Jonah 1:3-5 ויקם rose up יונה But Jonah לברח to flee תרשׁישׁה unto Tarshish מלפני from the presence יהוה of the LORD, וירד and went down יפו to Joppa; וימצא and he found אניה a ship באה going תרשׁישׁ to Tarshish: ויתן so he paid שׂכרה the fare וירד thereof, and went down בה לבוא into it, to go עמהם with תרשׁישׁה them unto Tarshish מלפני from the presence יהוה׃ of the LORD.

3 H6965 ויקם rose up H3124 יונה But Jonah H1272 לברח to flee H8659 תרשׁישׁה unto Tarshish H6440 מלפני from the presence H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H3381 וירד and went down H3305 יפו to Joppa; H4672 וימצא and he found H591 אניה a ship H935 באה going H8659 תרשׁישׁ to Tarshish: H5414 ויתן so he paid H7939 שׂכרה the fare H3381 וירד thereof, and went down H935 בה לבוא into it, to go H5973 עמהם with H8659 תרשׁישׁה them unto Tarshish H6440 מלפני from the presence H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD.

4 H3068 ויהוה But the LORD H2904 הטיל sent out H7307 רוח wind H1419 גדולה a great H413 אל into H3220 הים the sea, H1961 ויהי and there was H5591 סער tempest H1419 גדול a mighty H3220 בים in the sea, H591 והאניה so that the ship H2803 חשׁבה was like H7665 להשׁבר׃ to be broken.

5 H3372 וייראו were afraid, H4419 המלחים Then the mariners H2199 ויזעקו and cried H376 אישׁ every man H413 אל unto H430 אלהיו his god, H2904 ויטלו and cast forth H853 את H3627 הכלים the wares H834 אשׁר that H591 באניה in the ship H413 אל into H3220 הים the sea, H7043 להקל to lighten H5921 מעליהם of H3124 ויונה them. But Jonah H3381 ירד was gone down H413 אל into H3411 ירכתי the sides H5600 הספינה of the ship; H7901 וישׁכב and he lay, H7290 וירדם׃ and was fast asleep.
