  2 H7971 וישׁלח And he sent H4397 מלאכים messengers H413 אל to H256 אחאב Ahab H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5892 העירה׃ into the city,
  3 H559 ויאמר   H3541 לו כה   H559 אמר   H1130 בן\'ceהדד   H3701 כספך Thy silver H2091 וזהבך and thy gold H1931 לי\'ceהוא   H802 ונשׁיך mine; thy wives H1121 ובניך also and thy children, H2896 הטובים the goodliest, H1992 לי\'ceהם׃  
  4 H6030 ויען answered H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H559 ויאמר and said, H1697 כדברך according to thy saying, H113 אדני My lord, H4428 המלך O king, H589 לך אני I H3605 וכל thine, and all H834 אשׁר׃ that
  5 H7725 וישׁבו came again, H4397 המלאכים And the messengers H559 ויאמרו and said, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר speaketh H1130 בן הדד Ben-hadad, H559 לאמר saying, H3588 כי Although H7971 שׁלחתי I have sent H413 אליך unto H559 לאמר thee, saying, H3701 כספך me thy silver, H2091 וזהבך and thy gold, H802 ונשׁיך and thy wives, H1121 ובניך and thy children; H5414 לי תתן׃ Thou shalt deliver
  6 H3588 כי Yet H518 אם about H6256 כעת this time, H4279 מחר thee tomorrow H7971 אשׁלח I will send H853 את   H5650 עבדי my servants H413 אליך unto H2664 וחפשׂו and they shall search H853 את   H1004 ביתך thine house, H853 ואת   H1004 בתי and the houses H5650 עבדיך of thy servants; H1961 והיה and it shall be, H3605 כל whatsoever H4261 מחמד is pleasant H5869 עיניך in thine eyes, H7760 ישׂימו they shall put H3027 בידם in their hand, H3947 ולקחו׃ and take away.
  7 H7121 ויקרא called H4428 מלך Then the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3605 לכל all H2205 זקני the elders H776 הארץ of the land, H559 ויאמר and said, H3045 דעו Mark, H4994 נא I pray you, H7200 וראו and see H3588 כי how H7451 רעה mischief: H2088 זה this H1245 מבקשׁ seeketh H3588 כי for H7971 שׁלח he sent H413 אלי unto H802 לנשׁי me for my wives, H1121 ולבני and for my children, H3701 ולכספי and for my silver, H2091 ולזהבי and for my gold; H3808 ולא him not. H4513 מנעתי   H4480 ממנו׃  
  8 H559 ויאמרו said H413 אליו unto H3605 כל And all H2205 הזקנים the elders H3605 וכל and all H5971 העם the people H408 אל not H8085 תשׁמע him, Hearken H3808 ולוא nor H14 תאבה׃ consent.
  9 H559 ויאמר Wherefore he said H4397 למלאכי unto the messengers H1130 בן הדד of Ben-hadad, H559 אמרו Tell H113 לאדני my lord H4428 המלך the king, H3605 כל All H834 אשׁר that H7971 שׁלחת thou didst send H413 אל for to H5650 עבדך thy servant H7223 בראשׁנה at the first H6213 אעשׂה I will do: H1697 והדבר thing H2088 הזה but this H3808 לא not H3201 אוכל I may H6213 לעשׂות do. H1980 וילכו departed, H4397 המלאכים And the messengers H7725 וישׁבהו and brought H1697 דבר׃ him word
  10 H7971 וישׁלח sent H413 אליו unto H1130 בן הדד And Ben-hadad H559 ויאמר him, and said, H3541 כה so H6213 יעשׂון do H430 לי אלהים The gods H3541 וכה also, H3254 יוספו unto me, and more H518 אם if H5606 ישׂפק shall suffice H6083 עפר the dust H8111 שׁמרון of Samaria H8168 לשׁעלים for handfuls H3605 לכל for all H5971 העם the people H834 אשׁר that H7272 ברגלי׃ follow
  11 H6030 ויען answered H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H559 ויאמר and said, H1696 דברו Tell H408 אל Let not H1984 יתהלל on boast himself H2296 חגר him that girdeth H6605 כמפתח׃ as he that putteth it off.
  12 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H8085 כשׁמע when heard H853 את   H1697 הדבר message, H2088 הזה this H1931 והוא as he H8354 שׁתה drinking, H1931 הוא he H4428 והמלכים and the kings H5521 בסכות in the pavilions, H559 ויאמר that he said H413 אל unto H5650 עבדיו his servants, H7760 שׂימו Set H7760 וישׂימו And they set H5921 על against H5892 העיר׃ the city.
  13 H2009 והנה And, behold, H5030 נביא prophet H259 אחד a H5066 נגשׁ there came H413 אל unto H256 אחאב Ahab H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H559 ויאמר saying, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H7200 הראית Hast thou seen H853 את   H3605 כל all H1995 ההמון multitude? H1419 הגדול great H2088 הזה this H2005 הנני   H5414 נתנו I will deliver H3027 בידך it into thine hand H3117 היום this day; H3045 וידעת and thou shalt know H3588 כי that H589 אני I H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.
  14 H559 ויאמר said, H256 אחאב And Ahab H4310 במי By whom? H559 ויאמר And he said, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H5288 בנערי by the young men H8269 שׂרי of the princes H4082 המדינות of the provinces. H559 ויאמר Then he said, H4310 מי Who H631 יאסר shall order H4421 המלחמה the battle? H559 ויאמר And he answered, H859 אתה׃ Thou.
  15 H6485 ויפקד Then he numbered H853 את   H5288 נערי the young men H8269 שׂרי of the princes H4082 המדינות of the provinces, H1961 ויהיו and they were H3967 מאתים two hundred H8147 שׁנים two: H7970 ושׁלשׁים and thirty H310 ואחריהם and after H6485 פקד them he numbered H853 את   H3605 כל all H5971 העם the people, H3605 כל all H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H7651 שׁבעת seven H505 אלפים׃ thousand.
  16 H3318 ויצאו And they went out H6672 בצהרים at noon. H1130 ובן הדד But Ben-hadad H8354 שׁתה drinking H7910 שׁכור himself drunk H5521 בסכות in the pavilions, H1931 הוא he H4428 והמלכים and the kings, H7970 שׁלשׁים the thirty H8147 ושׁנים and two H4428 מלך kings H5826 עזר that helped H853 אתו׃  
  17 H3318 ויצאו went out H5288 נערי And the young men H8269 שׂרי of the princes H4082 המדינות of the provinces H7223 בראשׁנה first; H7971 וישׁלח sent out, H1130 בן הדד and Ben-hadad H5046 ויגידו and they told H559 לו לאמר him, saying, H582 אנשׁים   H3318 יצאו come out H8111 משׁמרון׃  
  18 H559 ויאמר And he said, H518 אם Whether H7965 לשׁלום for peace, H3318 יצאו they be come out H8610 תפשׂום take H2416 חיים them alive; H518 ואם or whether H4421 למלחמה for war, H3318 יצאו they be come out H2416 חיים them alive. H8610 תפשׂום׃ take
  19 H428 ואלה So these H3318 יצאו came out H4480 מן of H5892 העיר the city, H5288 נערי young men H8269 שׂרי of the princes H4082 המדינות of the provinces H2428 והחיל and the army H834 אשׁר which H310 אחריהם׃ followed
  20 H5221 ויכו And they slew H376 אישׁ every one H376 אישׁו his man: H5127 וינסו fled; H758 ארם and the Syrians H7291 וירדפם pursued H3478 ישׂראל and Israel H4422 וימלט escaped H1130 בן הדד them: and Ben-hadad H4428 מלך the king H758 ארם of Syria H5921 על on H5483 סוס a horse H6571 ופרשׁים׃ with the horsemen.
  21 H3318 ויצא went out, H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5221 ויך and smote H853 את   H5483 הסוס the horses H853 ואת   H7393 הרכב and chariots, H5221 והכה and slew H758 בארם the Syrians H4347 מכה slaughter. H1419 גדולה׃ with a great
  22 H5066 ויגשׁ came H5030 הנביא And the prophet H413 אל to H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H559 ויאמר and said H1980 לו לך unto him, Go, H2388 התחזק strengthen thyself, H3045 ודע and mark, H7200 וראה and see H853 את   H834 אשׁר what H6213 תעשׂה thou doest: H3588 כי for H8666 לתשׁובת at the return H8141 השׁנה of the year H4428 מלך the king H758 ארם of Syria H5927 עלה will come up H5921 עליך׃ against
  23 H5650 ועבדי And the servants H4428 מלך of the king H758 ארם of Syria H559 אמרו said H413 אליו unto H430 אלהי him, Their gods H2022 הרים of the hills; H430 אלהיהם gods H5921 על therefore H3651 כן therefore H2388 חזקו they were stronger H4480 ממנו than H199 ואולם we; but H3898 נלחם let us fight H854 אתם against H4334 במישׁור them in the plain, H518 אם and surely, H3808 לא we shall be stronger H2388 נחזק we shall be stronger H1992 מהם׃  
  24 H853 ואת   H1697 הדבר thing, H2088 הזה this H6213 עשׂה And do H5493 הסר   H4428 המלכים   H376 אישׁ every man H4725 ממקמו out of his place, H7760 ושׂים and put H6346 פחות captains H8478 תחתיהם׃ in their rooms:
  25 H859 ואתה   H4487 תמנה   H2428 לך חיל thee an army, H2428 כחיל like the army H5307 הנפל that thou hast lost, H853 מאותך   H5483 וסוס horse H5483 כסוס for horse, H7393 ורכב and chariot H7393 כרכב for chariot: H3898 ונלחמה and we will fight against H853 אותם   H4334 במישׁור them in the plain, H518 אם surely H3808 לא surely H2388 נחזק we shall be stronger H1992 מהם   H8085 וישׁמע they. And he hearkened H6963 לקלם unto their voice, H6213 ויעשׂ and did H3651 כן׃ so.
  26 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H8666 לתשׁובת at the return H8141 השׁנה of the year, H6485 ויפקד numbered H1130 בן הדד that Ben-hadad H853 את   H758 ארם the Syrians, H5927 ויעל and went up H663 אפקה to Aphek, H4421 למלחמה to fight H5973 עם against H3478 ישׂראל׃ Israel.
  27 H1121 ובני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H6485 התפקדו were numbered, H3557 וכלכלו and were all present, H1980 וילכו and went H7125 לקראתם   H2583 ויחנו pitched H1121 בני them: and the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5048 נגדם before H8147 כשׁני them like two H2835 חשׂפי little flocks H5795 עזים of kids; H758 וארם but the Syrians H4390 מלאו filled H853 את   H776 הארץ׃ the country.
  28 H5066 ויגשׁ And there came H376 אישׁ a man H430 האלהים of God, H559 ויאמר and spoke H413 אל unto H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H559 ויאמר and said, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H3282 יען   H834 אשׁר   H559 אמרו have said, H758 ארם the Syrians H430 אלהי God H2022 הרים of the hills, H3068 יהוה The LORD H3808 ולא not H430 אלהי God H6010 עמקים of the valleys, H1931 הוא but he H5414 ונתתי therefore will I deliver H853 את   H3605 כל all H1995 ההמון multitude H1419 הגדול great H2088 הזה this H3027 בידך into thine hand, H3045 וידעתם and ye shall know H3588 כי that H589 אני I H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.
  29 H2583 ויחנו And they pitched H428 אלה one H5227 נכח over against H428 אלה the other H7651 שׁבעת seven H3117 ימים days. H1961 ויהי And it was, H3117 ביום day H7637 השׁביעי that in the seventh H7126 ותקרב was joined: H4421 המלחמה the battle H5221 ויכו slew H1121 בני and the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H853 את   H758 ארם of the Syrians H3967 מאה a hundred H505 אלף thousand H7273 רגלי footmen H3117 ביום day. H259 אחד׃ in one
  30 H5127 וינסו fled H3498 הנותרים But the rest H663 אפקה to Aphek, H413 אל into H5892 העיר the city; H5307 ותפל fell H2346 החומה and a wall H5921 על upon H6242 עשׂרים twenty H7651 ושׁבעה and seven H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ of the men H3498 הנותרים left. H1130 ובן הדד And Ben-hadad H5127 נס fled, H935 ויבא and came H413 אל into H5892 העיר the city, H2315 חדר into an inner chamber. H2315 בחדר׃ into an inner chamber.
  31 H559 ויאמרו said H413 אליו unto H5650 עבדיו And his servants H2009 הנה him, Behold H4994 נא now, H8085 שׁמענו we have heard H3588 כי that H4428 מלכי the kings H1004 בית of the house H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3588 כי   H4428 מלכי kings: H2617 חסד merciful H1992 הם   H7760 נשׂימה put H4994 נא let us, I pray thee, H8242 שׂקים sackcloth H4975 במתנינו on our loins, H2256 וחבלים and ropes H7218 בראשׁנו upon our heads, H3318 ונצא and go out H413 אל to H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel: H194 אולי peradventure H2421 יחיה he will save H853 את   H5315 נפשׁך׃ thy life.
  32 H2296 ויחגרו So they girded H8242 שׂקים sackcloth H4975 במתניהם on their loins, H2256 וחבלים and ropes H7218 בראשׁיהם on their heads, H935 ויבאו and came H413 אל to H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H559 ויאמרו and said, H5650 עבדך Thy servant H1130 בן הדד Ben-hadad H559 אמר saith, H2421 תחי live. H4994 נא I pray thee, H5315 נפשׁי let me H559 ויאמר And he said, H5750 העודנו he yet H2416 חי alive? H251 אחי my brother. H1931 הוא׃ he
  33 H376 והאנשׁים Now the men H5172 ינחשׁו did diligently observe H4116 וימהרו him, and did hastily H2480 ויחלטו catch H4480 הממנו whether from H559 ויאמרו and they said, H251 אחיך Thy brother H1130 בן הדד Ben-hadad. H559 ויאמר Then he said, H935 באו Go H3947 קחהו ye, bring H3318 ויצא came forth H413 אליו to H1130 בן הדד him. Then Ben-hadad H5927 ויעלהו him; and he caused him to come up H5921 על into H4818 המרכבה׃ the chariot.
  34 H559 ויאמר And said H413 אליו unto H5892 הערים him, The cities, H834 אשׁר which H3947 לקח took H1 אבי my father H853 מאת   H1 אביך thy father, H7725 אשׁיב I will restore; H2351 וחוצות streets H7760 תשׂים and thou shalt make H1834 לך בדמשׂק for thee in Damascus, H834 כאשׁר as H7760 שׂם made H1 אבי my father H8111 בשׁמרון in Samaria. H589 ואני Then I H1285 בברית with this covenant. H7971 אשׁלחך will send thee away H3772 ויכרת So he made H1285 לו ברית a covenant H7971 וישׁלחהו׃ with him, and sent him away.
  35 H376 ואישׁ man H259 אחד And a certain H1121 מבני of the sons H5030 הנביאים of the prophets H559 אמר said H413 אל unto H7453 רעהו his neighbor H1697 בדבר in the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H5221 הכיני Smite H4994 נא me, I pray thee. H3985 וימאן refused H376 האישׁ And the man H5221 להכתו׃ to smite
  36 H559 ויאמר Then said H3282 לו יען   H834 אשׁר   H3808 לא thou hast not H8085 שׁמעת obeyed H6963 בקול the voice H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H2005 הנך   H1980 הולך as soon as thou art departed H853 מאתי   H5221 והכך shall slay H738 האריה me, a lion H1980 וילך thee. And as soon as he was departed H681 מאצלו from H4672 וימצאהו found H738 האריה him, a lion H5221 ויכהו׃ him, and slew
  37 H4672 וימצא Then he found H376 אישׁ man, H312 אחר another H559 ויאמר and said, H5221 הכיני Smite H4994 נא me, I pray thee. H5221 ויכהו smote H376 האישׁ And the man H5221 הכה him, so that in smiting H6481 ופצע׃ he wounded
  38 H1980 וילך departed, H5030 הנביא So the prophet H5975 ויעמד and waited H4428 למלך for the king H5921 על by H1870 הדרך the way, H2664 ויתחפשׂ and disguised himself H666 באפר with ashes H5921 על upon H5869 עיניו׃ his face.
  39 H1961 ויהי And as H4428 המלך the king H5674 עבר passed by, H1931 והוא he H6817 צעק cried H413 אל unto H4428 המלך the king: H559 ויאמר and he said, H5650 עבדך Thy servant H3318 יצא went out H7130 בקרב into the midst H4421 המלחמה of the battle; H2009 והנה and, behold, H376 אישׁ a man H5493 סר turned aside, H935 ויבא and brought H413 אלי unto H376 אישׁ a man H559 ויאמר me, and said, H8104 שׁמר Keep H853 את   H376 האישׁ man: H2088 הזה this H518 אם if H6485 הפקד by any means he be missing, H6485 יפקד by any means he be missing, H1961 והיתה be H5315 נפשׁך then shall thy life H8478 תחת for H5315 נפשׁו his life, H176 או or H3603 ככר a talent H3701 כסף of silver. H8254 תשׁקול׃ else thou shalt pay
  40 H1961 ויהי was H5650 עבדך And as thy servant H6213 עשׂה busy H2008 הנה here H2008 והנה and there, H1931 והוא he H369 איננו was gone. H559 ויאמר said H413 אליו unto H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3651 כן him, So H4941 משׁפטך thy judgment H859 אתה thyself H2782 חרצת׃ hast decided
  41 H4116 וימהר And he hasted, H5493 ויסר and took H853 את   H666 האפר the ashes H5921 מעל away from H5869 עיניו his face; H5234 ויכר discerned H853 אתו   H4428 מלך and the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3588 כי him that H5030 מהנבאים of the prophets. H1931 הוא׃ he
  42 H559 ויאמר And he said H413 אליו unto H3541 כה him, Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H3282 יען Because H7971 שׁלחת thou hast let go H853 את   H376 אישׁ a man H2764 חרמי whom I appointed to utter destruction, H3027 מיד out of hand H1961 והיתה shall go H5315 נפשׁך therefore thy life H8478 תחת for H5315 נפשׁו his life, H5971 ועמך and thy people H8478 תחת for H5971 עמו׃ his people.
  43 H1980 וילך went H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5921 על to H1004 ביתו his house H5620 סר heavy H2198 וזעף and displeased, H935 ויבא and came H8111 שׁמרונה׃ to Samaria.
