2 H4480 מן Of H1471 הגוים the nations H834 אשׁר which H559 אמר said H3069 יהוה H413 אל unto H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3808 לא Ye shall not H935 תבאו go in H1992 בהם והם shall they H3808 לא to them, neither H935 יבאו come in H403 בכם אכן unto you: surely H5186 יטו they will turn away H853 את H3824 לבבכם your heart H310 אחרי after H430 אלהיהם their gods: H1692 בהם דבק cleaved H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H160 לאהבה׃

3 H1961 ויהי And he had H802 לו נשׁים wives, H8282 שׂרות princesses, H7651 שׁבע seven H3967 מאות hundred H6370 ופלגשׁים concubines: H7969 שׁלשׁ and three H3967 מאות hundred H5186 ויטו turned away H802 נשׁיו and his wives H853 את H3820 לבו׃ his heart.

4 H1961 ויהי For it came to pass, H6256 לעת when H2209 זקנת was old, H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H802 נשׁיו his wives H5186 הטו turned away H853 את H3824 לבבו his heart H310 אחרי after H430 אלהים gods: H312 אחרים other H3808 ולא not H1961 היה was H3824 לבבו and his heart H8003 שׁלם perfect H5973 עם with H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיו his God, H3824 כלבב as the heart H1732 דויד of David H1 אביו׃ his father.

5 H1980 וילך went H8010 שׁלמה For Solomon H310 אחרי after H6253 עשׁתרת Ashtoreth H430 אלהי the goddess H6722 צדנים of the Zidonians, H310 ואחרי and after H4445 מלכם Milcom H8251 שׁקץ the abomination H5984 עמנים׃ of the Ammonites.

6 H6213 ויעשׂ did H8010 שׁלמה And Solomon H7451 הרע evil H5869 בעיני in the sight H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H3808 ולא and went not fully H4390 מלא and went not fully H310 אחרי after H3068 יהוה the LORD, H1732 כדוד as David H1 אביו׃ his father.

7 H227 אז Then H1129 יבנה build H8010 שׁלמה did Solomon H1116 במה a high place H3645 לכמושׁ for Chemosh, H8251 שׁקץ the abomination H4124 מואב of Moab, H2022 בהר in the hill H834 אשׁר that H5921 על before H6440 פני before H3389 ירושׁלם Jerusalem, H4432 ולמלך and for Molech, H8251 שׁקץ the abomination H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון׃ of Ammon.

8 H3651 וכן And likewise H6213 עשׂה did H3605 לכל he for all H802 נשׁיו wives, H5237 הנכריות his strange H6999 מקטירות which burnt incense H2076 ומזבחות and sacrificed H430 לאלהיהן׃ unto their gods.

9 H599 ויתאנף was angry H3068 יהוה And the LORD H8010 בשׁלמה with Solomon, H3588 כי because H5186 נטה was turned H3824 לבבו his heart H5973 מעם from H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H7200 הנראה which had appeared H413 אליו unto H6471 פעמים׃ him twice,

10 H6680 וצוה commanded. H413 אליו H5921 על him concerning H1697 הדבר thing, H2088 הזה this H1115 לבלתי that he should not H1980 לכת go H310 אחרי after H430 אלהים gods: H312 אחרים other H3808 ולא not H8104 שׁמר but he kept H853 את H834 אשׁר that which H6680 צוה H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD

11 H559 ויאמר said H3068 יהוה Wherefore the LORD H8010 לשׁלמה unto Solomon, H3282 יען Forasmuch H834 אשׁר as H1961 היתה is H2063 זאת this H5973 עמך done of H3808 ולא thee, and thou hast not H8104 שׁמרת kept H1285 בריתי my covenant H2708 וחקתי and my statutes, H834 אשׁר which H6680 צויתי H5921 עליך from H7167 קרע H7167 אקרע H853 את H4467 הממלכה the kingdom H5921 מעליך H5414 ונתתיה thee, and will give H5650 לעבדך׃ it to thy servant.

12 H389 אך Notwithstanding H3117 בימיך in thy days H3808 לא I will not H6213 אעשׂנה do H4616 למען H1732 דוד H1 אביך H3027 מיד it out of the hand H1121 בנך of thy son. H7167 אקרענה׃ I will rend

13 H7535 רק Howbeit H853 את H3605 כל all H4467 הממלכה the kingdom; H3808 לא I will not H7167 אקרע rend away H7626 שׁבט tribe H259 אחד one H5414 אתן will give H1121 לבנך to thy son H4616 למען H1732 דוד H5650 עבדי H4616 ולמען H3389 ירושׁלם H834 אשׁר which H977 בחרתי׃ I have chosen.

14 H6965 ויקם stirred up H3068 יהוה And the LORD H7854 שׂטן an adversary H8010 לשׁלמה unto Solomon, H853 את H1908 הדד Hadad H130 האדמי the Edomite: H2233 מזרע H4428 המלך H1931 הוא he H123 באדום׃ in Edom.

15 H1961 ויהי For it came to pass, H1961 בהיות was H1732 דוד when David H854 את H123 אדום in Edom, H5927 בעלות was gone up H3097 יואב and Joab H8269 שׂר the captain H6635 הצבא of the host H6912 לקבר to bury H853 את H2491 החללים the slain, H5221 ויך after he had smitten H3605 כל every H2145 זכר male H123 באדום׃ in Edom;

16 H3588 כי (For H8337 שׁשׁת six H2320 חדשׁים months H3427 ישׁב remain H8033 שׁם there H3097 יואב did Joab H3605 וכל with all H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H5704 עד until H3772 הכרית he had cut off H3605 כל every H2145 זכר male H123 באדום׃ in Edom:)

17 H1272 ויברח fled, H1908 אדד Hadad H1931 הוא he H376 ואנשׁים and certain H130 אדמיים H5650 מעבדי H1 אביו H854 אתו with H935 לבוא him, to go H4714 מצרים into Egypt; H1908 והדד H5288 נער child. H6996 קטן׃ yet a little

18 H6965 ויקמו And they arose H4080 ממדין H935 ויבאו and came H6290 פארן to Paran: H3947 ויקחו and they took H582 אנשׁים H5973 עמם with H6290 מפארן H935 ויבאו and they came H4714 מצרים to Egypt, H413 אל unto H6547 פרעה Pharaoh H4428 מלך king H4714 מצרים of Egypt; H5414 ויתן which gave H1004 לו בית him a house, H3899 ולחם him victuals, H559 אמר and appointed H776 לו וארץ him land. H5414 נתן׃ and gave

19 H4672 וימצא found H1908 הדד And Hadad H2580 חן favor H5869 בעיני in the sight H6547 פרעה of Pharaoh, H3966 מאד great H5414 ויתן so that he gave H802 לו אשׁה him to wife H853 את H269 אחות the sister H802 אשׁתו of his own wife, H269 אחות the sister H8472 תחפניס of Tahpenes H1377 הגבירה׃ the queen.

20 H3205 ותלד bore H269 לו אחות And the sister H8472 תחפניס of Tahpenes H853 את H1592 גנבת him Genubath H1121 בנו his son, H1580 ותגמלהו weaned H8472 תחפנס whom Tahpenes H8432 בתוך in H1004 בית house: H6547 פרעה Pharaoh's H1961 ויהי was H1592 גנבת and Genubath H1004 בית household H6547 פרעה in Pharaoh's H8432 בתוך among H1121 בני the sons H6547 פרעה׃ of Pharaoh.

21 H1908 והדד And when Hadad H8085 שׁמע heard H4714 במצרים in Egypt H3588 כי that H7901 שׁכב slept H1732 דוד David H5973 עם with H1 אבתיו his fathers, H3588 וכי and that H4191 מת was dead, H3097 יואב Joab H8269 שׂר the captain H6635 הצבא of the host H559 ויאמר said H1908 הדד Hadad H413 אל to H6547 פרעה Pharaoh, H7971 שׁלחני Let me depart, H1980 ואלך that I may go H413 אל to H776 ארצי׃ mine own country.

22 H559 ויאמר said H6547 לו פרעה Then Pharaoh H3588 כי unto him, But H4100 מה what H859 אתה hast thou H2638 חסר lacked H5973 עמי with H2005 והנך H1245 מבקשׁ thou seekest H1980 ללכת to go H413 אל to H776 ארצך thine own country? H559 ויאמר And he answered, H3808 לא Nothing: H3588 כי howbeit H7971 שׁלח let me go in any wise. H7971 תשׁלחני׃ let me go in any wise.

23 H6965 ויקם stirred him up H430 אלהים And God H7854 לו שׂטן adversary, H853 את H7331 רזון Rezon H1121 בן the son H450 אלידע of Eliadah, H834 אשׁר which H1272 ברח fled H853 מאת H1909 הדדעזר Hadadezer H4428 מלך king H6678 צובה of Zobah: H113 אדניו׃ his lord

24 H6908 ויקבץ And he gathered H5921 עליו unto H376 אנשׁים men H1961 ויהי him, and became H8269 שׂר captain H1416 גדוד over a band, H2026 בהרג slew H1732 דוד when David H853 אתם H1980 וילכו them and they went H1834 דמשׂק to Damascus, H3427 וישׁבו and dwelt H4427 בה וימלכו therein, and reigned H1834 בדמשׂק׃ in Damascus.

25 H1961 ויהי And he was H7854 שׂטן an adversary H3478 לישׂראל to Israel H3605 כל all H3117 ימי the days H8010 שׁלמה of Solomon, H854 ואת beside H7451 הרעה the mischief H834 אשׁר that H1908 הדד Hadad H6973 ויקץ and he abhorred H3478 בישׂראל Israel, H4427 וימלך and reigned H5921 על over H758 ארם׃ Syria.

26 H3379 וירבעם And Jeroboam H1121 בן the son H5028 נבט of Nebat, H673 אפרתי an Ephrathite H4480 מן of H6868 הצרדה Zereda, H8034 ושׁם name H517 אמו whose mother's H6871 צרועה Zeruah, H802 אשׁה woman, H490 אלמנה a widow H5650 עבד servant, H8010 לשׁלמה Solomon's H7311 וירם even he lifted up H3027 יד hand H4428 במלך׃ against the king.

27 H2088 וזה And this H1697 הדבר the cause H834 אשׁר that H7311 הרים he lifted up H3027 יד hand H4428 במלך against the king: H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H1129 בנה built H853 את H4407 המלוא Millo, H5462 סגר repaired H853 את H6556 פרץ the breaches H5892 עיר of the city H1732 דוד of David H1 אביו׃ his father.

28 H376 והאישׁ And the man H3379 ירבעם Jeroboam H1368 גבור a mighty H2428 חיל man of valor: H7200 וירא seeing H8010 שׁלמה and Solomon H853 את H5288 הנער the young man H3588 כי that H6213 עשׂה was industrious, H4399 מלאכה was industrious, H1931 הוא he H6485 ויפקד H853 אתו H3605 לכל over all H5447 סבל the charge H1004 בית of the house H3130 יוסף׃ of Joseph.

29 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H6256 בעת time H1931 ההיא at that H3379 וירבעם when Jeroboam H3318 יצא went out H3389 מירושׁלם H4672 וימצא found H853 אתו H281 אחיה Ahijah H7888 השׁילני the Shilonite H5030 הנביא that the prophet H1870 בדרך him in the way; H1931 והוא and he H3680 מתכסה had clad himself H8008 בשׂלמה garment; H2319 חדשׁה with a new H8147 ושׁניהם and they two H905 לבדם alone H7704 בשׂדה׃ in the field:

30 H8610 ויתפשׂ caught H281 אחיה And Ahijah H8008 בשׂלמה garment H2319 החדשׁה the new H834 אשׁר that H5921 עליו on H7167 ויקרעה him, and rent H8147 שׁנים it twelve H6240 עשׂר it twelve H7168 קרעים׃ pieces:

31 H559 ויאמר And he said H3379 לירבעם to Jeroboam, H3947 קח Take H6235 לך עשׂרה thee ten H7168 קרעים pieces: H3588 כי for H3541 כה thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H430 אלהי the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H2005 הנני H7167 קרע I will rend H853 את H4467 הממלכה the kingdom H3027 מיד out of the hand H8010 שׁלמה of Solomon, H5414 ונתתי and will give H853 לך את H6235 עשׂרה ten H7626 השׁבטים׃ tribes

32 H7626 והשׁבט tribe H259 האחד one H1961 יהיה (But he shall have H4616 לו למען H5650 עבדי H1732 דוד H4616 ולמען H3389 ירושׁלם H5892 העיר the city H834 אשׁר which H977 בחרתי I have chosen H3605 בה מכל out of all H7626 שׁבטי the tribes H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel:)

33 H3282 יען Because H834 אשׁר that H5800 עזבוני they have forsaken H7812 וישׁתחוו me, and have worshiped H6253 לעשׁתרת Ashtoreth H430 אלהי the goddess H6722 צדנין H3645 לכמושׁ Chemosh H430 אלהי the god H4124 מואב of the Moabites, H4445 ולמלכם and Milcom H430 אלהי the god H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון of Ammon, H3808 ולא and have not H1980 הלכו walked H1870 בדרכי in my ways, H6213 לעשׂות to do H3477 הישׁר right H5869 בעיני in mine eyes, H2708 וחקתי and my statutes H4941 ומשׁפטי and my judgments, H1732 כדוד as David H1 אביו׃ his father.

34 H3808 ולא Howbeit I will not H3947 אקח take H853 את H3605 כל the whole H4467 הממלכה kingdom H3027 מידו out of his hand: H3588 כי but H5387 נשׂיא him prince H7896 אשׁתנו I will make H3605 כל all H3117 ימי the days H2416 חייו of his life H4616 למען H1732 דוד H5650 עבדי H834 אשׁר because H977 בחרתי I chose, H853 אתו H834 אשׁר H8104 שׁמר he kept H4687 מצותי my commandments H2708 וחקתי׃ and my statutes:

35 H3947 ולקחתי But I will take H4410 המלוכה the kingdom H3027 מיד H1121 בנו H5414 ונתתיה and will give H853 לך את H6235 עשׂרת it unto thee, ten H7626 השׁבטים׃ tribes.

36 H1121 ולבנו And unto his son H5414 אתן will I give H7626 שׁבט tribe, H259 אחד one H4616 למען that H1961 היות may have H5216 ניר a light H1732 לדויד David H5650 עבדי my servant H3605 כל always H3117 הימים always H6440 לפני before H3389 בירושׁלם me in Jerusalem, H5892 העיר the city H834 אשׁר which H977 בחרתי I have chosen H7760 לי לשׂום me to put H8034 שׁמי my name H8033 שׁם׃ there.

37 H853 ואתך H3947 אקח And I will take H4427 ומלכת thee, and thou shalt reign H3605 בכל according to all H834 אשׁר that H183 תאוה desireth, H5315 נפשׁך thy soul H1961 והיית and shalt be H4428 מלך king H5921 על over H3478 ישׂראל׃ Israel.

38 H1961 והיה And it shall be, H518 אם if H8085 תשׁמע thou wilt hearken unto H853 את H3605 כל all H834 אשׁר that H6680 אצוך I command H1980 והלכת thee, and wilt walk H1870 בדרכי in my ways, H6213 ועשׂית and do H3477 הישׁר right H5869 בעיני in my sight, H8104 לשׁמור to keep H2708 חקותי my statutes H4687 ומצותי and my commandments, H834 כאשׁר as H6213 עשׂה did; H1732 דוד David H5650 עבדי my servant H1961 והייתי that I will be H5973 עמך with H1129 ובניתי thee, and build H1004 לך בית house, H539 נאמן thee a sure H834 כאשׁר as H1129 בניתי I built H1732 לדוד for David, H5414 ונתתי and will give H853 לך את H3478 ישׂראל׃ Israel

39 H6031 ואענה afflict H853 את H2233 זרע the seed H1732 דוד of David, H4616 למען And I will for H2063 זאת this H389 אך but H3808 לא not H3605 כל forever. H3117 הימים׃ forever.

40 H1245 ויבקשׁ sought H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H4191 להמית therefore to kill H853 את H3379 ירבעם Jeroboam. H6965 ויקם arose, H3379 ירבעם And Jeroboam H1272 ויברח and fled H4714 מצרים into Egypt, H413 אל unto H7895 שׁישׁק Shishak H4428 מלך king H4714 מצרים of Egypt, H1961 ויהי and was H4714 במצרים in Egypt H5704 עד until H4194 מות the death H8010 שׁלמה׃ of Solomon.

41 H3499 ויתר And the rest H1697 דברי of the acts H8010 שׁלמה of Solomon, H3605 וכל and all H834 אשׁר that H6213 עשׂה he did, H2451 וחכמתו and his wisdom, H3808 הלוא not H1992 הם they H3789 כתבים written H5921 על in H5612 ספר the book H1697 דברי of the acts H8010 שׁלמה׃ of Solomon?

42 H3117 והימים And the time H834 אשׁר that H4427 מלך reigned H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H3389 בירושׁלם in Jerusalem H5921 על over H3605 כל all H3478 ישׂראל Israel H705 ארבעים forty H8141 שׁנה׃ years.

43 H7901 וישׁכב slept H8010 שׁלמה And Solomon H5973 עם with H1 אבתיו his fathers, H6912 ויקבר and was buried H5892 בעיר in the city H1732 דוד of David H1 אביו his father: H4427 וימלך reigned H7346 רחבעם and Rehoboam H1121 בנו his son H8478 תחתיו׃ in his stead.
