Joshua 22:16-26 כה Thus אמרו saith כל the whole עדת congregation יהוה of the LORD, מה What המעל ye have committed הזה this אשׁר that מעלתם באלהי against the God ישׂראל of Israel, לשׁוב to turn away היום this day מאחרי from following יהוה the LORD, בבנותכם in that ye have built לכם מזבח you an altar, למרדכם that ye might rebel היום this day ביהוה׃ against the LORD?

16 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמרו saith H3605 כל the whole H5712 עדת congregation H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H4100 מה What H4603 המעל ye have committed H2088 הזה this H834 אשׁר that H4603 מעלתם H430 באלהי against the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H7725 לשׁוב to turn away H3117 היום this day H310 מאחרי from following H3068 יהוה the LORD, H1129 בבנותכם in that ye have built H4196 לכם מזבח you an altar, H4775 למרדכם that ye might rebel H3117 היום this day H3068 ביהוה׃ against the LORD?

17 H4592 המעט too little H853 לנו את H5771 עון the iniquity H6465 פעור of Peor H834 אשׁר which H3808 לא we are not H2891 הטהרנו cleansed H4480 ממנו for us, from H5704 עד until H3117 היום day, H2088 הזה this H1961 ויהי although there was H5063 הנגף a plague H5712 בעדת in the congregation H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD,

18 H859 ואתם But that ye H7725 תשׁבו must turn away H3117 היום this day H310 מאחרי from following H3068 יהוה the LORD? H1961 והיה and it will be, H859 אתם ye H4775 תמרדו rebel H3117 היום today H3068 ביהוה against the LORD, H4279 ומחר that tomorrow H413 אל with H3605 כל the whole H5712 עדת congregation H3478 ישׂראל of Israel. H7107 יקצף׃ he will be wroth

19 H389 ואך Notwithstanding, H518 אם if H2931 טמאה unclean, H776 ארץ the land H272 אחזתכם of your possession H5674 עברו pass ye over H413 לכם אל unto H776 ארץ the land H272 אחזת of the possession H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H834 אשׁר wherein H7931 שׁכן dwelleth, H8033 שׁם dwelleth, H4908 משׁכן tabernacle H3068 יהוה the LORD's H270 והאחזו and take possession H8432 בתוכנו among H3068 וביהוה against the LORD, H408 אל not H4775 תמרדו us: but rebel H854 ואתנו H408 אל nor H4775 תמרדו rebel H1129 בבנתכם against us, in building H4196 לכם מזבח you an altar H1107 מבלעדי beside H4196 מזבח the altar H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהינו׃ our God.

20 H3808 הלוא Did not H5912 עכן Achan H1121 בן the son H2226 זרח of Zerah H4603 מעל commit H4604 מעל a trespass H2764 בחרם in the accursed thing, H5921 ועל on H3605 כל all H5712 עדת the congregation H3478 ישׂראל of Israel? H1961 היה fell H7110 קצף and wrath H1931 והוא and that H376 אישׁ man H259 אחד alone H3808 לא not H1478 גוע perished H5771 בעונו׃ in his iniquity.

21 H6030 ויענו answered, H1121 בני Then the children H7205 ראובן of Reuben H1121 ובני and the children H1410 גד of Gad H2677 וחצי and the half H7626 שׁבט tribe H4519 המנשׁה of Manasseh H1696 וידברו and said H853 את H7218 ראשׁי unto the heads H505 אלפי of the thousands H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel,

22 H410 אל God H430 אלהים of gods, H3068 יהוה The LORD H410 אל God H430 אלהים of gods, H3068 יהוה the LORD H1931 הוא he H3045 ידע knoweth, H3478 וישׂראל and Israel H1931 הוא he H3045 ידע shall know; H518 אם if H4777 במרד in rebellion, H518 ואם or if H4604 במעל in transgression H3068 ביהוה against the LORD, H408 אל us not H3467 תושׁיענו (save H3117 היום day,) H2088 הזה׃ this

23 H1129 לבנות That we have built H4196 לנו מזבח us an altar H7725 לשׁוב to turn H310 מאחרי from following H3068 יהוה the LORD, H518 ואם or if H5927 להעלות to offer H5921 עליו thereon H5930 עולה burnt offering H4503 ומנחה or meat offering, H518 ואם or if H6213 לעשׂות to offer H5921 עליו thereon, H2077 זבחי offerings H8002 שׁלמים peace H3068 יהוה let the LORD H1931 הוא himself H1245 יבקשׁ׃ require

24 H518 ואם And if H3808 לא we have not H1674 מדאגה for fear H1697 מדבר of thing, H6213 עשׂינו done H853 את H2063 זאת it H559 לאמר saying, H4279 מחר In time to come H559 יאמרו might speak H1121 בניכם your children H1121 לבנינו unto our children, H559 לאמר saying, H4100 מה What H3068 לכם וליהוה have ye to do with the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel?

25 H1366 וגבול a border H5414 נתן hath made H3068 יהוה For the LORD H996 ביננו between H996 וביניכם H1121 בני us and you, ye children H7205 ראובן of Reuben H1121 ובני and children H1410 גד of Gad; H853 את H3383 הירדן Jordan H369 אין ye have no H2506 לכם חלק part H3068 ביהוה in the LORD: H7673 והשׁביתו cease H1121 בניכם so shall your children H853 את H1121 בנינו make our children H1115 לבלתי H3372 ירא from fearing H853 את H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.

26 H559 ונאמר Therefore we said, H6213 נעשׂה prepare H4994 נא Let us now H1129 לנו לבנות to build H853 את H4196 המזבח us an altar, H3808 לא not H5930 לעולה for burnt H3808 ולא offering, nor H2077 לזבח׃ for sacrifice:
