Godbey⁽ⁱ⁾ ²⁴ And having heard, they unanimously lifted up their voice to God, and said, O Lord, thou having created the heaven and the earth and the sea and all things which are in them, ²⁵ the One speaking through the mouth of David, thy child, our father through the Holy Ghost, Wherefore did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and his Christ. ²⁷ For in truth they were assembled together in this city, against thy holy Child Jesus, whom thou didst anoint; both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, ²⁸ to do so many things as thy hand and thy counsel did foreordain to come to pass. ²⁹ And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to thy servants with all boldness to speak thy word, ³⁰ while, reaching forth thy hand unto healings, both miracles and wonders are wrought through the name of thy holy child Jesus.
