Ezra 4:2-10 ויגשׁו Then they came אל to זרבבל Zerubbabel, ואל and to ראשׁי the chief האבות of the fathers, ויאמרו and said להם נבנה unto them, Let us build עמכם with כי you: for ככם נדרושׁ we seek לאלהיכם your God, ולא אנחנו as ye and we זבחים do sacrifice מימי unto him since the days אסר חדן of Esar-haddon מלך king אשׁור of Assur, המעלה אתנו פה׃ hither.

3 H559 ויאמר said H2216 להם זרבבל But Zerubbabel, H3442 וישׁוע and Jeshua, H7605 ושׁאר and the rest H7218 ראשׁי of the chief H1 האבות of the fathers H3478 לישׂראל of Israel, H3808 לא unto them, Ye have nothing H1129 לכם ולנו לבנות to do with us to build H1004 בית a house H430 לאלהינו unto our God; H3588 כי but H587 אנחנו we ourselves H3162 יחד together H1129 נבנה will build H3068 ליהוה unto the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צונו hath commanded H4428 המלך king H3566 כורשׁ Cyrus H4428 מלך the king H6539 פרס׃ of Persia

4 H1961 ויהי H5971 עם Then the people H776 הארץ of the land H7503 מרפים weakened H3027 ידי the hands H5971 עם of the people H3063 יהודה of Judah, H1086 ומבלהים H853 אותם H1129 לבנות׃ them in building,

5 H7936 וסכרים And hired H5921 עליהם against H3289 יועצים counselors H6565 להפר them, to frustrate H6098 עצתם their purpose, H3605 כל all H3117 ימי the days H3566 כורשׁ of Cyrus H4428 מלך king H6539 פרס of Persia, H5704 ועד even until H4438 מלכות the reign H1867 דריושׁ of Darius H4428 מלך king H6539 פרס׃ of Persia.

6 H4438 ובמלכות And in the reign H325 אחשׁורושׁ of Ahasuerus, H8462 בתחלת in the beginning H4438 מלכותו of his reign, H3789 כתבו wrote H7855 שׂטנה they an accusation H5921 על against H3427 ישׁבי the inhabitants H3063 יהודה of Judah H3389 וירושׁלם׃ and Jerusalem.

7 H3117 ובימי And in the days H783 ארתחשׁשׂתא of Artaxerxes H3789 כתב wrote H1312 בשׁלם Bishlam, H4990 מתרדת Mithredath, H2870 טבאל Tabeel, H7605 ושׁאר and the rest H3674 כנותו of their companions, H5921 על unto H783 ארתחשׁשׂתא Artaxerxes H4428 מלך king H6539 פרס of Persia; H3791 וכתב and the writing H5406 הנשׁתון of the letter H3789 כתוב written H762 ארמית in the Syrian tongue, H8638 ומתרגם and interpreted H762 ארמית׃ in the Syrian tongue.

8 H7348 רחום Rehum H1169 בעל the chancellor H2942 טעם the chancellor H8124 ושׁמשׁי and Shimshai H5613 ספרא the scribe H3790 כתבו wrote H104 אגרה letter H2298 חדה a H5922 על against H3390 ירושׁלם Jerusalem H783 לארתחשׁשׂתא to Artaxerxes H4430 מלכא the king H3660 כנמא׃ in this sort:

10 H7606 ושׁאר And the rest H524 אמיא of the nations H1768 די whom H1541 הגלי brought over, H620 אסנפר Asnappar H7229 רבא the great H3358 ויקירא and noble H3488 והותב and set H1994 המו H7149 בקריה in the cities H1768 די of H8115 שׁמרין Samaria, H7606 ושׁאר and the rest H5675 עבר on this side H5103 נהרה the river, H3706 וכענת׃ and at such a time.
