2 Kings 19:1-19 ויהי And it came to pass, כשׁמע heard המלך when king חזקיהו Hezekiah ויקרע that he rent את בגדיו his clothes, ויתכס and covered himself בשׂק with sackcloth, ויבא and went בית into the house יהוה׃ of the LORD.

1 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H8085 כשׁמע heard H4428 המלך when king H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah H7167 ויקרע that he rent H853 את H899 בגדיו his clothes, H3680 ויתכס and covered himself H8242 בשׂק with sackcloth, H935 ויבא and went H1004 בית into the house H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD.

2 H7971 וישׁלח And he sent H853 את H471 אליקים Eliakim, H834 אשׁר which H5921 על over H1004 הבית the household, H7644 ושׁבנא and Shebna H5608 הספר the scribe, H853 ואת H2205 זקני and the elders H3548 הכהנים of the priests, H3680 מתכסים covered H8242 בשׂקים with sackcloth, H413 אל to H3470 ישׁעיהו Isaiah H5030 הנביא the prophet H1121 בן the son H531 אמוץ׃ of Amoz.

3 H559 ויאמרו And they said H413 אליו unto H3541 כה him, Thus H559 אמר saith H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah, H3117 יום day H6869 צרה of trouble, H8433 ותוכחה and of rebuke, H5007 ונאצה and blasphemy: H3117 היום a day H2088 הזה This H3588 כי for H935 באו are come H1121 בנים the children H5704 עד to H4866 משׁבר the birth, H3581 וכח strength H369 אין and not H3205 ללדה׃ to bring forth.

4 H194 אולי It may be H8085 ישׁמע will hear H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H853 את H3605 כל all H1697 דברי the words H7262 רב שׁקה of Rab-shakeh, H834 אשׁר whom H7971 שׁלחו hath sent H4428 מלך the king H804 אשׁור of Assyria H113 אדניו his master H2778 לחרף to reproach H430 אלהים God; H2416 חי the living H3198 והוכיח and will reprove H1697 בדברים the words H834 אשׁר which H8085 שׁמע hath heard: H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H5375 ונשׂאת wherefore lift up H8605 תפלה prayer H1157 בעד for H7611 השׁארית the remnant H4672 הנמצאה׃ that are left.

5 H935 ויבאו came H5650 עבדי So the servants H4428 המלך of king H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah H413 אל to H3470 ישׁעיהו׃ Isaiah.

6 H559 ויאמר said H3470 להם ישׁעיהו And Isaiah H3541 כה unto them, Thus H559 תאמרון shall ye say H413 אל to H113 אדניכם your master, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H408 אל H3372 תירא H6440 מפני of H1697 הדברים the words H834 אשׁר which H8085 שׁמעת thou hast heard, H834 אשׁר with which H1442 גדפו have blasphemed H5288 נערי the servants H4428 מלך of the king H804 אשׁור of Assyria H853 אתי׃

7 H2005 הנני H5414 נתן I will send H7307 בו רוח a blast H8085 ושׁמע upon him, and he shall hear H8052 שׁמועה a rumor, H7725 ושׁב and shall return H776 לארצו to his own land; H5307 והפלתיו and I will cause him to fall H2719 בחרב by the sword H776 בארצו׃ in his own land.

8 H7725 וישׁב returned, H7262 רב שׁקה So Rab-shakeh H4672 וימצא and found H853 את H4428 מלך the king H804 אשׁור of Assyria H3898 נלחם warring H5921 על against H3841 לבנה Libnah: H3588 כי for H8085 שׁמע he had heard H3588 כי that H5265 נסע he was departed H3923 מלכישׁ׃

9 H8085 וישׁמע And when he heard H413 אל of H8640 תרהקה Tirhakah H4428 מלך king H3568 כושׁ of Ethiopia, H559 לאמר say H2009 הנה Behold, H3318 יצא he is come out H3898 להלחם to fight H854 אתך against H7725 וישׁב again H7971 וישׁלח thee: he sent H4397 מלאכים messengers H413 אל unto H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah, H559 לאמר׃ saying,

10 H3541 כה Thus H559 תאמרון shall ye speak H413 אל to H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah, H559 לאמר saying, H408 אל Let not H5377 ישׁאך deceive H430 אלהיך thy God H834 אשׁר in whom H859 אתה thou H982 בטח trustest H559 בו לאמר thee, saying, H3808 לא shall not H5414 תנתן be delivered H3389 ירושׁלם Jerusalem H3027 ביד into the hand H4428 מלך of the king H804 אשׁור׃ of Assyria.

11 H2009 הנה Behold, H859 אתה thou H8085 שׁמעת hast heard H853 את H834 אשׁר what H6213 עשׂו have done H4428 מלכי the kings H804 אשׁור of Assyria H3605 לכל to all H776 הארצות lands, H2763 להחרימם by destroying them utterly: H859 ואתה and shalt thou H5337 תנצל׃ be delivered?

12 H5337 ההצילו delivered H853 אתם H430 אלהי Have the gods H1471 הגוים of the nations H834 אשׁר them which H7843 שׁחתו have destroyed; H1 אבותי my fathers H853 את H1470 גוזן Gozan, H853 ואת H2771 חרן and Haran, H7530 ורצף and Rezeph, H1121 ובני and the children H5729 עדן of Eden H834 אשׁר which H8515 בתלאשׂר׃ in Thelasar?

13 H335 איו H4428 מלך the king H2574 חמת of Hamath, H4428 ומלך and the king H774 ארפד of Arpad, H4428 ומלך and the king H5892 לעיר of the city H5617 ספרוים of Sepharvaim, H2012 הנע of Hena, H5755 ועוה׃ and Ivah?

14 H3947 ויקח received H2396 חזקיהו And Hezekiah H853 את H5612 הספרים the letter H3027 מיד of the hand H4397 המלאכים of the messengers, H7121 ויקראם and read H5927 ויעל went up H1004 בית into the house H3069 יהוה H6566 ויפרשׂהו and spread H2396 חזקיהו it: and Hezekiah H6440 לפני it before H3069 יהוה׃

15 H6419 ויתפלל prayed H2396 חזקיהו And Hezekiah H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H559 ויאמר and said, H3068 יהוה O LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3427 ישׁב which dwellest H3742 הכרבים the cherubims, H859 אתה thou H1931 הוא H430 האלהים art the God, H905 לבדך thou alone, H3605 לכל of all H4467 ממלכות the kingdoms H776 הארץ of the earth; H859 אתה thou H6213 עשׂית hast made H853 את H8064 השׁמים heaven H853 ואת H776 הארץ׃ and earth.

16 H5186 הטה bow down H3068 יהוה LORD, H241 אזנך thine ear, H8085 ושׁמע and hear: H6491 פקח open, H3068 יהוה LORD, H5869 עיניך thine eyes, H7200 וראה and see: H8085 ושׁמע and hear H853 את H1697 דברי the words H5576 סנחריב of Sennacherib, H834 אשׁר which H7971 שׁלחו hath sent H2778 לחרף him to reproach H430 אלהים God. H2416 חי׃ the living

17 H551 אמנם H3068 יהוה LORD, H2717 החריבו have destroyed H4428 מלכי the kings H804 אשׁור of Assyria H853 את H1471 הגוים the nations H853 ואת H776 ארצם׃ and their lands,

18 H5414 ונתנו And have cast H853 את H430 אלהיהם their gods H784 באשׁ into the fire: H3588 כי for H3808 לא no H430 אלהים gods, H1992 המה they H3588 כי but H518 אם but H4639 מעשׂה the work H3027 ידי hands, H120 אדם of men's H6086 עץ wood H68 ואבן and stone: H6 ויאבדום׃ therefore they have destroyed

19 H6258 ועתה Now H3068 יהוה therefore, O LORD H430 אלהינו our God, H3467 הושׁיענו save H4994 נא I beseech thee, H3027 מידו thou us out of his hand, H3045 וידעו may know H3605 כל that all H4467 ממלכות the kingdoms H776 הארץ of the earth H3588 כי that H859 אתה thou H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהים God, H905 לבדך׃ thou only.
