Etheridge⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁷ And to the angel of the church which is in Philadelphia write: These saith the Holy, the True, who hath the key of David; who openeth and no man shutteth,9 and who shutteth [Lit. holdeth.] and no man openeth. ⁸ I know thy works; and, behold, I have given before thee an open door, which no man can shut; because thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. ⁹ Behold, I will give [to those] of the synagogue of Satana, who say that they are Jihudoyee, and are not, but lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and they shall know that I have loved thee. ¹⁰ Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which is to come upon all the habitable world, to try them who dwell upon the earth. ¹¹ I come quickly. Hold that which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. ¹² Him who overcometh I will make a column in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and of Urishlem the new, which descendeth from heaven from my God, and my new name. ¹³ He who hath ears, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
