THE FALL OF NINEVEH
He who shatters ascends in front of your face: guard the rampart; watch the way; strengthen your loins; strengthen your power mightily: 2 for Yah Veh turns away the pomp of Yaaqov as the pomp of Yisra El: for the evacuators evacuate them and ruin their vine twigs: 3 the buckler of his mighty reddens; the valiant men are in dyed scarlet: and fiery chariots with cleavers of fire in the day of his preparation; and the fir trees shake. 4 The chariots halal in the outways; they prowl in the broadways: their visage as flambeaus; they run as the lightnings. 5 He remembers his mighty; they falter in their walk; they hasten to the wall and prepare the covering: 6 the gates of the rivers open and the manse melts. 7 And it is set: she is exiled/exposed; she ascends; and her maids drive her as with the voice of doves tambourining on their hearts. 8 And Nineveh is as a pool of water from days ago: yet they flee. Stand! Stand! And no one looks back. 9 Plunder the silver; plunder the gold: for there is no end of the structure and honor of all the vessels of desire; 10 she is empty and void and wasted: and the heart melts and the knees knock and much pain in all loins; and all their faces gather flushness. 11 Where is the habitation of the lions? And the pasture of the whelps? Where walks the lion? The roaring lion? And the whelp of the lion? And no one trembles? 12 The lion tears enough pieces for his whelps and strangles for his lionesses; and fills his holes with prey and his habitations with prey. 13 Behold, I am against you - an oracle of Yah Veh Sabaoth and I burn her chariots in the smoke and the sword consumes your whelps: and I cut off your prey from the earth and the voice of your angels is heard no more.
