WARNING CONCERNING IDOLATRY
And so be the word to Yirme Yah concerning all the Yah Hudiym who settle in the land of Misrayim - who settle at Migdol and at Tachpanches and at Noph and in the land of Pathros, saying, 2 Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth Elohim of Yisra El: You see all the evil I bring on Yeru Shalem and on all the cities of Yah Hudah; and behold, this day they are a parch, and no man settles therein 3 at the face of the evil they worked to vex me by going in to incense and to serve other elohim whom they know not - neither they, you, nor your fathers: 4 and I sent to you all my servants the prophets, starting early and sending them, saying, I beseech, work not this word of abhorrence that I hate! 5 And they neither hearken nor spread their ear to turn from their evil to not incense to other elohim. 6 and I poured my fury and my wrath and it burns in the cities of Yah Hudah and in the outways of Yeru Shalem; and they are parched and desolate, as this day. 7 And now thus says Yah Veh Elohim Sabaoth Elohim of Yisra El; Why work this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling from midst Yah Hudah, that in surviving, none survive; 8 in that you vex me with the works of your hands, incensing to other elohim in the land of Misrayim where you go to sojourn, to cut yourselves off, and that you become an abasement and a reproach among all the goyim of the earth? 9 Forget you the evil of your fathers? And the evil of the sovereigns of Yah Hudah? And the evil of their women? And your own evil? And the evil your women worked in the land of Yah Hudah and in the outways of Yeru Shalem? 10 They are neither crushed to this day, nor awed; nor walk in my torah nor in my statutes I gave at your face and at the face of your fathers. 11 So thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth Elohim of Yisra El: Behold, I set my face against you for evil, and cut off all Yah Hudah: 12 and I take the survivors of Yah Hudah, who set their faces to enter the land of Misrayim to sojourn there: and they all are consumed, and fall in the land of Misrayim; - consumed by the sword and by the famine: they die, from the least even to the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they become an oath and a desolation and an abasement and a reproach: 13 and I visit on them who settle in the land of Misrayim, as I visited on Yeru Shalem - by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: 14 so that not one of the survivors of Yah Hudah, who go into the land of Misrayim to sojourn there - escapees or survivors return to the land of Yah Hudah, to which they lifted their soul to return to settle there: for no one returns except such as escape. 15 Then all the men who know that their women incense to other elohim, and all the women who stand by - a great congregation - even all the people who settle in the land of Misrayim, in Pathros, answer Yirme Yah, saying, 16 The word you worded to us in the name of Yah Veh, we hearkened not to you: 17 for in working, we work whatever comes from our own mouth, to incense to the sovereigness of the heavens and to libate libations to her as we worked - we and our fathers our sovereigns and our governors in the cities of Yah Hudah and in the outways of Yeru Shalem: for then we were satiated with bread and were good and saw no evil: 18 and since we ceased to incense to the sovereigness of the heavens and to libate libations to her, we are all in want, - consumed by the sword and by the famine: 19 and when we incensed to the sovereigness of the heavens, and libated libations to her, worked we cakes to idolize her, and libated libations to her without our men? 20 Then Yirme Yah says to all the people, - to the mighty and to the women and to all the people who answer him words, saying, 21 The incense you incensed in the cities of Yah Hudah and in the outways of Yeru Shalem - you and your fathers, your sovereigns and your governors and the people of the land remembered not Yah Veh them? and ascended it not into his heart? 22 And Yah Veh can no longer bear at the face of the evil of your exploits - and at the face of the abhorrences you worked; so your land is a parched area and a desolation and an abasement without a settler, as this day. 23 Because at the face of your incensing and because you sinned against Yah Veh, and neither hearkened to the voice of Yah Veh nor walked in his torah nor in his statutes nor in his witnesses; so this evil confronts you, as at this day. 24 Yirme Yah says to all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of Yah Veh, all Yah Hudah in the land of Misrayim: 25 Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth Elohim of Yisra El, saying; You and your women both worded with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, In working, we work the vows we vowed, to incense to the sovereigness of the heavens and to libate libations to her: in raising, we raise our vows, and in working, we work our vows. 26 So hear the word of Yah Veh, all Yah Hudah who settles in the land of Misrayim; Behold, I oath by my great name, says Yah Veh, that my name no more becomes called out in the mouth of any man of Yah Hudah in all the land of Misrayim, saying, Adonay Yah Veh lives. 27 Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Yah Hudah in the land of Misrayim are consumed by the sword and by the famine until the consummation. 28 Yet a number of men - escapees from the sword return from the land of Misrayim to the land of Yah Hudah; and all the survivors of Yah Hudah who enter the land of Misrayim to sojourn there, know whose words rise - mine or theirs. 29 And this is your sign - an oracle of Yah Veh that I visit on you in this place, so that you know, that in rising, my words rise against you for evil. 30 Thus says Yah Veh: Behold, I give Paroh Hophra sovereign of Misrayim into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of them who seek his soul: as I gave Sidqi Yah sovereign of Yah Hudah into the hand of Nebukadnets Tsar sovereign of Babel - his enemy who sought his soul.
