Judges 6:1-40

A PERSECUTION OF THE MIDYANIY, THE AMALEKIY, AND THE SONS OF THE EAST
And the sons of Yisra El work evil in the eyes of Yah Veh; and Yah Veh gives them into the hand of Midyan seven years: 2 and the hand of Midyan prevails against Yisra El: and at the face of the Midyaniy the sons of Yisra El work themselves caverns in the mountains and caves and huntholds. 3 And so be it, Yisra El seeds; and the Midyan and the Amalekiy and the sons of the east ascend - ascend against them 4 and encamp against them and ruin the produce of the earth unto the entering Azzah; and no invigoration survives for Yisra El - neither lamb nor ox nor he burro: 5 for they ascend with their chattel and their tents and they come as locusts in sufficient abundance; for both they and their camels are without number: and they enter the land to ruin it: 6 and Yisra El is mighty lanquished at the face of the Midyaniy; and the sons of Yisra El cry to Yah Veh. 7
GIDON
And so be it, the sons of Yisra El cry to Yah Veh because of Midyan; 8 and Yah Veh sends a man - a prophet to the sons of Yisra El, who says to them, Thus says Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El, I ascended you from Misrayim and brought you from the house of servants; 9 and I rescued you from the hand of the Misrayim and from the hand of all who oppressed you; and drove them from your face and gave you their land. 10 And I say to you, I - Yah Veh your Elohim; awe not the elohim of the Emoriy in whose land you settle: and you hearken not to my voice. 11
THE ANGEL OF YAH VEH VISITS GIDON
And an angel comes from Yah Veh, who settles under an oak in Ophrah - of Yah Ash the Abi Ezeriy: and his son Gidon threshes wheat by the winepress so that it flees from the face of the Midyaniy. 12 And the angel of Yah Veh is seen by him, and says to him, Yah Veh be with you, you mighty of valour. 13 And Gidon says to him, Oh my Adonay, - and Yah Veh is with us! Why does all this find us? And where are all his marvels our fathers scribed us, saying, Has not Yah Veh ascended us from Misrayim? And now, Yah Veh, forsakes he us? And gives us into the palms of the Midyaniy? 14 And Yah Veh faces him and says, Go in this - your force and save Yisra El from the palm of the Midyaniy. Have not I sent you? 15 And he says to him, Oh my Adonay, What? I save Yisra El? Behold, my thousand is poor in Menash Sheh and I am the lesser in the house of my father. 16 And Yah Veh says to him, Because I am with you; and you, smite the Midyaniy as one man. 17 And he says to him, If now I find charism in your eyes, work me a sign that you are wording with me: 18 depart not hence, I beseech you, until I come to you and bring my offering and set it at your face. And he says, I settle until you return. 19 And Gidon goes in and works a doe goat and matsahs of an ephah of flour: he sets the flesh in a basket and sets the broth in a skillet and brings it to him under the oak and approaches. 20 And the angel of Elohim says to him, Take the flesh and the matsahs and set on this rock and pour out the broth. - and he works thus. 21 Then the angel of Yah Veh sends the end of the staff in his hand, and touches the flesh and the matsahs; and fire ascends from the rock and consumes the flesh and the matsahs. - and the angel of Yah Veh goes from his eyes. 22 And Gidon sees he is the angel of Yah Veh; and Gidon says, Aha, O Adonay Yah Veh! for thus I have seen the angel of Yah Veh face to face. 23 And Yah Veh says to him, Shalom to you! Awe not! You die not! 24 And there Gidon builds a sacrifice altar to Yah Veh and calls it Yah Veh Shalom: to this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abi Ezeriy. 25 And so be it, the same night, Yah Veh says to him, Take the young steer ox of your father and the second bullock of seven years; and demolish the sacrifice altar of Baal of your father and cut down the asherah by it: 26 and build a sacrifice altar to Yah Veh your Elohim on top of this stronghold by the arrangement; and take the second bullock and holocaust a holocaust with the timber of the asherah you cut down. 27 And Gidon takes ten men of his servants and works as Yah Veh words to him: and so be it, because he awes the household of his father and the men of the city, he cannot work it by day so he works it by night. 28 And the men of the city start early in the morning; and behold, the sacrifice altar of Baal is pulled down and the asherah by it is cut down; and the second bullock is holocausted on the sacrifice altar he built. 29 And they say man to friend, Who worked this word? And they enquire and seek, and they say, Gidon the son of Yah Ash worked this word. 30 Then the men of the city say to Yah Ash, Bring out your son to die: because he pulled down the sacrifice altar of Baal and because he cut down the asherah by it. 31 And Yah Ash says to all who stand against him, You - plead you for Baal? You - you save him? Deathify him who pleads for him by morning: if he is an elohim, he pleads for himself, because he pulled down his sacrifice altar. 32 And on that day he calls him Yerub Baal, saying, Baal pleads against him, because he pulled down his sacrifice altar. 33 Then all Midyaniy and Amaleqiy and the sons of the east gather together and pass over and encamp in the valley of Yizre El. 34 And the Spirit of Yah Veh enrobes Gidon and he blasts a shophar; and Abi Ezer cries after him: 35 and he sends angels throughout all Menash Sheh; who also cry after him: and he sends angels to Asher and to Zebulun and to Naphtali; and they ascend to meet them. 36
GIDON AND THE SHEARING
And Gidon says to Elohim, If you save Yisra El by my hand, as you worded, 37 behold, I place a shearing of wool in the threshingfloor; and if the dew is on the shearing only, and parched on all the earth - then I know you save Yisra El by my hand as you worded. 38 And so be it, he starts early on the morrow, and squeezes the shearing together and wrings the dew from the shearing - a bason full of water. 39 And Gidon says to Elohim, Kindle not your wrath against me and I word but this one time: I test, I beseech you, but this one time with the shearing; parch it only, on the shearing and on all the earth be dew. 40 And that night, Elohim works thus: for there is parch on the shearing only, and there is dew on all the earth.
