Jeremiah 40:6-12

  6 H935 ויבא Then went H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah H413 אל unto H1436 גדליה Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H4708 המצפתה to Mizpah; H3427 וישׁב and dwelt H854 אתו with H8432 בתוך him among H5971 העם the people H7604 הנשׁארים that were left H776 בארץ׃ in the land.

  7 H8085 וישׁמעו heard H3605 כל Now when all H8269 שׂרי the captains H2428 החילים of the forces H834 אשׁר which H7704 בשׂדה in the fields, H1992 המה they H376 ואנשׁיהם and their men, H3588 כי that H6485 הפקיד governor H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon H853 את   H1436 גדליהו had made Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H776 בארץ in the land, H3588 וכי and H6485 הפקיד had committed H854 אתו unto H376 אנשׁים him men, H802 ונשׁים and women, H2945 וטף and children, H1803 ומדלת and of the poor H776 הארץ of the land, H834 מאשׁר of them that H3808 לא were not H1540 הגלו carried away captive H894 בבלה׃ to Babylon;

  8 H935 ויבאו Then they came H413 אל to H1436 גדליה Gedaliah H4708 המצפתה to Mizpah, H3458 וישׁמעאל even Ishmael H1121 בן the son H5418 נתניהו of Nethaniah, H3110 ויוחנן and Johanan H3129 ויונתן and Jonathan H1121 בני the sons H7143 קרח of Kareah, H8304 ושׂריה and Seraiah H1121 בן the son H8576 תנחמת of Tanhumeth, H1121 ובני and the sons H5778 עופי of Ephai H5200 הנטפתי the Netophathite, H3153 ויזניהו and Jezaniah H1121 בן the son H4602 המעכתי of a Maachathite, H1992 המה they H582 ואנשׁיהם׃  

  9 H7650 וישׁבע swore H1436 להם גדליהו And Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן of Shaphan H376 ולאנשׁיהם unto them and to their men, H559 לאמר saying, H408 אל not H3372 תיראו Fear H5647 מעבוד to serve H3778 הכשׂדים the Chaldeans: H3427 שׁבו dwell H776 בארץ in the land, H5647 ועבדו and serve H853 את   H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon, H3190 וייטב׃ and it shall be well

  10 H589 ואני As for me, H2005 הנני   H3427 ישׁב I will dwell H4709 במצפה at Mizpah H5975 לעמד to serve H6440 לפני to serve H3778 הכשׂדים the Chaldeans, H834 אשׁר which H935 יבאו will come H413 אלינו unto H859 ואתם us: but ye, H622 אספו gather H3196 יין ye wine, H7019 וקיץ and summer fruits, H8081 ושׁמן and oil, H7760 ושׂמו and put H3627 בכליכם in your vessels, H3427 ושׁבו and dwell H5892 בעריכם in your cities H834 אשׁר that H8610 תפשׂתם׃ ye have taken.

  11 H1571 וגם Likewise H3605 כל when all H3064 היהודים the Jews H834 אשׁר that H4124 במואב in Moab, H1121 ובבני the son H5983 עמון   H123 ובאדום and in Edom, H834 ואשׁר and that H3605 בכל in all H776 הארצות the countries, H8085 שׁמעו heard H3588 כי that H5414 נתן had left H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon H7611 שׁארית a remnant H3063 ליהודה of Judah, H3588 וכי and that H6485 הפקיד he had set H5921 עליהם over H853 את   H1436 גדליהו them Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H1121 בן   H8227 שׁפן׃ of Shaphan;

  12 H7725 וישׁבו returned H3605 כל Even all H3064 היהודים the Jews H3605 מכל out of all H4725 המקמות places H834 אשׁר whither H5080 נדחו they were driven, H8033 שׁם whither H935 ויבאו and came H776 ארץ to the land H3063 יהודה of Judah, H413 אל to H1436 גדליהו Gedaliah, H4708 המצפתה unto Mizpah, H622 ויאספו and gathered H3196 יין wine H7019 וקיץ and summer fruits H7235 הרבה   H3966 מאד׃ very
