2 Samuel 12 וישׁלח sent יהוה And the LORD את נתן Nathan אל unto דוד David. ויבא And he came אליו unto ויאמר him, and said לו שׁני two אנשׁים היו unto him, There were בעיר city; אחת in one אחד the one עשׁיר rich, ואחד and the other ראשׁ׃ poor.

H935 ויבא And he came H413 אליו unto H559 ויאמר him, and said H8147 לו שׁני two H582 אנשׁים H1961 היו unto him, There were H5892 בעיר city; H259 אחת in one H259 אחד the one H6223 עשׁיר rich, H259 ואחד and the other H7326 ראשׁ׃ poor.

2 H6223 לעשׁיר The rich H1961 היה had H6629 צאן flocks H1241 ובקר and herds: H7235 הרבה many H3966 מאד׃ exceeding

3 H7326 ולרשׁ But the poor H369 אין had nothing, H3605 כל had nothing, H3588 כי save H518 אם save H3535 כבשׂה ewe lamb, H259 אחת one H6996 קטנה little H834 אשׁר which H7069 קנה bought H2421 ויחיה and nourished up: H1431 ותגדל and it grew up H5973 עמו with H5973 ועם him, and with H1121 בניו his children; H3162 יחדו together H6595 מפתו of his own meat, H398 תאכל it did eat H3563 ומכסו of his own cup, H8354 תשׁתה and drank H2436 ובחיקו in his bosom, H7901 תשׁכב and lay H1961 ותהי he had H1323 לו כבת׃ unto him as a daughter.

4 H935 ויבא And there came H1982 הלך a traveler H376 לאישׁ man, H6223 העשׁיר unto the rich H2550 ויחמל and he spared H3947 לקחת to take H6629 מצאנו of his own flock H1241 ומבקרו and of his own herd, H6213 לעשׂות to dress H732 לארח for the wayfaring man H935 הבא that was come H3947 לו ויקח unto him; but took H853 את H3535 כבשׂת lamb, H376 האישׁ man's H7326 הראשׁ the poor H6213 ויעשׂה and dressed H376 לאישׁ it for the man H935 הבא that was come H413 אליו׃ to

5 H2734 ויחר kindled H639 אף anger H1732 דוד And David's H376 באישׁ against the man; H3966 מאד was greatly H559 ויאמר and he said H413 אל to H5416 נתן Nathan, H2416 חי liveth, H3068 יהוה the LORD H3588 כי shall surely die: H1121 בן H4194 מות H376 האישׁ the man H6213 העשׂה that hath done H2063 זאת׃ this

6 H853 ואת H3535 הכבשׂה the lamb H7999 ישׁלם And he shall restore H706 ארבעתים fourfold, H6118 עקב because H834 אשׁר because H6213 עשׂה he did H853 את H1697 הדבר thing, H2088 הזה this H5921 ועל and because H834 אשׁר and because H3808 לא he had no H2550 חמל׃ pity.

7 H559 ויאמר said H5416 נתן And Nathan H413 אל to H1732 דוד David, H859 אתה Thou H376 האישׁ the man. H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H595 אנכי I H4886 משׁחתיך anointed H4428 למלך thee king H5921 על over H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H595 ואנכי and I H5337 הצלתיך delivered H3027 מיד thee out of the hand H7586 שׁאול׃ of Saul;

8 H5414 ואתנה And I gave H853 לך את H1004 בית house, H113 אדניך thee thy master's H853 ואת H802 נשׁי wives H113 אדניך and thy master's H2436 בחיקך into thy bosom, H5414 ואתנה and gave H853 לך את H1004 בית thee the house H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3063 ויהודה and of Judah; H518 ואם and if H4592 מעט too little, H3254 ואספה I would moreover have given H2007 לך כהנה unto thee such H2007 וכהנה׃ and such

9 H4069 מדוע Wherefore H959 בזית hast thou despised H853 את H1697 דבר the commandment H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H6213 לעשׂות to do H7451 הרע evil H5869 בעינו in his sight? H853 את H223 אוריה Uriah H2850 החתי the Hittite H5221 הכית thou hast killed H2719 בחרב with the sword, H853 ואת H802 אשׁתו his wife H3947 לקחת and hast taken H802 לך לאשׁה thy wife, H853 ואתו H2026 הרגת and hast slain H2719 בחרב him with the sword H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון׃ of Ammon.

10 H6258 ועתה Now H3808 לא shall never H5493 תסור depart H2719 חרב therefore the sword H1004 מביתך from thine house; H5704 עד H5769 עולם H6118 עקב because H3588 כי because H959 בזתני thou hast despised H3947 ותקח me, and hast taken H853 את H802 אשׁת the wife H223 אוריה of Uriah H2850 החתי the Hittite H1961 להיות to be H802 לך לאשׁה׃ thy wife.

11 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H2005 הנני H6965 מקים I will raise up H5921 עליך against H7451 רעה evil H1004 מביתך thee out of thine own house, H3947 ולקחתי and I will take H853 את H802 נשׁיך thy wives H5869 לעיניך before thine eyes, H5414 ונתתי and give H7453 לרעיך unto thy neighbor, H7901 ושׁכב and he shall lie H5973 עם with H802 נשׁיך thy wives H5869 לעיני in the sight H8121 השׁמשׁ sun. H2063 הזאת׃ of this

12 H3588 כי For H859 אתה thou H6213 עשׂית didst H5643 בסתר secretly: H589 ואני but I H6213 אעשׂה will do H853 את H1697 הדבר thing H2088 הזה this H5048 נגד before H3605 כל all H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H5048 ונגד and before H8121 השׁמשׁ׃ the sun.

13 H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד And David H413 אל unto H5416 נתן Nathan, H2398 חטאתי I have sinned H3068 ליהוה against the LORD. H559 ויאמר said H5416 נתן And Nathan H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David, H1571 גם also H3068 יהוה The LORD H5674 העביר hath put away H2403 חטאתך thy sin; H3808 לא thou shalt not H4191 תמות׃ die.

14 H657 אפס Howbeit, H3588 כי because H5006 נאץ thou hast given great occasion H5006 נאצת to blaspheme, H853 את H341 איבי to the enemies H3068 יהוה of the LORD H1697 בדבר deed H2088 הזה by this H1571 גם also H1121 הבן the child H3209 הילוד born H4191 לך מות unto thee shall surely die. H4191 ימות׃ unto thee shall surely die.

15 H1980 וילך departed H5416 נתן And Nathan H413 אל unto H1004 ביתו his house. H5062 ויגף struck H3068 יהוה And the LORD H853 את H3206 הילד the child H834 אשׁר that H3205 ילדה bore H802 אשׁת wife H223 אוריה Uriah's H1732 לדוד unto David, H605 ויאנשׁ׃ and it was very sick.

16 H1245 ויבקשׁ therefore besought H1732 דוד David H853 את H430 האלהים God H1157 בעד for H5288 הנער the child; H6684 ויצם fasted, H1732 דוד and David H6685 צום fasted, H935 ובא and went H3885 ולן night H7901 ושׁכב in, and lay H776 ארצה׃ upon the earth.

17 H6965 ויקמו arose, H2205 זקני And the elders H1004 ביתו of his house H5921 עליו to H6965 להקימו him, to raise him up H4480 מן from H776 הארץ the earth: H3808 ולא not, H14 אבה but he would H3808 ולא neither H1254 ברא H854 אתם with H3899 לחם׃ bread

18 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H3117 ביום day, H7637 השׁביעי on the seventh H4191 וימת died. H3206 הילד that the child H3372 ויראו feared H5650 עבדי And the servants H1732 דוד of David H5046 להגיד to tell H3588 לו כי him that H4191 מת was dead: H3206 הילד the child H3588 כי for H559 אמרו they said, H2009 הנה Behold, H1961 בהיות was H3206 הילד while the child H2416 חי yet alive, H1696 דברנו we spoke H413 אליו unto H3808 ולא him, and he would not H8085 שׁמע hearken H6963 בקולנו unto our voice: H349 ואיך how H559 נאמר himself, if we tell H413 אליו himself, if we tell H4191 מת is dead? H3206 הילד him that the child H6213 ועשׂה will he then vex H7451 רעה׃ will he then vex

19 H7200 וירא saw H1732 דוד But when David H3588 כי that H5650 עבדיו his servants H3907 מתלחשׁים whispered, H995 ויבן perceived H1732 דוד David H3588 כי that H4191 מת was dead: H3206 הילד the child H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד therefore David H413 אל unto H5650 עבדיו his servants, H4191 המת dead? H3206 הילד Is the child H559 ויאמרו And they said, H4191 מת׃ He is dead.

20 H6965 ויקם arose H1732 דוד Then David H776 מהארץ from the earth, H7364 וירחץ and washed, H5480 ויסך and anointed H2498 ויחלף and changed H8071 שׂמלתו his apparel, H935 ויבא and came H1004 בית into the house H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H7812 וישׁתחו and worshiped: H935 ויבא then he came H413 אל to H1004 ביתו his own house; H7592 וישׁאל and when he required, H7760 וישׂימו they set H3899 לו לחם bread H398 ויאכל׃ before him, and he did eat.

21 H559 ויאמרו Then said H5650 עבדיו his servants H413 אליו unto H4100 מה him, What H1697 הדבר thing H2088 הזה this H834 אשׁר that H6213 עשׂיתה thou hast done? H5668 בעבור while H3206 הילד for the child, H2416 חי alive; H6684 צמת thou didst fast H1058 ותבך and weep H834 וכאשׁר but when H4191 מת was dead, H3206 הילד the child H6965 קמת thou didst rise H398 ותאכל and eat H3899 לחם׃ bread.

22 H559 ויאמר And he said, H5750 בעוד was yet H3206 הילד While the child H2416 חי alive, H6684 צמתי I fasted H1058 ואבכה and wept: H3588 כי for H559 אמרתי I said, H4310 מי Who H3045 יודע can tell H2603 יחנני will be gracious H3068 יהוה GOD H2416 וחי may live? H3206 הילד׃ to me, that the child

23 H6258 ועתה But now H4191 מת he is dead, H4100 למה wherefore H2088 זה wherefore H589 אני should I H6684 צם fast? H3201 האוכל can H7725 להשׁיבו I bring him back H5750 עוד again? H589 אני I H1980 הלך shall go H413 אליו to H1931 והוא him, but he H3808 לא shall not H7725 ישׁוב return H413 אלי׃ to

24 H5162 וינחם comforted H1732 דוד And David H853 את H1339 בת\'ceשׁבע Bath-sheba H802 אשׁתו his wife, H935 ויבא and went H413 אליה in unto H7901 וישׁכב her, and lay H5973 עמה with H3205 ותלד her: and she bore H1121 בן a son, H7121 ויקרא and he called H853 את H8034 שׁמו his name H8010 שׁלמה Solomon: H3068 ויהוה and the LORD H157 אהבו׃ loved

25 H7971 וישׁלח And he sent H3027 ביד by the hand H5416 נתן of Nathan H5030 הנביא the prophet; H7121 ויקרא and he called H853 את H8034 שׁמו his name H3041 ידידיה Jedidiah, H5668 בעבור because H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD.

26 H3898 וילחם fought H3097 יואב And Joab H7237 ברבת against Rabbah H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון of Ammon, H3920 וילכד and took H853 את H5892 עיר city. H4410 המלוכה׃ the royal

27 H7971 וישׁלח sent H3097 יואב And Joab H4397 מלאכים messengers H413 אל to H1732 דוד David, H559 ויאמר and said, H3898 נלחמתי I have fought H7237 ברבה against Rabbah, H1571 גם and H3920 לכדתי have taken H853 את H5892 עיר the city H4325 המים׃ of waters.

28 H6258 ועתה Now H622 אסף therefore gather H853 את H3499 יתר the rest H5971 העם of the people H2583 וחנה together, and encamp H5921 על against H5892 העיר the city, H3920 ולכדה and take H6435 פן it: lest H3920 אלכד take H589 אני I H853 את H5892 העיר the city, H7121 ונקרא and it be called H8034 שׁמי my name. H5921 עליה׃ after

29 H622 ויאסף gathered H1732 דוד And David H853 את H3605 כל all H5971 העם the people H1980 וילך together, and went H7237 רבתה to Rabbah, H3898 וילחם and fought H3920 בה וילכדה׃ against it, and took

30 H3947 ויקח And he took H853 את H5850 עטרת crown H4428 מלכם their king's H5921 מעל from off H7218 ראשׁו his head, H4948 ומשׁקלה the weight H3603 ככר whereof a talent H2091 זהב of gold H68 ואבן stones: H3368 יקרה with the precious H1961 ותהי and it was H5921 על on H7218 ראשׁ head. H1732 דוד David's H7998 ושׁלל the spoil H5892 העיר of the city H3318 הוציא And he brought forth H7235 הרבה abundance. H3966 מאד׃ in great

31 H853 ואת H5971 העם the people H834 אשׁר that H3318 בה הוציא And he brought forth H7760 וישׂם therein, and put H4050 במגרה under saws, H2757 ובחרצי and under harrows H1270 הברזל of iron, H4037 ובמגזרת and under axes H1270 הברזל of iron, H5674 והעביר H853 אותם H4404 במלכן the brickkiln: H3651 וכן and thus H6213 יעשׂה did H3605 לכל he unto all H5892 ערי the cities H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון of Ammon. H7725 וישׁב returned H1732 דוד So David H3605 וכל and all H5971 העם the people H3389 ירושׁלם׃ unto Jerusalem.
