2 Chronicles 21:1-20 וישׁכב slept יהושׁפט Now Jehoshaphat עם with אבתיו his fathers, ויקבר and was buried עם with אבתיו his fathers בעיר in the city דויד of David. וימלך reigned יהורם And Jehoram בנו his son תחתיו׃ in his stead.

2 H251 ולו אחים And he had brethren H1121 בני the sons H3092 יהושׁפט of Jehoshaphat, H5838 עזריה Azariah, H3171 ויחיאל and Jehiel, H2148 וזכריהו and Zechariah, H5838 ועזריהו and Azariah, H4317 ומיכאל and Michael, H8203 ושׁפטיהו and Shephatiah: H3605 כל all H428 אלה these H1121 בני the sons H3092 יהושׁפט of Jehoshaphat H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

3 H5414 ויתן gave H1992 להם H1 אביהם And their father H4979 מתנות gifts H7227 רבות them great H3701 לכסף of silver, H2091 ולזהב and of gold, H4030 ולמגדנות and of precious things, H5973 עם with H5892 ערי cities H4694 מצרות fenced H3063 ביהודה in Judah: H853 ואת H4467 הממלכה but the kingdom H5414 נתן gave H3088 ליהורם he to Jehoram; H3588 כי because H1931 הוא he H1060 הבכור׃ the firstborn.

4 H6965 ויקם was risen up H3088 יהורם Now when Jehoram H5921 על to H4467 ממלכת the kingdom H1 אביו of his father, H2388 ויתחזק he strengthened himself, H2026 ויהרג and slew H853 את H3605 כל all H251 אחיו his brethren H2719 בחרב with the sword, H1571 וגם and also H8269 משׂרי of the princes H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

5 H1121 בן old H7970 שׁלשׁים thirty H8147 ושׁתים and two H8141 שׁנה years H3088 יהורם Jehoram H4427 במלכו when he began to reign, H8083 ושׁמונה eight H8141 שׁנים years H4427 מלך and he reigned H3389 בירושׁלם׃ in Jerusalem.

6 H1980 וילך And he walked H1870 בדרך in the way H4428 מלכי of the kings H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H834 כאשׁר like as H6213 עשׂו did H1004 בית the house H256 אחאב of Ahab: H3588 כי for H1323 בת the daughter H256 אחאב of Ahab H1961 היתה he had H802 לו אשׁה to wife: H6213 ויעשׂ and he wrought H7451 הרע evil H5869 בעיני in the eyes H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD.

7 H3808 ולא not H14 אבה would H3068 יהוה Howbeit the LORD H7843 להשׁחית destroy H853 את H1004 בית the house H1732 דויד of David, H4616 למען because of H1285 הברית the covenant H834 אשׁר that H3772 כרת he had made H1732 לדויד with David, H834 וכאשׁר and as H559 אמר he promised H5414 לתת to give H5216 לו ניר a light H1121 ולבניו to him and to his sons H3605 כל forever. H3117 הימים׃ forever.

8 H3117 בימיו In his days H6586 פשׁע revolted H123 אדום the Edomites H8478 מתחת from under H3027 יד the dominion H3063 יהודה of Judah, H4427 וימליכו and made H5921 עליהם and made H4428 מלך׃ themselves a king.

9 H5674 ויעבר went forth H3088 יהורם Then Jehoram H5973 עם with H8269 שׂריו his princes, H3605 וכל and all H7393 הרכב his chariots H5973 עמו with H1961 ויהי him: and he rose up H6965 קם him: and he rose up H3915 לילה by night, H5221 ויך and smote H853 את H123 אדום the Edomites H5437 הסובב which compassed H413 אליו which compassed H853 ואת H8269 שׂרי him in, and the captains H7393 הרכב׃ of the chariots.

10 H6586 ויפשׁע revolted H123 אדום So the Edomites H8478 מתחת from under H3027 יד the hand H3063 יהודה of Judah H5704 עד unto H3117 היום day. H2088 הזה this H227 אז H6586 תפשׁע revolt H3841 לבנה did Libnah H6256 בעת time H1931 ההיא The same H8478 מתחת from under H3027 ידו his hand; H3588 כי because H5800 עזב he had forsaken H853 את H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H1 אבתיו׃ of his fathers.

11 H1571 גם Moreover H1931 הוא he H6213 עשׂה made H1116 במות high places H2022 בהרי in the mountains H3063 יהודה of Judah, H2181 ויזן to commit fornication, H853 את H3427 ישׁבי and caused the inhabitants H3389 ירושׁלם of Jerusalem H5080 וידח and compelled H853 את H3063 יהודה׃ Judah

12 H935 ויבא And there came H413 אליו to H4385 מכתב a writing H452 מאליהו H5030 הנביא the prophet, H559 לאמר saying, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H1732 דויד of David H1 אביך thy father, H8478 תחת H834 אשׁר H3808 לא thou hast not H1980 הלכת walked H1870 בדרכי in the ways H3092 יהושׁפט of Jehoshaphat H1 אביך thy father, H1870 ובדרכי nor in the ways H609 אסא of Asa H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה׃ of Judah,

13 H1980 ותלך But hast walked H1870 בדרך in the way H4428 מלכי of the kings H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H2181 ותזנה to go a whoring, H853 את H3063 יהודה and hast made Judah H853 ואת H3427 ישׁבי and the inhabitants H3389 ירושׁלם of Jerusalem H2181 כהזנות like to the whoredoms H1004 בית of the house H256 אחאב of Ahab, H1571 וגם and also H853 את H251 אחיך thy brethren H1004 בית house, H1 אביך of thy father's H2896 הטובים better H4480 ממך than H2026 הרגת׃ hast slain

14 H2009 הנה Behold, H3068 יהוה will the LORD H5062 נגף smite H4046 מגפה plague H1419 גדולה with a great H5971 בעמך thy people, H1121 ובבניך and thy children, H802 ובנשׁיך and thy wives, H3605 ובכל and all H7399 רכושׁך׃ thy goods:

15 H859 ואתה And thou H2483 בחליים sickness H7227 רבים great H4245 במחלה by disease H4578 מעיך of thy bowels, H5704 עד until H3318 יצאו fall out H4578 מעיך thy bowels H4480 מן by reason of H2483 החלי the sickness H3117 ימים day H5921 על by H3117 ימים׃ day.

16 H5782 ויער stirred up H3068 יהוה Moreover the LORD H5921 על against H3088 יהורם Jehoram H853 את H7307 רוח the spirit H6430 הפלשׁתים of the Philistines, H6163 והערבים and of the Arabians, H834 אשׁר that H5921 על near H3027 יד near H3569 כושׁים׃ the Ethiopians:

17 H5927 ויעלו And they came up H3063 ביהודה into Judah, H1234 ויבקעוה and broke into H7617 וישׁבו it, and carried away H853 את H3605 כל all H7399 הרכושׁ the substance H4672 הנמצא that was found H1004 לבית house, H4428 המלך in the king's H1571 וגם also, H1121 בניו and his sons H802 ונשׁיו and his wives; H3808 ולא so that there was never H7604 נשׁאר left H1121 לו בן a son H3588 כי him, save H518 אם him, save H3059 יהואחז Jehoahaz, H6996 קטן the youngest H1121 בניו׃ of his sons.

18 H310 ואחרי And after H3605 כל all H2063 זאת this H5062 נגפו smote H3068 יהוה the LORD H4578 במעיו him in his bowels H2483 לחלי disease. H369 לאין with an incurable H4832 מרפא׃ with an incurable

19 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H3117 לימים that in process of time, H3117 מימים years, H6256 וכעת after the end H3318 צאת fell out H7093 הקץ H3117 לימים H8147 שׁנים of two H3318 יצאו H4578 מעיו his bowels H5973 עם by reason of H2483 חליו his sickness: H4191 וימת so he died H8463 בתחלאים diseases. H7451 רעים of sore H3808 ולא no H6213 עשׂו made H5971 לו עמו And his people H8316 שׂרפה burning H8316 כשׂרפת for him, like the burning H1 אבתיו׃ of his fathers.

20 H1121 בן years old H7970 שׁלשׁים Thirty H8147 ושׁתים and two H1961 היה was H4427 במלכו he when he began to reign, H8083 ושׁמונה eight H8141 שׁנים years, H4427 מלך and he reigned H3389 בירושׁלם in Jerusalem H1980 וילך and departed H3808 בלא without H2532 חמדה being desired. H6912 ויקברהו Howbeit they buried H5892 בעיר him in the city H1732 דויד of David, H3808 ולא but not H6913 בקברות in the sepulchers H4428 המלכים׃ of the kings.
