And when Delilah H3588 כי that H5046 הגיד he had told H853 לה את H3605 כל her all H3820 לבו his heart, H7971 ותשׁלח she sent H7121 ותקרא and called H5633 לסרני for the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines, H559 לאמר saying, H5927 עלו Come up H6471 הפעם this once, H3588 כי for H5046 הגיד he hath showed H853 לה את H3605 כל me all H3820 לבו his heart. H5927 ועלו came up H413 אליה unto H5633 סרני Then the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H5927 ויעלו her, and brought H3701 הכסף money H3027 בידם׃ in their hand.

19 H3462 ותישׁנהו And she made him sleep H5921 על upon H1290 ברכיה her knees; H7121 ותקרא and she called H376 לאישׁ for a man, H1548 ותגלח and she caused him to shave off H853 את H7651 שׁבע the seven H4253 מחלפות locks H7218 ראשׁו of his head; H2490 ותחל and she began H6031 לענותו to afflict H5493 ויסר went H3581 כחו him, and his strength H5921 מעליו׃ from

20 H559 ותאמר And she said, H6430 פלשׁתים The Philistines H5921 עליך upon H8123 שׁמשׁון thee, Samson. H3364 ויקץ And he awoke H8142 משׁנתו out of his sleep, H559 ויאמר and said, H3318 אצא I will go out H6471 כפעם as at other times before, H6471 בפעם as at other times before, H5287 ואנער and shake myself. H1931 והוא And he H3808 לא not H3045 ידע knew H3588 כי that H3068 יהוה the LORD H5493 סר was departed H5921 מעליו׃ from

21 H270 ויאחזוהו took H6430 פלשׁתים But the Philistines H5365 וינקרו him, and put out H853 את H5869 עיניו his eyes, H3381 ויורידו H853 אותו H5804 עזתה to Gaza, H631 ויאסרוהו and bound H5178 בנחשׁתים him with fetters of brass; H1961 ויהי and he did H2912 טוחן grind H1004 בבית house. H615 האסירים׃ in the prison

22 H2490 ויחל began H8181 שׂער Howbeit the hair H7218 ראשׁו of his head H6779 לצמח to grow again H834 כאשׁר after H1548 גלח׃ he was shaven.
