Joshua 2 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Acacia two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into a harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

1 H3091 And Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun H7971 sent H7851 out of Acacia H8147 two H582 men H7270 to spy H2791 secretly, H559 saying, H3212 Go H7200 view H776 the land, H3405 even Jericho. H3212 And they went, H935 and came H2181 into a harlot's H802 house, H8034 named H7343 Rahab, H7901 and lodged there.

2 H559 And it was told H4428 the king H3405 of Jericho, H559 saying, H935 Behold, there came H582 men H3915 in here to night H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel H2658 to search out H776 the country.

3 H4428 And the king H3405 of Jericho H7971 sent H7343 to Rahab, H559 saying, H3318 Bring forth H582 the men H935 that have come H935 to you, which have entered H1004 into your house: H935 for they have come H2658 to search out H776 all the country.

4 H802 And the woman H3947 took H8147 the two H582 men, H6845 and hid H559 them, and said, H935 There came H582 men H3045 to me, but I knew H370 not where they came from.

5 H5462 And it came to pass about the time of the shutting H8179 of the gate, H2822 when it was dark, H582 that the men H3318 went out: H582 where the men H1980 went H3045 I know H7291 not: pursue H310 after H4118 them quickly; H5381 for you shall overtake them.

6 H5927 But she had brought them up H1406 to the roof H2934 of the house, and hid H6086 them with the stalks H6593 of flax, H6186 which she had laid in order H1406 upon the roof.

7 H582 And the men H7291 pursued H310 after H1870 them the way H3383 to Jordan H4569 to the fords: H7291 and as soon as they which pursued H310 after H3318 them were gone out, H5462 they shut H8179 the gate.

8 H7901 And before they were laid down, H5927 she came up H1406 to them on the roof;

9 H559 And she said H582 to the men, H3045 I know H3068 that the Lord H5414 has given H776 you the land, H367 and that your terror H5307 is fallen H3427 upon us, and that all the inhabitants H776 of the land H4127 faint H6440 because of you.

10 H8085 For we have heard H3068 how the Lord H3001 dried up H4325 the water H5488 of the Red H3220 Sea H6440 for you, H3318 when you came out H4714 of Egypt; H6213 and what you did H8147 to the two H4428 kings H567 of the Amorites, H5676 that were on the other side H3383 Jordan, H5511 Sihon H5747 and Og, H2763 whom you utterly destroyed.

11 H8085 And as soon as we had heard H3824 these things, our hearts H4549 did melt, H6965 neither did there remain H7307 any more courage H376 in any man, H6440 because H3068 of you: for the Lord H430 your God, H430 he is God H8064 in heaven H4605 above, H776 and in earth beneath.

12 H7650 Now therefore, I pray you, swear H3068 unto me by the Lord, H3588 since H6213 I have showed H2617 you kindness, H6213 that you will also show H2617 kindness H1 unto my father's H1004 house, H5414 and give H571 me a true H226 token:

13 H2421 And that you will save alive H1 my father, H517 and my mother, H251 and my brothers, H269 and my sisters, H5337 and all that they have, and deliver H5315 our lives H4194 from death.

14 H582 And the men H559 answered H5315 her, Our life H4191 for yours, H5046 if you utter H1697 not this our business. H3068 And it shall be, when the Lord H5414 has given H776 us the land, H6213 that we will deal H2617 kindly H571 and truly with you.

15 H3381 Then she let them down H2256 by a cord H1157 through H2474 the window: H1004 for her house H7023 was upon the town H2346 wall, H3427 and she lived H2346 upon the wall.

16 H559 And she said H3212 unto them, Get H2022 to the mountain, H7291 lest the pursuers H6293 meet H2247 you; and hide H7969 yourselves there three H3117 days, H7291 until the pursuers H7725 have returned: H310 and afterward H3212 may you go H1870 your way.

17 H582 And the men H559 said H5355 unto her, We will be blameless H7621 of this your oath H7650 which you have made us swear.

18 H935 Unless, when we come H776 into the land, H7194 you shall bind H8615 this line H8144 of scarlet H2339 thread H2474 in the window H3381 which you did let us down by: H622 and you shall bring H1 your father, H517 and your mother, H251 and your brothers, H1 and all your father's H1004 household, H1004 into your house.

19 H834 And it shall be, that whoever H3318 shall go out H1817 of the doors H1004 of your house H2351 into the street, H1818 his blood H7218 shall be upon his head, H5355 and we will be guiltless: H1004 and whoever shall be with you in the house, H1818 his blood H7218 shall be on our head, H3027 if any hand is laid on him.

20 H5046 And if you utter H1697 this our business, H5355 then we will be quit H7621 of your oath H7650 which you have made us to swear.

21 H559 And she said, H1697 According unto your words, H7971 so be it. And she sent them away, H3212 and they departed: H7194 and she bound H8144 the scarlet H8615 line H2474 in the window.

22 H3212 And they went, H935 and came H2022 unto the mountain, H3427 and stayed H7969 there three H3117 days, H7291 until the pursuers H7725 were returned: H7291 and the pursuers H1245 sought H1870 them throughout all the way, H4672 but found them not.

23 H8147 So the two H582 men H7725 returned, H3381 and descended H2022 from the mountain, H5674 and passed over, H935 and came H3091 to Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H5608 and told H4672 him all things that happened them:

24 H559 And they said H3091 unto Joshua, H3588 Truly H3068 the Lord H5414 has delivered H3027 into our hands H776 all the land; H3427 for even all the inhabitants H776 of the country H4127 do faint H6440 because of us.
