DAVID REIGNS OVER YISRA EL
And all Yisra El gathers to David to Hebron, saying, Behold, your bone and your flesh. 2 Also three yesters ago - even when Shaul was sovereign, you led out and brought in Yisra El: and Yah Veh your Elohim said to you, Tend my people Yisra El and be eminent over my people Yisra El! 3 And all the elders of Yisra El come to the sovereign to Hebron: and David cuts a covenant with them in Hebron at the face of Yah Veh: and they anoint David sovereign over Yisra El - according to the word of Yah Veh by the hand of Shemu El. 4 And David and all Yisra El go to Yeru Shalem - which is Yebus - of the Yebusiy the settlers of the land. 5 And the settlers of Yebus say to David, Come not here. - and David captures the hunthold of Siyon - the city of David. 6 And David says, Whoever smites the Yebusiy first becomes head and governor. So Yah Ab the son of Seruyah ascends first and becomes head: 7 and David settles in the hunthold; so they call it City of David: 8 and he builds the city all around - from Millo and all around: and Yah Ab enlivens the survivors of the city: 9 and in walking, David walks greater and greater: for Yah Veh Sabaoth is with him. 10
THE HEADS OF THE MIGHTY OF DAVID
And these are heads of the mighty of David - who strengthen themselves with him in his sovereigndom and with all Yisra El, to have him reign according to the word of Yah Veh concerning Yisra El. 11 And this is the number of the mighty of David: Yashob Am a son of the Hachmoniy, the head of the tertiaries: he wakened his spear against three hundred - pierced at one time. 12 And after him El Azar the son of Dodo the Ach Oachiy of the three mighty; 13 he is with David at Pas Dammin; and there the Peleshethiy gathered to war; and there was an allotment of field full of barley; and the people fled the face of the Peleshethiy; 14 and they set themselves midst that allotment and rescued it; and slaughtered the Peleshethiy; and Yah Veh saved them by a great salvation. 15 And three of the thirty heads descend the rock to David - to the cave of Adullam: and the camp of the Peleshethiy encamp in the valley of Rephaim: 16 and David is then in the hold and the Peleshethiy station is then at Beth Lechem. 17 And David desired and said, Oh that one give me drink of the water of the well of Beth Lechem at the portal! 18 And the three split through the camp of the Peleshethiy and bailed water from the well of Beth Lechem by the portal; and lifted and brought to David. And David willed to not drink of it but poured it out to Yah Veh 19 and said, My Elohim, far be it from me to work this: I - Drink I the blood of these men with their souls? For by their souls they bring it. - and he willed to not drink. The three mighty worked these. 20 And Abi Shai the brother of Yah Ab became head of the three: for wakening his spear against three hundred - pierced - and has a name among the three: 21 of the three, he is more honorable than the two; for he is their governor: but he attained not to the three. 22 Bena Yah the son of Yah Yada the son of a valiant man of Qabse El - great of deeds: he smote two Ariel of Moab; and he descended and smote a lion in a well in a day of snow; 23 and he smote a man - a Misrayim - a man of measure; five cubits high; and in the hand of the Misrayim is a spear as the beam of a weaver; and he descended to him with a scion and stripped the spear from hand of the Misrayim and slaughtered him with his own spear: 24 Bena Yah the son of Yah Yada worked these and has the name among the three mighty: 25 behold, he is honorable among the thirty but attained not to the three: and David sets him over his guard. 26 And the mighty of valour: Asa El the brother of Yah Ab, El Hanan the son of Dodo of Beth Lechem, 27 Shammoth the Haroriy, Heles the Paloniy, 28 Ira the son of Iqqesh the Teqohiy, Abi Ezer the Anathothiy, 29 Sibbechay the Hushathiy, Ilay the Ach Oachiy, 30 Maharay the Netophathiy, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathiy, 31 Ittay the son of Ribay of Gibah of the sons of Ben Yamin, Bena Yah the Pirathoniy, 32 Hurai of the wadies of Gaash, Abi El the Arabahiy, 33 Azmaveth the Bachurimiy, El Yachba the Shaalbimiy, 34 the sons of Hashem the Gizohiy, Yah Nathan the son of Shage the Harariy, 35 Achiy Am the son of Sachar the Harariy, Eli Phal the son of Ur, 36 Hepher the Mecherahiy, Achiy Yah the Paloniy, 37 Hesro the Karmeliy, Naaray the son of Ezbai, 38 Yah El the brother of Nathan, Mibchar the son of Hagariy, 39 Seleq the Ammoniy, Nachray the Berothiy the instrument bearer of Yah Ab the son of Seruyah, 40 Ira the Yetheriy, Gareb the Yetheriy, 41 Uri Yah the Hethiy, Zabad the son of Achiy Lay, 42 Adina the son of Shiza the Reu Beniy - a head of the Reu Beniy and thirty with him, 43 Hanan the son of Maachah, and Yah Shaphat the Mithniy, 44 Uzzi Yah the Ashtarothiy, Shama and Yei El the sons of Hothan the Aroeriy, 45 Yedia El the son of Shimri, and Yah Ha his brother the Tisiy, 46 Eli El the Machaviy, and Yeribay and Yah Shavah the sons of El Naam, and Yithmah the Moabiy, 47 Eli El and Obed and Yaasi El the Mesoba Yah.
