Genesis 28 ויקרא called יצחק And Isaac אל called יעקב Jacob, ויברך and blessed אתו ויצוהו him, and charged ויאמר him, and said לו לא unto him, Thou shalt not תקח take אשׁה a wife מבנות of the daughters כנען׃ of Canaan.

3 H410 ואל And God H7706 שׁדי Almighty H1288 יברך bless H853 אתך H6509 ויפרך thee, and make thee fruitful, H7235 וירבך and multiply H1961 והיית thee, that thou mayest be H6951 לקהל a multitude H5971 עמים׃ of people;

4 H5414 ויתן And give H853 לך את H1293 ברכת thee the blessing H85 אברהם of Abraham, H2233 לך ולזרעך to thee, and to thy seed H854 אתך with H3423 לרשׁתך thee; that thou mayest inherit H853 את H776 ארץ the land H4033 מגריך wherein thou art a stranger, H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתן gave H430 אלהים God H85 לאברהם׃ unto Abraham.

5 H7971 וישׁלח sent away H3327 יצחק And Isaac H853 את H3290 יעקב Jacob: H1980 וילך and he went H6307 פדנה ארם to Padan-aram H413 אל unto H3837 לבן Laban, H1121 בן son H1328 בתואל of Bethuel H761 הארמי the Syrian, H251 אחי the brother H7259 רבקה of Rebekah, H517 אם mother. H3290 יעקב Jacob's H6215 ועשׂו׃ and Esau's

6 H7200 וירא saw H6215 עשׂו When Esau H3588 כי that H1288 ברך had blessed H3327 יצחק Isaac H853 את H3290 יעקב Jacob, H7971 ושׁלח H853 אתו H6307 פדנה ארם to Padan-aram, H3947 לקחת to take H8033 לו משׁם from thence; H802 אשׁה him a wife H1288 בברכו and that as he blessed H853 אתו H6680 ויצו him he gave him a charge, H5921 עליו him he gave him a charge, H559 לאמר saying, H3808 לא Thou shalt not H3947 תקח take H802 אשׁה a wife H1323 מבנות of the daughters H3667 כנען׃ of Canaan;

7 H8085 וישׁמע obeyed H3290 יעקב And that Jacob H413 אל obeyed H1 אביו his father H413 ואל H517 אמו and his mother, H1980 וילך and was gone H6307 פדנה ארם׃ to Padan-aram;

8 H7200 וירא seeing H6215 עשׂו And Esau H3588 כי that H7451 רעות pleased not H1323 בנות the daughters H3667 כנען of Canaan H5869 בעיני pleased not H3327 יצחק Isaac H1 אביו׃ his father;

9 H1980 וילך Then went H6215 עשׂו Esau H413 אל unto H3458 ישׁמעאל Ishmael, H3947 ויקח and took H853 את H4258 מחלת which he had Mahalath H1323 בת the daughter H3458 ישׁמעאל of Ishmael H1121 בן son, H85 אברהם Abraham's H269 אחות the sister H5032 נביות of Nebajoth, H5921 על unto H802 נשׁיו the wives H802 לו לאשׁה׃ to be his wife.

10 H3318 ויצא went out H3290 יעקב And Jacob H884 מבאר שׁבע H1980 וילך and went H2771 חרנה׃ toward Haran.

11 H6293 ויפגע And he lighted H4725 במקום upon a certain place, H3885 וילן and tarried there all night, H8033 שׁם and tarried there all night, H3588 כי because H935 בא was set; H8121 השׁמשׁ the sun H3947 ויקח and he took H68 מאבני of the stones H4725 המקום of that place, H7760 וישׂם and put H4763 מראשׁתיו his pillows, H7901 וישׁכב and lay down H4725 במקום place H1931 ההוא׃ in that

12 H2492 ויחלם And he dreamed, H2009 והנה and behold H5551 סלם a ladder H5324 מצב set up H776 ארצה on the earth, H7218 וראשׁו and the top H5060 מגיע of it reached H8064 השׁמימה to heaven: H2009 והנה and behold H4397 מלאכי the angels H430 אלהים of God H5927 עלים ascending H3381 וירדים׃ and descending

13 H2009 והנה And, behold, H3068 יהוה the LORD H5324 נצב stood H5921 עליו above H559 ויאמר it, and said, H589 אני I H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H85 אברהם of Abraham H1 אביך thy father, H430 ואלהי and the God H3327 יצחק of Isaac: H776 הארץ the land H834 אשׁר whereon H859 אתה thou H7901 שׁכב liest, H5921 עליה whereon H5414 לך אתננה to thee will I give H2233 ולזרעך׃ it, and to thy seed;

14 H1961 והיה shall be H2233 זרעך And thy seed H6083 כעפר as the dust H776 הארץ of the earth, H6555 ופרצת and thou shalt spread abroad H3220 ימה to the west, H6924 וקדמה and to the east, H6828 וצפנה and to the north, H5045 ונגבה and to the south: H1288 ונברכו be blessed. H3605 בך כל shall all H4940 משׁפחת the families H127 האדמה of the earth H2233 ובזרעך׃ and in thee and in thy seed

15 H2009 והנה And, behold, H595 אנכי I H5973 עמך with H8104 ושׁמרתיך thee, and will keep H3605 בכל thee in all H834 אשׁר whither H1980 תלך thou goest, H7725 והשׁבתיך and will bring thee again H413 אל into H127 האדמה land; H2063 הזאת this H3588 כי for H3808 לא I will not H5800 אעזבך leave H5704 עד thee, until H834 אשׁר which H518 אם H6213 עשׂיתי I have done H853 את H834 אשׁר H1696 דברתי׃ I have spoken

16 H3364 וייקץ awaked H3290 יעקב And Jacob H8142 משׁנתו out of his sleep, H559 ויאמר and he said, H403 אכן Surely H3426 ישׁ is H3068 יהוה the LORD H4725 במקום place; H2088 הזה in this H595 ואנכי and I H3808 לא not. H3045 ידעתי׃ knew

17 H3372 ויירא And he was afraid, H559 ויאמר and said, H4100 מה How H3372 נורא dreadful H4725 המקום place! H2088 הזה this H369 אין none H2088 זה this H3588 כי other but H518 אם other but H1004 בית the house H430 אלהים of God, H2088 וזה and this H8179 שׁער the gate H8064 השׁמים׃ of heaven.

18 H7925 וישׁכם rose up early H3290 יעקב And Jacob H1242 בבקר in the morning, H3947 ויקח and took H853 את H68 האבן the stone H834 אשׁר that H7760 שׂם he had put H4763 מראשׁתיו his pillows, H7760 וישׂם H853 אתה H4676 מצבה a pillar, H3332 ויצק and poured H8081 שׁמן oil H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁה׃ the top

19 H7121 ויקרא And he called H853 את H8034 שׁם the name H4725 המקום place H1931 ההוא of that H1008 בית אל Bethel: H199 ואולם but H3870 לוז Luz H8034 שׁם the name H5892 העיר of that city H7223 לראשׁנה׃ at the first.

20 H5087 וידר vowed H3290 יעקב And Jacob H5088 נדר a vow, H559 לאמר saying, H518 אם If H1961 יהיה will be H430 אלהים God H5978 עמדי H8104 ושׁמרני me, and will keep H1870 בדרך way H2088 הזה me in this H834 אשׁר that H595 אנכי I H1980 הולך go, H5414 ונתן and will give H3899 לי לחם me bread H398 לאכל to eat, H899 ובגד and raiment H3847 ללבשׁ׃ to put on,

21 H7725 ושׁבתי So that I come again H7965 בשׁלום in peace; H413 אל to H1004 בית house H1 אבי my father's H1961 והיה be H3068 יהוה then shall the LORD H430 לי לאלהים׃ my God:

22 H68 והאבן stone, H2063 הזאת And this H834 אשׁר which H7760 שׂמתי I have set H4676 מצבה a pillar, H1961 יהיה shall be H1004 בית house: H430 אלהים God's H3605 וכל and of all H834 אשׁר that H5414 תתן thou shalt give H6237 לי עשׂר H6237 אעשׂרנו׃
