ACHAZ REIGNS IN YERU SHALEM
Achaz is a son of twenty years when he begins to reign: and he reigns sixteen years in Yeru Shalem: and he works not straight in the eyes of Yah Veh as David his father: 2 and he walks in the ways of the sovereigns of Yisra El and also works moltens for Baalim: 3 and he incenses in the valley of the son of burning and burns his sons in the fire - as the abhorrences of the goyim whom Yah Veh dispossessed at the face of the sons of Yisra El: 4 and he sacrifices and incenses in the bamahs and on the hills and under every green tree: 5 and Yah Veh his Elohim gives him into the hand of the sovereign of Aram and they smite him; and capture a great multitude and bring them to Dammeseq: and he is given into the hand of the sovereign of Yisra El, who smites him with a great stroke. 6 And Peqach the son of Remal Yah slaughters in Yah Hudah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day - all sons of valour; because they forsake Yah Veh Elohim of their fathers. 7 And Zichri, mighty of Ephrayim, slaughters Maase Yah the son of the sovereign and Ezri Qam the eminent of the house and El Qanah the second to the sovereign: 8 and the sons of Yisra El capture two hundred thousand of their brothers - women, sons and daughters: and also plunder much spoil from them and bring the spoil to Shomeron. 9 And a prophet of Yah Veh is there; his name, Oded: and he goes at the face of the host who come to Shomeron, and says to them, Behold, Yah Veh Elohim of your fathers in his fury with Yah Hudah gives them into your hand: slaughter them in a rage it touches to the heavens. 10 And now, sons of Yah Hudah and Yeru Shalem, you say to subdue them as your servants and maids: but have you not guilt - all yours against Yah Veh your Elohim? 11 And now hear me; and return the captives you captured of your brothers: for the fuming wrath of Yah Veh is on you. 12 And the men, heads of the sons of Ephrayim, Azar Yah the son of Yah Hanan Berech Yah the son of Meshillemoth and Yechizqi Yah the son of Shallum and Amasa the son of Hadlai rise against them who come from the hostility 13 and say to them, Bring not the captives here for the guilt against Yah Veh is on us; and you say to add to our sins and to our guilt: for our guilt is great and there is fuming wrath against Yisra El. 14 And the equipped leave the captives and the plunder at the face of the governors and all the congregation: 15 and the men appointed by name rise and hold the captives; and enrobe all the naked with the spoil - enrobe them and enclose them and give them to eat and to drink and anoint them; and guide all who faltered on he burros: and bring them to Yericho, the city of palm trees, beside their brothers: and they return to Shomeron. 16 At that time, sovereign Achaz sends to help the sovereign of Ashshur: 17 and again the Edomiy come and smite Yah Hudah and capture captives: 18 and the Peleshethiy strip the cities of the lowlands and of the south of Yah Hudah and capture Beth Shemesh and Aijalon and Gederoth and Sochoh with the daughters thereof and Timnah with the daughters thereof and Gimzo and the daughters thereof: and there they settle. 19 For Yah Veh humbles Yah Hudah because of Achaz sovereign of Yisra El - for he exposed Yah Hudah and in treasoning, treasoned against Yah Veh. 20 And Tilgath Pileser sovereign of Ashshur comes to him and besieges him; but strengthens him not. 21 For Achaz allots of the house of Yah Veh and of the house of the sovereign and of the governors and gives it to the sovereign of Ashshur: but he helps him not: 22 and in the time of his distress he adds to treason against Yah Veh - this is that sovereign Achaz: 23 and he sacrifices to the elohim of Dammeseq who smite him: and he says, Because the elohim of the sovereigns of Aram help them - so I sacrifice to them - that they help me. - and they stumble him and of all Yisra El. 24 And Achaz gathers the instruments of the house of Elohim; and chops the instruments of the house of Elohim and shuts the doors of the house of Yah Veh and works himself sacrifice altars in every corner of Yeru Shalem: 25 and in city by city of Yah Hudah he works bamahs to incense to other elohim and vexes Yah Veh Elohim of his fathers. 26

And the rest of his words and of all his ways - first and last, behold, are they not inscribed in the scroll of the words of the days of the sovereigns of Yah Hudah and Yisra El? 27 And Achaz lies down with his fathers - entombed in the city in Yeru Shalem: but they bring him not into the tombs of the sovereigns of Yisra El. - and Yechizqi Yah his son reigns in his stead.
