1 Chronicles 5 ובני Now the sons ראובן of Reuben בכור the firstborn ישׂראל of Israel, כי (for הוא he הבכור the firstborn; ובחללו but, forasmuch as he defiled יצועי bed, אביו his father's נתנה was given בכרתו his birthright לבני unto the sons יוסף of Joseph בן the son ישׂראל of Israel: ולא and the genealogy is not to be reckoned להתיחשׂ and the genealogy is not to be reckoned לבכרה׃ after the birthright.

9 H4217 ולמזרח And eastward H3427 ישׁב he inhabited H5704 עד unto H935 לבוא the entering in H4057 מדברה of the wilderness H4480 למן from H5104 הנהר the river H6578 פרת Euphrates: H3588 כי because H4735 מקניהם their cattle H7235 רבו were multiplied H776 בארץ in the land H1568 גלעד׃ of Gilead.

10 H3117 ובימי And in the days H7586 שׁאול of Saul H6213 עשׂו they made H4421 מלחמה war H5973 עם with H1905 ההגראים the Hagarites, H5307 ויפלו who fell H3027 בידם by their hand: H3427 וישׁבו and they dwelt H168 באהליהם in their tents H5921 על throughout all H3605 כל H6440 פני H4217 מזרח the east H1568 לגלעד׃ of Gilead.

11 H1121 ובני And the children H1410 גד of Gad H5048 לנגדם over against H3427 ישׁבו dwelt H776 בארץ them, in the land H1316 הבשׁן of Bashan H5704 עד unto H5548 סלכה׃ Salchah:

12 H3100 יואל Joel H7218 הראשׁ the chief, H8223 ושׁפם and Shapham H4932 המשׁנה the next, H3285 ויעני and Jaanai, H8202 ושׁפט and Shaphat H1316 בבשׁן׃ in Bashan.

13 H251 ואחיהם And their brethren H1004 לבית of the house H1 אבותיהם of their fathers H4317 מיכאל Michael, H4918 ומשׁלם and Meshullam, H7652 ושׁבע and Sheba, H3140 ויורי and Jorai, H3275 ויעכן and Jachan, H2127 וזיע and Zia, H5677 ועבר and Heber, H7651 שׁבעה׃ seven.

20 H5826 ויעזרו And they were helped H5921 עליהם against H5414 וינתנו were delivered H3027 בידם into their hand, H1905 ההגריאים them, and the Hagarites H3605 וכל and all H5973 שׁעמהם that with H3588 כי them: for H430 לאלהים to God H2199 זעקו they cried H4421 במלחמה in the battle, H6279 ונעתור and he was entreated H3588 להם כי of them; because H982 בטחו׃ they put their trust

21 H7617 וישׁבו And they took away H4735 מקניהם their cattle; H1581 גמליהם of their camels H2572 חמשׁים fifty H505 אלף thousand, H6629 וצאן and of sheep H3967 מאתים two hundred H2572 וחמשׁים and fifty H505 אלף thousand, H2543 וחמורים and of asses H505 אלפים two thousand, H5315 ונפשׁ and of men H120 אדם and of men H3967 מאה a hundred H505 אלף׃ thousand.

22 H3588 כי For H2491 חללים slain, H7227 רבים many H5307 נפלו there fell down H3588 כי because H430 מהאלהים H4421 המלחמה the war H3427 וישׁבו And they dwelt H8478 תחתיהם in their steads H5704 עד until H1473 הגלה׃ the captivity.

23 H1121 ובני And the children H2677 חצי of the half H7626 שׁבט tribe H4519 מנשׁה of Manasseh H3427 ישׁבו dwelt H776 בארץ in the land: H1316 מבשׁן H5704 עד unto H1179 בעל חרמון Baalath-hermon H8149 ושׂניר and Senir, H2022 והר and unto mount H2768 חרמון Hermon. H1992 המה they H7235 רבו׃ increased

25 H4603 וימעלו And they transgressed H430 באלהי against the God H1 אבותיהם of their fathers, H2181 ויזנו and went a whoring H310 אחרי after H430 אלהי the gods H5971 עמי of the people H776 הארץ of the land, H834 אשׁר whom H8045 השׁמיד destroyed H430 אלהים God H6440 מפניהם׃ before

26 H5782 ויער stirred up H430 אלהי And the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H853 את H7307 רוח the spirit H6322 פול of Pul H4428 מלך king H804 אשׁור of Assyria, H853 ואת H7307 רוח and the spirit H8407 תלגת פלנסר of Tiglath-pileser H4428 מלך king H804 אשׁור of Assyria, H1540 ויגלם and he carried them away, H7206 לראובני even the Reubenites, H1425 ולגדי and the Gadites, H2677 ולחצי and the half H7626 שׁבט tribe H4519 מנשׁה of Manasseh, H935 ויביאם and brought H2477 לחלח them unto Halah, H2249 וחבור and Habor, H2024 והרא and Hara, H5104 ונהר and to the river H1470 גוזן Gozan, H5704 עד unto H3117 היום day. H2088 הזה׃ this
