Exodus 31:14 ושׁמרתם Ye shall keep את השׁבת the sabbath כי therefore; for קדשׁ holy הוא it לכם מחלליה unto you: every one that defileth מות it shall surely be put to death: יומת it shall surely be put to death: כי for כל whosoever העשׂה doeth בה מלאכה work ונכרתה shall be cut off הנפשׁ soul ההוא therein, that מקרב from among עמיה׃ his people.
